Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "More than excellent hotel on the lake"
"This hotel far exceeded expectations. We were drawn to this hotel because of their approach - not for profit organization which provides on-site vocational training to young people in the region providing them a skill set in the ever growing hospitality industry. - Property/rooms nicely designed & well-maintained. - Housekeeping staff great. Rooms thoroughly cleaned. Great turn down service. - Restaurant staff also great. Helpful and had good command of English language. - Breakfast and dinner was delicious. Extra star for breakfast - homemade baked goods and jam! I've had over cooked scrambled eggs in many places. But not here! - Gift shop was great. All their products are from disadvantaged community groups around the area so what you buy goes back to support their livelihood. - Loved the organic vegetable garden growing on property. - Only thing average was massage service. Not sure they are properly trained. Only regret is that we didn't stay longer! I was pleasantly surprised to see the caliber of service from these student trainees we received. To the management - whatever training program you have designed, you have done it extremely well! Please keep up these standards! Stayed March 2016, traveled with family"Sandat Glamping Tents: "Incredible experience"
During the New Year break my boyfriend and I stayed at Sandat Glamping Tents for 2 nights. We currently live in Singapore and although it wasn't our first trip to Bali it was our first visit to Ubud. On arrival we were instantly blown away by what Sandat had to offer. The architecture is just incredible! We stayed in Lumbung Legong and I can honestly say it was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. There was so much attention to detail and the place was spotlessly clean. Not only is the bedroom spacious and comfortable but you also get a large area downstairs to lounge around in or escape the sun in the afternoons. It is also very private. The bathroom is outside which makes for a wonderful and unique experience. Breakfast was fantastic (and I am very picky!) and we enjoyed a wonderful massage one afternoon by our room. The best thing about the whole experience is that you really feel like you are in paradise. The staff don't disturb you or fuss over you yet they cater for all your needs. It's a small resort therefore you feel extremely well looked after (...) A truly incredible and unique experience. I can't wait to go back in a few weeks!Villa Song Saigon: "Heavenly place!"
Excellent option when visiting Saigon: you have the dynamism of one the most vibrant cities of Asia with the quietness of the hotel by the river, Villa Song. Service was excellent (recommending the Vespa Tour and some outstanding restaurants). I will come back for sure.Rahai'i Pangun Wildlife River Cruises: "Orangutan spotting in comfort"
"Wow Borneo’s trip on their comfortable boat for three nights and four days gave us a real insight into Borneo, it’s jungle and wildlife. On spotting our first orang-utan we thought we were in luck but then to find 7 in a group was wildly beyond our dreams with them even coming to the waters edge for a closer inspection of us. A tree full of hornbills and 2 Proboscis Monkeys completed the talley for the day. On the last morning we were taken to a village only accessible by boat to be greeted by the Elder, Pak and a welcoming ceremony with children learning the ancient ritual. Pak took us to the jungle to see trees and spices growing, explaining their medicinal properties and the need to protect the jungle. We need more Paks to safeguard the forests and environment of Borneo. On the boat we were lucky to be the only guests and the staff looked after use beautifully. Meals were all freshly cooked using local delicacies and our guide was attentive throughout. The cabins are perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable. Take a trip with Wow Borneo now before the world finds this gem."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Simply the BEST"
"Rarely does one find a jewel like this, where staff and owner are welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much. Marcus and his team really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable, relaxing, rejuvenating. Then comes the view : simply breathtaking. And the cozy rooms in chalets built of local materials, all conscious of the environment and preserving it. And the delicious food : you can have just about anything you feel like, and much of it comes form their own organic garden, simply delicious! Thank you TMPL for a most relaxing holiday, without noise pollution! I will be back for sure."Mie Cafe: "Amazing food and service"
I came here for lunch by myself and was amazed by the pleasant environment. I sat at the garden and the staff nicely put 2 fans facing me. The food was great - I had beef tartare which was marinated with local herbs and topped with plenty of parmesan cheese. I also had the fish amok which is a classic Khmer dish. The meal was ended with a homemade vanilla ice-cream. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Out of the ordinary"
The Maison Wat Kor is a unique resort just outside Battambang. Right in a local village with chickens and cows just outside the gate. The resort is very beautiful with the feeling of beeing in the middle of a forest. Friendly staff and very good foodVilla Song Saigon: "elegant colonial house"
We booked the imperial suite and didn't regret it. Huge in size, wonderful bathroom with riverview and 2 balconies, one on the river and a smaller to to poolside. Villa Song Saigon is a peaceful retreat in an elegant area full of colonial houses. We loved the whole interior of the house, this french colonial style, bright and airy. The front desk arranged a private trip for us to the cu chi tunnels, the tour was organized well. Both days, we took the shuttle to town (only bus available when we stayed there), it was a short ride about 15-20 minutes and comfortable. Breakfast was good, also our asian lunch. Snacks are also available by the poolside. We loved our stay here, although it was a bit far out of Saigon Center.Talabgaon Castle: "An amazing off the beaten path place"
We were staying for one night in this heritage hotel, to break our journey between Agra and Jaipur. It is on the village of Talabgaon and the castle is an oasis away from the hustle and bustle. We stayed at the ground floor suite on the main castle, it was very comfortable and spacious with all amenities. The owners were very kind and hospitable, even taking care of the accommodation of our driver and guide and genuinely care about people in the village. At night we were sitting on the pool side, having our dinner under the sky with the entertainment from the local village, very memorable experience. It also allow us to have a glimpse of rural India life. Definitely something special!Villa Song Saigon: "Perfect end to a fantastic trip"
"What a perfect way to end a fantastic trip to a fantastic country. The riverside setting is an ideal way to relax after the hustle & bustle of the city. We were warmly greeted by the ever so friendly staff who, once again put other countries to shame with their 'can do' attitude where nothing is too much trouble for the guests staying here. We were lucky to get a complimentary upgrade to a villa room with balcony overlooking the pool and can recommend this type of room. The bathroom was a little small to be honest but as we spent our time in the city, the bathroom becomes immaterial as you just use it to shower after all. We had dinner at the waters edge on the 1st night and Kevin (the chef) took his time to explain the dishes and the best wine pairing - spot on Kevin! The setting is so relaxing and even romantic and with great food makes it a perfect end to the day. The breakfasts are plentiful and fresh, and eaten either at the riverside or in the air conditioned restaurant. A platter of fresh fruit, freshly squeezed fruit juice, coffee and your choice from the menu - I chose the full English and the eggs benedict during our stay and they were a great start to the day of exploration of Ho Chi Minh City. The water taxi runs about every couple of hours and is a 20 minute adventure to the city where you feel like royalty cruising up the river in the speedboat. This is a free ride and well worth the experience rather than sitting in a taxi. The last boat back is 7pm which gives you enough time in the city to explore the numerous happy hour cocktail lounges after the heat & humidity of the day. Back to the hotel review......staff were amazing and very attentive and the hotel manager even had one of his staff accompany us to the optician to translate for us as my wife wanted to buy prescription sunglasses - the hotel service was second to none. The complimentary mini bar is so welcomed after a hard days shopping that you forget about the amount of dong that you couldn't seem to get rid of on your shopping excursion - everything is so cheap! The mini bar has water, soft drinks and a couple of beers to relax on the balcony with as you watch the sunset over the city. We were allowed to keep our room on our last day until we left for the airport at 4pm which was great as we could use the pool then get showered without having to sit around waiting, and again, this was free of charge even though the hotel was preparing for a special event that evening. Nothing was too much trouble. A thoroughly recommended hotel just far enough away from the city, set in a very tranquil, riverside location where everything was just about perfect (I know I've used that word many times but the hotel deserves it)"
