Bali Jiwa Villa: "the real Bali in a very elegant setting"

Review by: mlefevre | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We have been several times to Bali Jiwa Villas and every time it feels like coming back home. The staff is very professional and attentional, very kind yet very discreet and we love to dine there. The food is super fresh, delicious & beautifully presented without being over the top and we love the Indonesian accents. I particularly love their home made jams, especially the banana one.. so yummy! The fact that they have a surprise menu rather than a la carte is unusual but we both really love to be surprised ( I do not eat meat but Made, the cook always find the perfect dishes!) The villa is spacious and one feels free.. No huge cement walls closing up the space.. on the contrary the serenity of the surroundings with the breathtaking view is always appeasing when we return and we make sure to spend as much time there are possible. It is simply perfect to unwind and reconnect with the surrounding nature. I personally always look forward to the fireflies at night.! They also have a collection of coffee table books about Bali/Indonesia and novels in three languages to borrow from, so I never need to carry much with me. We love to sit in the big salon and read while drinking a delicious ginger tea and nibbling on their home made cookies ( the coconut ones are my favorites!) We love the fact that it is hidden and so quiet but Ubud is only a jump away and the staff was always very accommodating to arrange a transfer for us at any time we wanted to go to watch traditional dances or visit one of the art museums. Will we come back! Definitely. Can we recommend it ? Absolutely."

Sanak Retreat Bali: "just wonderful"

Review by: alexandrar228 | Source: Trip Advisor
"probably my favorite place in Bali. Sanak Retreat is the perfect place for family. the place is stunning, with a very nice restaurant which serves an excellent food, the pool is just in front of the restaurant and allows the parents to enjoy a drink while watching the kids having fun. The rooms are really cool and cozy. The massages are great. We absolutely adore the activities for kids, kite flying, balinese dance, rice harvesting, preparation of the offerings.... the personnel is super nice, we will come back, it was just an amazing experience Stayed August 2016, traveled with family"

David’s Kitchen: "Great food and ambiance"

Review by: Nat G | Source: Trip Advisor
My husband and I visited David's Kitchen a few days ago with our 9 month old son and we were extremely surprised by the great food and beautifully designed restaurant. Service was impeccable and the staff was very kind towards our baby. We also thought the price was very reasonable considering the great quality of the food. The location was also great and the venue was beautiful. We couldn't recommend it enough.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "<3"

Review by: tenithchan999 | Source: Trip Advisor
A few days before the trip, I happened to feel insecure about the trip. Because it was my first time to go such an adventurous place without my family members. As the day came, i still joined with my friends. My first impression about the hotel was the "Security" that they gave to me. I was actually over thinking about how dangerous it was to visit a place located in the middle of the river surrounded by the forest. But I felt relieved as they did everything they could to have my trust. My second impression was the interaction between the people and the environment. It was so refreshing and beautiful. That's how the nature is supposed to be like. My third impression would be the hotel, 4 Rivers Floating Lodge itself. It was incredibly amazing how the products that were placed in the hotel were actually could be decomposed and not going to effect the environment. The facilities that we needed in our daily life were placed in the hotel too even though it's on the river. I felt so safe and secure because they provided materials that could save us in some cases. The people were so nice and polite. The foods was great in every meals and the transportation was good too. I've learned something new there. I hope to visit that place again <3

Maison Polanka: "Secluded Oasis"

Review by: Rod W | Source: Trip Advisor
An oasis of calm , good food, and excellent service. Such friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms are superb. You really are in another world once you have passed through the gates. Just check on the next door neighbors building project as this could affect the peace and quiet.

Manukan Island Resort: "Lazy days on the beach"

Review by: Chrissele | Source: Trip Advisor
For the past few days in Sabah we wanted us to relax a bit and chose the nearby island of KK Manukan. Arrival / Room: Already at the pier we were surprised: by private email boat we were taken to the island. Us a cool water was also pressed into his hand the same. On the island you received us very friendly with a cool cloth and a tea / drink. Although we arrived already at 11 am, we moved into our beach villa same. We were told everything and there were apples ready and refrigerate soft drinks and replenished daily free water. Our Beach Villa was the first one up front at the reception and on the way, but the fact that we were on the first floor, the day visitors did not bother us. The room and the bathroom are really very nice, clean and large. It is anything useful present: flip-flops, flip-flops for outdoors, beach towels, shampoo, shower gel, a comb, a toothbrush, etc. The TV has some channels in English. The WiFi does so about 50% of the time works, and if so, then the connection was good. But since I do not know that there is absolutely WiFi, I was pleasantly surprised anyway. Beach: The private beach is very nice, the chairs and umbrellas are great. With us rarely strayed days Visitors on our beach and were usually relatively quickly pointed out by the staff that they are here only allows guests. In the water was only now and then someone Resort stranger. (But was apparently just not much going on). The hammocks were also very comfortable. Unfortunately, on the first two days, a bit much trash on the beach, and although actually some employees were traveling, was not collected the. But from the third day it was all super clean. Convenient to all Villa Beach residents might still be a shower or locker room at the private beach, one could go swimming on the last day even after checking out. but otherwise it is not far to the room, so do not disturb it. Since the seabed is very sandy, the water is not always clear, especially if it is something stormy. However, I found the snorkeling better than expected. You see a lot of fish and a few living coral there still. Restaurant: The breakfast was amazing. One can choose from 6 different dishes as much as you want but until you come to order, you already have fruit, yogurt, milk, cereal, bread, jams are at the table. as we were a few days there, we tried almost everything and it was all very good. The dinner was also very good, but the selection was not quite as big. The live music was not bad, but I found it funny when they are directly at the table, but the Asian tourists found the apparently quite cool. The prices of local I found okay, I had feared worse. The cocktails were not bad either. Other: there are from the infrastructure all it takes, there are two souvenir shops that sell snacks, drinks and ice cream, three restaurants (during the day), and a rental for lifejackets / snorkel / etc, you can book some tours on Downbelow. and the resort also offers a few specials on (dinner on the beach, BBQ, picnic basket, ...) All in all, we liked it really well on Manukan. The day trippers not really bother us, but it is also pretty cool, if you have the island from late afternoon almost alone for themselves. For us it was exactly what we had imagined. We did not want to be so far away from KK, a beautiful beach and a nice room, have to go a little snorkeling and walk a little. Those who place more emphasis on marine life, should perhaps rather long way from KK (eg Mantanani Iceland or, probably best to Semporna). But we have felt very comfortable and special and can highly recommend it. Which is a shame (for which the resort but nothing can), the many garbage which is not only washed ashore from the sea, but is mainly caused by the day trippers. People throw everything away easily or leave it. In addition, an extra is that one should not use plastic bags in the shops but they are used for all sorts of things.

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Wonderful"

Review by: SydneyJW | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a fantastic experience. Noel and the team have covered all the bases which makes for a wonderful and genuine safari reminiscent of the original African model. The camp is well equipped with tents spaced to afford privacy, offering large beds and private bathrooms. The food was just excellent throughout our stay. We saw a variety of wildlife including leopards and were grateful to Noël for sharing his photos after a camera malfunction. From my original contact with Sophie everything flowed seamlessly and made for a great stay.

Muang La Lodge: "Séjour Inoubliable"

Review by: NathyChris62 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Nous venons de séjourner pendant trois jours dans ce lodge et n'avons rien à redire. La manager Raphael gère cet hôtel avec excellence. Grande attention à chacun de ses clients. Notre chambre était spacieuse, propre et décor avec beaucoup de goût. Les repas excellents et les serveuses adorables. Nous vous le conseillons si vous passez dans cette région."

Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "Beautifully well preserved"

Review by: LauFou63 | Source: tripadvisor.com
This hotel is really special. The building and the rooms are just breathtaking. The attention to detail and the original features really set it apart. I loved the light switches! The location is great, really close to everything yet completely quiet and tranquil as soon as you walk through the gates. The staff is really friendly as well and were always available for whatever we needed. Overall, great value and would definitely stay there again.
