MesaStila: "Amazing MesaStila"
Just spent an amazing weekend here for our wedding anniversary. Lovely and peaceful, with views of Mt Merapi, in the middle of a coffee plantation. Beautiful Dutch colonial buildings and traditional Indonesian houses, fantastic food and wonderful staff. Tour of the coffee plantation was fascinating. Only 1 hr drive from Semarang airport (or 2 hrs from Yogya), so great for a weekend away from Jakarta!Dewakan: "A star on the fine dining stage of Malaysia"
Let me go straight to the point. We went here mid October and tried Dewakan's 17 course menu, one regular and one vegetarian (available upon request when you make your reservation). They dealt with the vegetarian request so, so well. The kitchen created completely new dishes that they'd never had on the menu before - razor clams, squid, red snapper, mushroom tarts, you name it. All presented and explained really well. Lots of delicious courses on both menus. The highlights were the duck (roasted to perfection), the lowland vegetables, the prawn umai, the mango curry and the slow cooked red snapper. The rice porridge with razor clams was also a pleasant surprise (served with ox tongue on the non-vegetarian menu). The service was great and the venue is nice and stylish. Dewakan is a little off track, probably a 35-45 mins drive from KLCC, but it's so worth it! Next time (because we will come back), I also hope there are sweet wines/ dessert wines available by the glass too. Cannot wait!Mie Cafe: "Charming, Delicious and Pretty"
We had a wonderful dinner here. Glad we made reservations as people were turned away. I had the vegetarian price fixe. It was perfect. Nice flavors and charming setting. we sat outside and could still see the prep work in the kitchen. I would highly recommend.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Fantastic Stay"
"Four of us stayed at Neeleshwar over the new year period. Staff are amazing and the spa fabulous. The resort does its best to make your stay peaceful. The pool is a very good size and the beach breathtaking. Our cottages were beautiful, clean and in very good condition. We absolutely loved the seafood restaurant on the beach. It is an adult environment so sometimes noisy children can distract from this. The resort probably needs to be MORE clear with parents that only well behaved children and parents who take responsibility for their children should stay here."Hotel Tugu Bali: "A slice of Balinese paradise"
Bali is quickly being taken up by new large resorts and modern villas, they of course have their place and their charms. If however you are looking for a true slice of Balinese paradise look no further than Tugu in Canguu. An amazing stay in a truly beautiful hotel, authentic Balinese architecture, furniture, decorations and landscaping. Their breakfast menu was superb, we could not get through it all in the four days we were there. Their cocktail menu was fantastic and lounging by their pool was bliss. The location in the middle of up and coming Canguu area is excellent located for stopping off at some of the more quieter beaches and should you wish a more chilled beach club to have fun in, The Lawn is only a few minutes’ walk away. The staff, led by Ari and Jenny were some of the most genuine, friendly and attentive I have ever experienced. My family and I were so impressed. I couldn’t recommend this hotel any more - believe all the other five-star reviews before this one and trust the many others that will follow.Tugu Bali: "Boutique Hotel in the heart of Canggu"
"We stayed here for three nights having previously visited the Lombok Tugu hotel last summer. The hotel is everything we have now come to expect of the Tugu brand. The staff are very well trained, very accommodating and very helpful. the rooms are spread out around the grounds in a series of old style Indonesian houses, with 1 or 2 upstairs apartments and 1 or 2 downstairs garden apartments depending upon which room you are allocated. We were fortunate in that we had an upstairs room in one of the smaller houses (only 1 room upstairs and 1 room downstairs). The room was well appointed with an enclosed balcony but one which had windows which could be opened to all the sea breezes to blow through. It exudes old world charm yet has all the creature comforts one expects. The grounds and communal areas are beautifully presented and stacked full of Indonesian antiques. The hotel offers a quiet oases of comfort within the bustling and vibrant Canggu area. There is a large lawned area adjacent to the beach which is where we spent most of our time during the day. If you have never been to a Tugu hotel, you will marvel at how they manage to blend the old ways and charm of Indonesia in with the modern conveniences required by the present day traveller"Tugu Lombok: "Second time…. in Hotel Tugu… even better"
"My wife and I had the chance to come back to Hotel Tugu, in Lombok... You know that when the first time is memorable, your expectations for the second time might become a bad reference. This is not the case in this hotel. We planned, this time, more than three days of stay... this time it was a week!. We discovered some new and wonderful corners of the hotel; we walked along the wide beach... almost alone, just some fishermen coming back or reparing their nets.... that's only can be experienced over there... all connected to the hotel. The staff remembered our names and, even the type of breakfast we used to have.... that's only can be expected in Hotel Tugu Lombok. Palm trees, green grass and white sand... together with the coral reefs at walking distance! !!.... all the staff led by Elly and Henry do an outstanding job. ... you gave us a lot of happiness!... Thank you all for your warming care.... I hope other travelers are going to have the chance to enjoy as we did."Rachamankha: "Secluded heaven"
This hotel is wonderful. Although Chiang Mai is nothing like Bangkok in terms of traffic it is Thailand's second largest city and can be very busy in places. This hotel in the old town is down a really quiet street yet you can walk to the temples, shopping areas etc very easily. It is beautiful - you can tell that it has been designed by architects. The staff are helpful and polite. The whole place exudes calm. Our room was lovely and the pool area is just stunning and never seems to be that busy. Breakfast was fantastic and we ate there one night and had a great dinner too. I would definitely stay here again when in Chiang Mai.Villa Song Saigon: "Luxury by the river"
This hotel oozes luxury at every pore, and they have thought of every detail. The room was magnificent with a comfortable bed, beautiful interior and lovely bath soaps. Service was fantastic - helpfully booking dinner for us on each night and arranging for taxis to take us there. The food was amazing - so much so that it was a struggle (that I lost on each occasion) not to overeat at breakfast. The spa and massage was luxurious, the pool looked beautiful, and the riverside setting is beautifully peaceful. In fact my only criticims is that in making the hotel so very comfortable it was difficult to drag ourselves to leave to explore Ho Chi Minh!Manda De Laos: "Amazing restaurant"
This is the most beautiful restaurant that we've been. Very nice set up with a beautiful garden. Relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The food is so delicious and tasty with traditional flavor.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
