Sandat Glamping Tents: "Elegance and discretion"

Review by: Asiadvisor001 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Just outside Ubud, in a quiet and green valley , surrounded by a beautiful garden where every plant has been carefully selected, Sandat Glamping has 5 tents... all decorated differently, each with a plunge pool overlooking a small river. Attention to details from the linen, to the chandelier, the glass, the curtains... very good taste from the owner. For those who do not look for a hotel, but appreciate refined style... just like at home... but better!"

Rachamankha: "felt like I was in a movie"

Review by: Joy K | Source: tripadvisor.com
This hotel is an oasis in the middle of the mad old city of Chaing Mei. The hotel is like something out of an old movie, and one expects Hercule Poirot or Humprey Bogart to stroll through one of the doors and no one would take any notice. My husband and I stayed for six nights and thoroughly enjoyed the place, and even after six nights we were still staring at the beautiful serene surrounds. One of the great benefits was to use the hotel car on out of town excursions of which I thoroughly recommend. However things worth looking out for is the tuk tuk lurking outside the gates. This guy will try to organise your itinerary for your whole time to suit his time and purse, resist and do not try him out, and beware of the hotel staff recommending him as this guy will drop off where you certainly dont want to go

David’s Kitchen: "One of the best meals I’ve had"

Review by: Meg W | Source: Trip Advisor
Incredible food, amazing service, and a nice but unpretentious atmosphere. David came by and had a conversation with each of the tables to make sure we were happy. I loved every minute of it, highly recommended.

Yandabo Home: "Paradise on Irrawady"

Mathis Retreat: "No words can explain this place"

Review by: laukla | Source: Trip Advisor
"After two nights we've decided to extend our stay! It's a romantic place This place us right in the middle of the rice fields, impressive nature the only noise you get here is from the nature, green all around. We had a really good massage surrounded by nature The service is great and polite, their Terracotta Restaurant is one of the best of this area, we had an amazing dinner here. The management is very helpful, they gave us lot of advices."

Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Lovely"

Review by: stephan j | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is our second visit to Golden Buddha, the first was 4 years. I would say that many things have improved since then, First and foremost, the new manager, Massi, is truly wonderful - what a change! The restaurant have been rebuilt and now looks more smart, a new shop has been added and a pizza bar near the beach has been built. The staff is extremely friendly and smiley - many thanks to Nin, who works at the restaurant - she is a gem. The massages, we had one every day for 11 days are great too. We loved the food, but I think guests would welcome a slightly wider selection of dishes. The villas are truly well kept and very comfortable - I would recommend staying in a beachfront one and away from the restaurant. You also may want to check how close your particular cottage is to the neighbouring one. the island, with its long, deserted beaches is unique. the fact that there are truly just 3 resorts, of which Golden Buddha is the smartest, remains a big plus to us. There are a couple of things we were not too keen on. I should say that we decided to return to Golden Buddha to relax, enjoy the peace and quietness and pick up yoga again. Since our last visit the resort seems to have become popular with families with young children. Whilst some kids were well behaved, others where not and it made dinner and breakfast at the clubhouse less enjoyable that it might have been. The biggest disappointment were the yoga classes. Alex, the so called teaches ranted at each lesson about, what he called, new age yoga. Basically everything but the pure original yoga. He therefore stated that he was tracking Indian gymnastic instead. What was most annoying was his lack of interest and the fact that he did not want to correct people, hence, in my view, did not teach at all. Lastly, prices for food and massages were a tini bit high I thought and I would recommend that the resort buys lounge chairs for all its guests. In any case, I would still highly recommend Golden Buddha,. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Mathis Retreat: "Small and personal, out of the way of the hustle and bustle"

Review by: W8798TWdenisk | Source: Trip Advisor
This small boutique hotel is just a short car ride away for the busy Ubud area. The service is impeccable from the minute you arrive. If you are interested in seeing the sites guided the hotel manager is happy to arrange a private guide. The rooms while nothing over the top fancy are quite large and have a wonderful view of the rice paddies that surround it and are very clean and well maintained. The infinity pool while we were there was quite cool but that is to be expected for November. The restaurant on site is an open air area with a roof, with a nice of the area. The menu while not large has excellent food choices which are all quite good. We did not have a bad meal here. Prices were reasonable for the restaurant, rooms and the spa facilities. There has been a change in ownership which was happening about the time we were staying there, my hope is that it has been a seamless change as it truly is a little piece of paradise.
