Tugu Lombok: "WOW"

From the moment we stepped out of the cab my mouth dropped! Tradition, yes and then some! Massive, manicured grounds, Infinity Pools everywhere, your eyes feast from one marvel to another! The staff couldn't be friendlier and more accommodating, they all knew my grandchildren's name in one day! If you wanted to have privacy the grounds are so massive you could have a secluded vacation here! Totally restful and awesome time here.

The Village House: "Fine Dining experience in a village life… Interesting"

"My 2nd visit to this resort since my last year stayed. This time was a bit different experience compared my previous because it's happened to be the yearly Rainforest World Music Festival 2016. It's full house and my 1st experience to stay in a dormitory style. Very clean and just nice with 6 beds in a room. I would categorize this as luxury dormitory style. For those who are planning to come for this yearly event, I would suggest you to stay around Santubong area where it easy for you to access to RWMF2016. The Village has taken over everything for their guests, hassle free during my stays here. To my surprised, our breakfast, dinner and supper are included during this period of time in one price. The most impressed was the 4 courses fine dining dinner set. Awesome!... The only downside of my stays here are the foods quality has dropped especially during breakfast time. Our ordered has taken wrongly and we were rushing to check out. Overall the foods are bit too salty. I can understand because of this festive has keeping the staffs so busy and tired but really need to maintain it quality. I will still come back again but not during any festive period."

The Island Lodge: "Perfect"

"We went on a Les Rives Cruise (two day cruise) and this was our overnight stop. I cannot fault this place. The swimming pool is wonderful and it's right next to the Mekong so you have wonderful unspoilt views. While swimming I spotted a kingfisher (or similar) just perched nearby. We enjoyed some lovely French wine with dinner and the food was very nice. I am vegetarian and I wouldn't say it's exceptional but there are enough options. The live music at dinner was also a wonderful touch. Breakfast was amazing - but a big risk of over ordering. The small cakes on arrival and by the pool were a lovely touch and tasted great. Our room had a wonderful view over the Mekong. I very much wished we'd stayed longer and it is the perfect place to relax. It's also a relatively small hotel so never feels crowded."

Rachamankha: "Gorgeous – memories to last"

My wife and I hosted our wedding here recently, and we cannot say enough good things about the hotel and the hotel staff. We visited several roughly comparable hotels in the Chiang Mai area, but none actually come close to what the Rachamankha offers. The hotel’s owner and architect have shown an exceptional ability to capture a sense of place and history, to create an immersive experience through architecture and design, and to pay tribute to the artistic histories and cultural life of northern Thailand and surrounding areas - yet without being heavy-handed, overly sentimental, or too pedantic. The hotel grounds are simply gorgeous: a serene series of courtyards that recall Thai and Chinese family compounds from another time. Throughout, the hotel is decorated by the owner’s personal collection of sculpture, paintings, decorative arts, and so on. The service is attentive and professional, and clearly extremely well-trained (discrete, welcoming, skillful). The suites are spacious, decorated exquisitely, and comfortably private - with superb lighting, as with the hotel grounds overall (among my favorite aspects of the hotel). The generous breakfasts are best enjoyed slowly with friends over the course of a morning, relaxing in the restaurant’s enclosed courtyard area. My wife and I particularly appreciated the hotel’s library, another intimate, tastefully appointed space that features a strong collection of works related to art, architecture, and design. I am an anthropologist, and my wife works at the UN. The larger brand-name hotels are generally uninteresting to us, but even the smaller boutique hotels we’ve encountered do not meet the standard set by the Rachamankha, combining singular character with all the amenities of a luxury hotel. We would especially like to recognize the Rachamankha’s former manager, who oversaw our wedding preparations and carried us through the big day - and who is now helping to mentor the hotel’s next generation (as it were) of management. From top to bottom the whole team at the Rachamankha were a godsend for our wedding, and we can’t thank them enough. If we could be more effusive without simply throwing out more adjectives and cliches, we would do so! Unforgettable place and people, so glad I stumbled upon it all some years back. In short, an understatement: we rather enjoyed our experience at and with the Rachamankha, and we hope to return often in coming years. You’ll surely want to do the same.

Heritage Suites: "Beautiful Oasis in this Amazing Place"

The wonderful feeling of this hotel began at the airport when you are collected in a vintage Mercedes - they give you a cool wet towel and a long cool drink. The hotel is slightly off the beaten track but it is such a beautiful place to return to at the end of a day of sightseeing and the peace and tranquility are priceless. We would not stay anywhere else. The staff were so accommodating (even when the roads outside flooded and they had to sandbag the entrance). The General Manager was always around and smiling and was so interested in what the visitors had to say. We had a bungalow which is larger than you will get anywhere else and had all the conveniences you could want or need. The pool and the food just completed the entire wonderful package. I didn't want to leave

Sanak Retreat Bali: "A retreat to remember"

"My wife and I stayed here for four nights as part of our honeymoon. We loved every minute of it. The most important part to us was how friendly the staff was. From management to restaurant and spa staff, everyone treated us so well. Management was very helpful in providing ideas for us to fill our days with activities and see the areas. They organized all of our excursions. The rooms are clean and have beautiful views of the rice field that the property is built next to. It was not bothersome to not have air conditioning due to the cool temperatures during the night and early morning. The pool is so clean and with great views. The spa was by far the best spa we had ever been to. It was also better than any spa we went to for the rest of our Bali trip (which included 3 different cities). Spa prices were slightly more expensive than in Ubud, but much cheaper than any 5 star hotels or U.S. cities. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. You have a fresh fruit juice, pancake or yogurt, eggs, bacon, toast with fresh jams, fresh fruit place, delicious balinese coffee or tea. We also had dinner at the restaurant every night. We found the food to be fresh and delicious, the waiters attentive, and prices affordable. During our four night stay we did a few activities, which I would highly recommend. The first day we took a little trek of the nearby rice fields which concluded wth walking into a waterfall. The scenery was beautiful, waterfall refreshing. The second day we took a tour of lake Lembongan. It included a guide which guides you through a short trek through a forest-type area, and a slow canoe ride. After Lake Lembongan, you make a stop at the Munduk waterfalls. Lastly, we tried the cooking class offered through the property. The young girl (named Ayu?) made us feel very comfortable and took us step by step through a yummy Balinese meal. Overall, we absolutely loved this property and the activities it offered in the surrounding areas and will definitely return again. (Please consider leaving small tips $1-3 for the staff at the spa and the restaurant/bar. It is by no means expected, but you could tell that it was much appreciated)"

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Contemporary luxury in a historic mansion"

"Checked into The (lovingly restored) Blue Mansion for a two-night stay in December 2016, my first visit despite having been past the building on previous trips to Penang. From the warm hospitality, comfortable beds, clean big rooms (lovely bathroom a big plus with me), antique furniture, breakfast in the courtyard to coming back to a dim sum basket of local 'kuih' (cakes / sweets) with a handwritten note every evening was a lovely touch - the whole experience was memorable and in my opinion, worth returning for. Pro tip: the hotel is conveniently located next to a food court serving local delights, and across Georgetown Wines for that cheeky vino or late night tapas - thank me later! The Mansion is also home to Indigo, a fine dining restaurant which I tried, enjoyed and highly recommend. For those wanting to learn about the mansion's history, guided tours by some very passionate locals run daily at 11.00am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm - definitely something to fit into your travel itinerary. All in all, a strong contender for a unique experience. Stayed December 2016, traveled with friends"

Villa Song Saigon: "The best luxury boutique hotel in HCM if not Vietnam"

"I will never forget this amazing experience. This place is an absolutely outstanding place to overnight, have only breakfast or maybe lunch or just diner, anything you chose will be an unforgetable time. The hotel staff is top 5star and the kitchen is even better. The chef and f+b manager is a truly artist of his kind, he is a magician and his food is like a firework in your mouth and spirit... You have to meet Kevin Marchetti, just ask for him you will be pleased to meet him. You will never forget the time you send at Villa Song ! "

Amata Lanna: "Enjoy Amata so much"

Spending a good time here, I don't want to leave, i will choose Amata to live next time. I will miss the fresh air and the beautiful flowers, also miss the people in this hotel, they are very enthusiastic, especially mis Yumi, she always smile for us, and help us solved the problems what we met! I'm looking forward to seeing Amata next time!

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "The Best – Delicious food, wine, amazing service"

"This was easily the best meal we ate in Cambodia. It was absolutely brilliant. The food was incredible. It uses Cambodian flavours with modern techniques and presentation. Most importantly though, everything tasted divine. Great wine list and excellent recommendations from the chef. Cocktails were also great. Service was perfect, friendly and helpful. Loved to see the chef speaking to people in the restaurant. Overall, cannot fault this meal and experience. Absolutely loved it."
