Arumdalu: "Calming Escape from Urban Life"

"If you ever find yourself in a sea-tuation in need for a peaceful green retreat and a doze of Vitamin Sea, then the answer you're looking for is Arumdalu Private Resort in Belitung. My first-ever trip to Belitung and Arumdalu surpassed all my expectations of a private resort in a small developing island- less known than Bali. We stayed a total of three days and two nights. Absolutely ah-ma-zing! Throughout our stay, the staff members are all very friendly, extremely polite, and offer helpful services 24/7. On my very first night, we were having trouble with the wifi connection from our multiple devices. It was past midnight when I called the front desk for assistance. The receptionist assisted us for a long time over the phone and maintained his professionalism all throughout. We were very thankful for his patience and kindness. The whole facility is really gorgeous, with beautiful architectural details and greenery. Everything seems to be thoughtfully designed and managed for the sole purpose of comfort and privacy. This place offers absolute privacy (underlined and bolded.) On top of its general secluded location and the private beach, each villa is designed with complete privacy in mind: gated entrance, dense greenery as partitions between villas, and a personal swimming pool. There is also a sense of exclusivity through minimal interaction with the staff on daily basis. For instance, there is no specific timeframe for room cleaning service and the staff wouldn't knock on your door to clean up your space. Everything is only a phone call away. How convenient! Another highlight is ‘Sahang Beachfront’ restaurant. The restaurant evokes a strong cozy ambiance. The wooden glassed space with home-styled table decorations creates an extremely familiar intimacy. The veggies and fruits used as ingredients are organically grown and freshly picked from in their own garden. Bottom-line: the food here is worth the calories to satisfy your palate. Personal side note, as an architect that values design and craftsmanship as well as an avid believer of living a sustainable lifestyle, I feel an overwhelming sense of satisfaction staying in a resort that proactively shows and promotes its core values of their thoughtful quality design and eco-friendliness. Oh! Did I mention that I saw 6 dolphins by the shore while waiting for sunrise? Such a therapeutic comfort. The Twelve Hotel: "Absolute ruhe Oase"

"Das allerbeste an diesem Hotel ist der überaus freundliche und zuvorkommende Service. Das Frühstück war à la carte, alles frisch zubereitet, war richtig lecker. Ebenfalls wurden uns vorschläge gemacht was wir in Bangkok besichtigen können, und natürlich auch erklärt wie wir am besten dort hin kommen. Nach einem anstrengenden Tag in Bangkok haben wir es richtig genossen nach der Rückkehr ins Hotel in den Pool zu springen und uns auf den Liegen zu entspannen. Dieses Hotel ist eine richtige ruhe Oase im Trouble von Bangkok."

Maduzi Hotel: "Suprising Find"

"Another Small Luxury Hotel booking . Arriving at the hotel I was a little worried . The entrance is unassuming and you walk past a small bar area to a very small reception area but the suite was great when we went upstairs. Large bedroom , separate lounge/ work area Good bathroom with jacuzzi and wet room shower , separate toilet and separate dressing area / walk in wardrobe, free mini bar with soft drinks and water and a great coffee machine. Only dislikes in the room were the quite fierce aircon which was difficult to manage, the glass screen door on the toilet ( not as private as one would wish) and also the bed ,as in many Thai hotels ,was on on the firm side . Breakfast was delicious and went on until 2.30 . Free tea and coffee available all day in the bar such a welcome after a day trekking around . The staff were able to organise an evening out suggesting a great alternative after a first choice was unavailable . They were unobtrusive but available whenever needed Situation just off the junction with Sukhumvit is perfect for BRT and MRT . Would definitely use the place again . Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"

Samanea Beach Resort: "Perfect combination of luxury and comfort – peaceful and luxurious stay!"

"The rooms at Samanea are all villas decorated in traditional / colonial style, full of character and charm. My villa had an extremely comfortable king-sized bed, a lounge area with comfy sofa, and a full-sized desk for working. There was also a fully furnished patio that looked out toward the pool and the sea. The best part about the room was the bathroom. The toilet and sink area had a glass wall to the outdoor shower and soaker tub. A tall stone wall protected my privacy but I could bathe under the stars. Breakfast and all food at the restaurant was fantastic and they are in the process of changing their menu to include more vegan and vegetarian options, too! Terrific, peaceful and luxurious stay!"

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Relaxing and beautiful"

"This is a stunningly beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The quality of rooms, service and food were all exceptional. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did a couple of birdwatching walks - one in the afternoon and one in the early morning - with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. We also enjoyed a tour of the Glenburn tea factory, a walk down to the river and lesson in how to make momos - all with professional and friendly guides."

Villa Mathis: "Fantastic stay in a little piece of paradise"

"Stayed in La Villa Mathis for three days and enjoyed every bit of it. Me and my travel companion tremendously enjoyed the quiet ambience of the villa and the villa manager Christian was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. The villas have several swimming pools secluded from one to another and we felt like it is reserved specially for us! What a treat! The villa is located quite near with Seminyak strip and the villa staffs will assist you in arranging the transportation. The room was designed in a very thoughtful details and we felt like we can really switch off and rejuvenate in this place. Overall it is an absolutely amazing stay and we definitely will come back to Villa Mathis!"

De plus la direction est disponible en tout temps pour rendre votre séjour agréable et vous conseiller pour ne rien rater de ce beau pays."

Inle Princess Resort: "Wow"

The only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer. Thank you for an amazing visit. What a great way to celebrate our son's birthday. I can honestly say the two nights we spent at the Inle Princess R sort were the best two nights sleep I have had for a long, long time. Bliss, beauty and serenity. Highly recommended!

tugu lombok: "Magical place"

"I remember we arrived at Tugu around 9pm. While checking in two families arrived. They were on the same flight we were from Singapore. Looking all around I exclaimed ""What a beautiful place!""... And the guy next to me replied ""It's a magical place!"" That's what Tugu is. A magical place. It's not a luxury place, it may not be the best hotel you've ever been! But it may very well be an experience you will never forget. We enjoyed the Villa, the different places where we had dinners, the beach, the excursion to the Gili islands and overall we enjoyed the people. Thank you for let us fell so well! "

Mie Cafe: "my number two in Siem Reap"

nice, small restaurant with friendly staff and good, innovative food. We were very well taken care of and left the restaurant happy. And for all those Swiss who know what a "Röstiraffel" is, watch out for some of the lamps. Very nice and an excellent idea which I will copy at home! I can highly recommend this restaurant and I am happy that the owner of Wat Damrak told us to go there.
