Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Great accomodation"
"Michael and staff are very kind and went through great detail to take care of my stay in Thailand. Arnold accomodated my taxing to Chaing Mai and was always on time. Excellent villa with a delicious breakfast served. The pool is refreshing and the wonderful classical music being played made my stay so relaxing. I will definitely book there again upon my return. Stayed March 2017, traveled solo"Les Maisons d’Itac: "BEST PLACE EVER! Suite Télémac ❤️"
"It's been a long time since I've been in the Philippines and it was his first time to go for a proper visit (stopped over on the way to Australia back in '99). I wanted to make sure he sees how beautiful the islands are and make him experience local culture and the Filipinos signature hospitality without compromising some luxuries. Boy, oh boy, this place made an impression! Our first time in Cebu coming from an awesome 3 days in Boracay, we thought this place will have to work really hard to impress us. We arrived at the Cebu Mactan airport and was picked up by a friendly ""Kuya"" that we arranged with Sir Bryan. His car was clean and he let us do a bit of shopping at the nearby Savemore supermarket while he waited at the parking lot. I admired his patience. He told us it'll take around 3hours to get to the resort and I thought we were ok with it. I am not a very patient passenger, plus we just came from a tiring flight and barely had time to rest. I kept thinking that I made the wrong decision with booking this property because it was miles and miles (and miles) away from the airport. Eventually, we arrived at the resort late at around 8pm and it was already dark so I was like, ""okay, give it a chance in the morning"". We were lead to our private villa and I was pleasantly surprised at how perfect it was with our own pool, 3 rooms, a hut and a cabana! Sir Bryan called one of the girls to fix us a meal and it was delicious. I am not kidding, it was. We were the only guests because it was the town fiesta (festival honoring the feast day of their patron saint) and Sir Bryan was worried that guests might not be happy with the noises the parties might cause. I was warned about this beforehand but we were totally ok and were actually planning to join the party. In the morning, we woke up and our jaws dropped after realising how gorgeous the whole property was. Breakfast was unforgettable, especially the fresh mango smoothie/shake (so sweet and not even a grain of sugar was added in it!). On other days we had different fruit shakes and the staff made sure they were all fresh and perfect. The food, as I've mentioned, is simply perfect. Loads of activities around and we were luck enough to join the fluvial parade during the town feast and we had so much fun chasing and trying to get the passengers on the other boat as wet with sea water as we can. We ended up getting back after around an hour soaked, but incredibly happy. We had our first try with stand up paddle-boarding and it was great! People who like their own space and respect other people's will fall in love with this place. The marine sanctuary right in front of this property is a great indicator they care about the earth. It is one of the best holidays and resort I've been to. We left with a heavy heart and wished we could've stayed a bit longer. Will definitely try and visit again if we ever go back to the Philippines."The Village House: "Love The Village House!"
"We have been to the Village House a few times. We keep going back because it is the perfect place to take in the Sarawak vibe. Beautiful rooms, great food (must try the Taste of Borneo tasting menu), but most of all a great group of people that run the place. We always feel at home and amongst friends while we are there. They can help you plan a day trip or a major excursion up the river to a long house. All in all, The Village House is a 10 out of 10. "Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "This is an adventure not a hotel"
Arriving after mid day we were presented with a fantastic lunch, and then, after a short break taken out on the first of our four safaris. Noel has the inside running on the gig. He knows how to avoid the crowds and where the animals are likely to be (picking up on the signs most of us look past or do not hear). He goes straight to the front of the line at opening time for a first run on the empty roads (which animals also find it convenient to run along). Noel uses Land Cruisers with proper rounded off road tyres and adjusted suspensions, and provides high quality binoculars which adds to the experience. The food and service, no doubt reflecting Noel's experience in the airline industry, was of the highest standard. The tents are true safari camping tents - not glorified hotel rooms dressed up as a night under canvas ("glamping") - but still comfortable and very much fit for purpose. Note there are no promises about what you will or will not see. If you want a 100 per cent guarantee as to spotting a Leopard I recommend a zoo - otherwise embrace the adventure.Mathis Retreat: "Un seul mot…fabuleux"
"We fell in love with this intimate hotel with magnificent views of a rice field ... The rooms are spacious and very clean and are limited in number which gives its charme.a hotel. Breakfasts are hearty and fresh. We had dinner every night at the hotel restaurant and the Terracotta entire card is excellent. We recommend the tuna tataki input a killer! The Mathis offers a free shuttle to downtown. Very friendly staff and very caring. In the evening we are surrounded by the sound of crickets and frogs ... the morning woken by birds .. the dream :-) "Tugu Malang: "Excellent deco, service and spa"
"Very nice hotel located close to train station (no need taxi). Many antiques collected by owner make hotel deco look unique with many rooms to discover and nice pieces of furniture. They know how to greet guests and make business: 15mn massage offered, very good local pastries with drink offered at tea time. Nice pool for children, good restaurant and cosy colonial bar. Great location to visit the town and the region. Very good surprise to find this hotel in this small town."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Make reservations way in advance"
I was warned to make reservations in advance (which I did) as the restaurant is small. Boy was I glad. It is a wonderful set menu in an intimate restaurant where the chef actually comes to meet the diners. My 10 y/o daughter did not finish her last dish (but of course she had the dessert) and they charged us only for 5 dishes for her instead of the set 6 dish menu. So very nice of them. Each dish was well presented and was delicious. A must try when in Siem Reap.Rachamankha: "精緻優雅的度假 Peaceful, Beautiful Hotel with Culture"
Very peaceful, beautiful hotel. I like the public areas in the hallway, it's comfortable to sit outside of the room and chat with friends. The hotel is rebuild on the base of an old Lanna manor, so some of the facilities (such as the number and position of sockets, or the small shower room) were not as modern as newly built hotels, but it was good enough. Located in a quiet alley, but just 2 min walk to reach the main street. (Be careful many taxi drivers may mistaken here with another Hotel Rachamanhka near by). Friendly staff. Nice experience."Sukoon Houseboat: "paradise"
We had a lovely time at Sukoon. High end houseboat with heating, fancy bathroom with a bath - it is a five star experience. It has a lovely sun deck - perfect to lounge in the evening sun, read a book, just watch life go by and sundowners. It is in one corner of the Dal lake so pretty private. Highly recommended!Tandjung Sari: "A Slice of Heaven"
"Our second stay at Tandjung Sari was as wonderful as the first. We were looked after in every way by the beautiful staff at this special Hotel. Our room was perfect, with a comfortable bed and an outdoor shower that is just devine. Breakfast each morning was very good with enough options to have something different each day. If you are looking for a place to unwind, relax and be completely spoiled then this is the place for you. Tandjung Sari is so much more than a hotel., it is a home away from home full of loving friends just waiting to take care of you. We will be back!"
