Satri House: "A gem of Laos"
My wife picked this hotel. I was very impressed with this choice. It was unbelievably comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Since we stayed more than a week here, we changed room twice to get different feel. Money was well spent.Satri House: "Escape into a world of tranquility!"
"Traveling in Asia can be stressful, so I was grateful for this all too short escape from reality at The Satri House. What a treat to be greeted with a welcome drink upon arrival! The staff really make an effort to make you feel at home. I chose economize by taking the local transportation from the Luang Prabang airport rather than the hotel pickup. This proved to be the right choice, as the airport is very organized for tourists with a set price and individual drop off at your hotel. My room was very comfortable, with fresh fruit and plenty of bottled water. Although the mini fridge was'nt stocked but you can order drinks.. As others have noteted, the walk into town was easy and enjoyable, taking you past many interesting sights. I would recommend to travelers who like to explore that you take your time and wander some of the side streets along the way... There is a fantastic 'hidden' restaurant just across the street. 'Manda de Laos'. Highly recommended for that romantic get away or restful retreat. My only regret was that I only had 2 nights to enjoy this wonderful place!"NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Something to remember at Noel’s Leopard Safari"
"My wife & I with two friends stayed at Noel's leopard safaris for one night. Did a safari & saw leopard (quite healthy & large) at about 6.30 pm on 13 August '15. This camp is beautiful, unusual and yet very comfortable (our honeymoon room was 5 star) and has a ""wow"" factor you don't find in many places. Very friendly staff, with superb service, also they serve some sumptuous meals (with local produce) with lovely wines and other spirits. We highly recommend this camp to anyone who loves wild life and appreciate efficient service. Thank you Noel, hope to see you again. Sharmaine & Roshan (Sydney,Australia) "The Samar: " Fantastic place to stay and Go Around to See Temples and City Center"
"I definitely enjoyed my stay there,it is actually very convenient to go around,to visit temples, explore city center and have a walk around. It is a very quite place,a sanctuary to hide yourself. Perfect place for family. "Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Exceptional in every way"
"My husband and I did the 7-day detox package, which includes yoga, meals made to suit our constitutions and health requirements, and 2 luxurious Ayurvedic treatments a day, plus consultation with their Ayurvedic Doctor. There's no doubt we've never felt better, but on top of that we were thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service, the kindness and attentiveness of the people who work there and the stunning gardens, pool and sea views. And the food is an art - fresh, creative, flavourful and satisfying. Truly a first class experience, with every detail attended to beyond our expectations. What makes this place special above all are the wonderful people who will make your stay more than just a vacation, but a lifelong memory. It may seem expensive, but it's worth every dollar! If you go, be sure to take their free bicycles out for a ride in the village! "Amata Lanna: "Fabulous hotel"
Small boutique hotel where the staff were always extremely helpful. The hotel is in the Lanna style so it feels cosy. Pool is small so the hotel is better if you plan to be busy sightseeing and want somewhere luxurious but near to the Night MarketJing’s Residence: "Magical"
Beautiful hotel. Great food and service and amenities with the exception that there is no television and internet is slow. Property was impeccably restored and the staff is very helpful and courteous.Maison Polanka: "An oasis indeed"
This lovely sweet hotel is indeed an oasis. It's location is so strategically located to give us the best night sleep. Waking up in a garden made us feel at home. Value for the money is backed up by the very professional service. I personally like the service the Khmer staffs rendered to us. Amazing pool too! Try the food they serve. AmazingGlenburn Tea Estate: "Perfect place to unwind and experience a tea plantation"
"What a wonderful place to finish an awesome trip to Sikkim and Darjeeling. The host and hostess, Faye and Will, greeted us after a very long drive from Yuksom, made longer by the landslides blocking the direct route. The Glenburn had sent a driver an hour and a half to meet us at a wonderful viewpoint with a delicious picnic as we were going to miss lunch. The rooms are all different and beautifully furnished. The evening meal served in a beautiful dining room around a large table where the guests can interact if they wish. We enjoyed a 2 and a half hour walk to the river through the tea plantation, with a well informed guide, where we were served a delicious lunch next to the two bedroomed lodge. I also had a massage in the spa which was amazing and so relaxing before being served afternoon tea and freshly made cakes on the verandah. This place is something special and I can recommend a visit to anyone who wants to experience tranquility with wonderful views of Darjeeling and Mt Kanchenjunga."Maison Polanka: "Natural luxury"
I recently stayed at Maison Polanka, it was such a welcome change and surprise to what I am used to staying; This Resort really is your home away from home; the staff welcome you like family, the intimacy of this place really has such a warm charm that makes you feel immediately at home; The team headed by General Manager Cathy, were exceptional, they were so attentive, friendly and could do enough to make our stay most memorable; I stayed in the Green room, which had an amazing balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens and the perfect retreat to relax, read a book with a gin & Tonic. They made all the arrangements for a private guide to Angkor Wat, where we went for the Sunrise, what a Magical experience, followed by a picnic on the river bank; this truly was one of the most remarkable experiences I have ever had. If you are looking for a relaxing, cosy place to stay I highly recommend Maison Polanka.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
