Dewakan: "An Absolute Must Visit"
"If there is only one restaurant you can go to while you are in KL, then make it this one! I don't usually gush lyrical, but here is a young chef who combines well rehearsed classical technique with inventiveness and an open mind. Added to this is a philosophy that is not floridly wordy, but very much bound to the earth and to his own family traditions. Chef Darren sources his ingredients locally and lets his family recipes be part of his inspiration. So what should you expect? Beautifully prepared dishes with a distinct, sometimes subtle, sometimes strong local flavour, lots of freshness and a little playful fun. Overall, great, great food that you definitely must not miss out on."Maduzi Hotel: "Refreshed, rejuvenated, renewed"
"Was supposed to stay in another hotel w friend but through a last min change of plans, I made an impromptu booking for Maduzi as it fits my criteria of budget, proximity and also safety. The best things abt Maduzi: 1. Flexible check in timing allowed me so much more time to explore the city upon arrival. I'm impressed that at 7am, my room was ready and boy, the next point is the surprise I received. 2. Huge rooms are apparently something which Maduzi rewards her guests with as I had such a huge disappointment w another hotel the night before. Below are some photos to justify my claims. No kidding. Not only does the hotel set up instruction manuals for the various hotel amenities in the most interesting way through the form of comic strips, the management is set to impress and pamper the guest w: a. A huge walk in wardrobe B. A personal jacuzzi tub C. An impressive powder room beside the wash area D. Thoughtful mini bar in room refreshed on a daily basis E. A huge (I mean humongous!) deluxe bed that swallows you up F. Boss sound system. No kidding ok! G. Your personal coffee making machine in the room.... *hey management, you are just so into spoiling your guests are u?? I'm soooo loving it! 3. Location wise, how could the management have understood a girl's heart so well???? Besides being right opposite TERMINAL 21 (and that means you are near BOTH BTS AND MRT), Maduzi is also very well situated near the sukhumvit area. The strategic tie in w Oasis spa which provided 2 way transportation certainly made a girl's day shine brighter than a diamond. 4. Breakfast options are far from the same old same old boring buffet spread. Call me a bore, i was really expecting the normal fare such as toast, cereals, porridge blahx3. Imagine my surprise when a full selection of different cuisines presented as a full meal was offered. Not wanting to disappoint the usual crowd expecting a buffet spread, Maduzi offers a petite line of fresh fruits, yoghurt, mini croissants, cheese and salami platter tucked in a corner elegantly waiting for guests to help themselves in a delicate manner. What is this you call? Superb fine dining to help kickstart your day without the unnecessary extravagance. 5. As a solo travelled, safety is my top priority and while many other accommodation choices were presented which could be more convenient eg, on top of shopping malls et al, a girl just needs a safe haven for a personal quiet retreat yah? Enters Maduzi whose outlook appears to be a normal apartment along the road but is securely gated to ensure guests privacy and security at all times. I like it that the gates are well maintained by the diligent guards and it's not a flashy entrance for the guests but more reflective of a place which embraces personal retreat. The already-superb but can be better areas which I hope Maduzi can improve on is as follows: 1. May I have a swimming pool pls? It's impt that one can chill both body and mind at the same time and it's a pity I can't swim in such a nice place to enjoy the view and clear my head. 2. Blame it on myself for gg back late (~9pm) on a Saturday night. The road outside Maduzi may be a tad quiet and there was a guy behind me who splashed water on me as a prank. Thkfully it was a short walk and I was able to reach the hotel v quickly. May I suggest that a tuk tuk svc or pick up svc be made available for lady guests as a value added svc? The ladies will truly appreciate the kind thoughts of having their interests at heart. Last but not least, I just want to shout out in desperation, 'Why aren't there enough time for me to retreat in my room despite the late check out at 8pm?' My sincere thanks to the hotel management once again for allowing me to have this little enclave to chill, relax and refresh my mind. I truly wish I had more time to spend in the hotel just to enjoy its facilities which I didn't have time to explore eg the TV room, my welcome drink which I didn't cater enough time to claim and oh yes, time for another unwind session in the jacuzzi. Till the next time we meet again, you shall always be the best destination in BKK and I'm sure to come back again for more."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "my no 1 in Siem Reap"
Excellent food, excellent staff, nice owner who even walks up to the road to greet you there and walk you through the garden. Interesting fusion kitchen, nice but small wine list. Would go back there every day!Samanea Beach Resort: "Wonderful quiet paradise"
"We stayed 4 nights at this wonderful place. It is a bit outside Kep but you can easily catch a tuk tuk for 3 $. The staff were all so friendly and helpful all the time. The food was nice even though there was not that much from. Excellent happy hour with good drinks. Bungalows were big and very comfortable, clean and nice. Liked the outdoor bath! Can only recommend this place - wonderful and quiet"Inle Princess Resort: "Heavenly Spot"
This is a spectacular property. From the moment you approach this resort by boat, you feel tranquil and welcomed! To protect the peaceful nature of the resort, it is required that the long boats shut off their motors. You are paddled to the reception dock by a local paddling with his legs. The property is well laid out, with cabins spread out along the property. Some of them are lake view, others are pond view. The cabins are comfortable, with teak woodwork everywhere. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious and clean, with an outdoor (enclosed) shower to boot. The service is attentive. Overall, this is a relaxing, enjoyable property that strives to fit in with the local culture. The only downside was spooty internet access, but this is a minor detail which is easily overlooked. Highly recommended.Mathis Retreat: "au calme pres de ubud"
Hotel very pleasant due to its location and comfort. Comfortable room with small private garden. A small mention for the very cheerful hotel manager and compétente..Petit flat hotel was virtually empty so lack of ambiance.Premier hotel of our stay charrming BALI has 3 nights in 4 different boutique hotel.Jing’s Residence: "an excellent experience"
I highly recommend Jing's residence. Situated in the heart of the old town, it has kept the atmosphere of times past.Service is very good and the chinese breakfasts are for a european, an experience to be tried for your delightMaduzi Hotel: "Exceptional value boutique hotel in BKK"
"This was our final stop in BKK before heading home and stumbled across a deal on Agoda for $146 Australian in their classic room. We were blown away with the quality of the hotel and service. From the outside it's pretty underwhelming behind a concrete fence, but you are immediately welcomed by calm, restrained Japanese styling once you step into the lobby; I nice sense of calm from the heat and bustling streets. This place has impeccable decor yet it feels homely. The hotel only has 40 rooms. Plusses include the very large rooms, which include an enormous separate bathroom and jacuzzi. Extremely clean with quality fittings. Well sound proofed and very comfortable beds. The breakfast is different in a good way which was included in the room rate - you can order ala carte (all you can eat) with alternative choices as well as usual hot breakfast - I had the traditional Japanese classic breakfast which was fab (I thought breakfast was exceptional). Coffee was also fantastic (a rare find). You also get a free welcome drink of your choice. Happy hour (2 for 1 deal) also operates from 6pm-12am. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. There is flexible checkout at no additional cost (subject to availability). Interestingly there is a no tip policy! Short walk to Asoke BTS station and directly opposite to a 7-11 on the next corner. Have stayed at a lot of hotels in BKK and this would have to be one of the best ones; 5 star quality at a proportion of the price. As mentioned by other people, the only downside is that there is no pool if that's what you're looking for. Will definitely stay here again. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"Maduzi Hotel: "Splendid experience"
"I thought that it was really good with a choice of this hotel. This hotel is not big at all, but the room is large, and the size of Bet is too big to sleep alone. And it is the hospitality to be glad above all. A splendid smile of the hotel staff met the calm entrance when I entered. I will stay at this hotel again. Stayed March 2017, traveled solo"Babe: "Breath taking food in an amazing vibe"
"I went to Babe for my last dinner in KL and I couldn't find a better way to end my trip. Everything with this place is magnificent; the atmosphere, the interior, the staff and, of course, the food. I'm a vegetarian so usually it's a little bit harder for me to get that mind blowing experience I know a lot of meat eaters get when they are in places like this. However, this time that wasn't a problem. I tried eight of the vegetarian dishes and each one of them reached above my expectations. I started with the compressed caesar salad which was the best caesar salad I've ever had. Instead of bacon you got a crispy salty coconut flake - such an innovative way of making vegetarian food fun. The dishes kept on rolling in and the majority of them literally exploded in my mouth (when you go there you will understand what i mean). A must try is the watermelon carpaccio, the potato puré with onion jam and the beet root role. And also, if you are a fan of miso soup - it's the best I've ever had. Besides the food I had a couple of drinks and they all kept the level. Try the Malaysian tea - it's so delicious! When leaving this place it came to me that it won't be long until I visit KL again. Thank you Babe for giving me an experience I'll never forget."
