Tugu Bali: "A lovely stay at Tugu Bali"
"I stayed at one of their Dedari suites and it was a very pleasant stay. Beautiful room with a lovely bathroom (you can see the fish pond from the bathroom). Tugu Hotel is known as one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in the world. It has a fascinating collection and walking around the hotel was really enjoyable. Tugu Hotel Bali is located a few meters away from Batu Bolong beach and they have their own garden next to the beach, which allowed me to enjoy sunset privately. Besides their hospitality and fascinating collection, I am a big fan of their massage (the spa room is beautiful!) and the cultural evening (and dining). One of those places where you really can't wait to go back to."Villa Song: "A very special place!"
"As many have said, Villa Song is a bubble of peace and tranquility in a chaotic and noisy city. I would thoroughly recommend it. The boat is a great way to get to the city. The room (Art Suite) was beautiful, with river views. If I was to be critical about one thing, it would be the restaurant menu. The kids menu was excellent, however the regular menu we found a bit strange. It was fusion-ish! Strange combinations. It all tasted pretty good mind you, but I would prefer to see more true Vietnamese on there. Personal taste perhaps. A real gem. We will be back for sure! Gareth."Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "Peaceful cruise on Bassac III"
We did an overnight cruise on the Bassac III boat on 6/7 Dec 2017. It was an excellent way to see some of the Mekong Delta, combined with some relaxation and wonderful food. The crew were friendly and welcoming and the trip very well organised. The cabins are very small but comfortable and the small ensuite bathroom ingeniously designed. The food was plentiful and delicious. We visited a floating market and a local market and particularly enjoyed the visit to a local village, where we tasted fruit at a local house. Our young guide was delightful and, as she came from the area, she was able to give us a good insight into the daily life on the Mekong. This trip is highly recommended.Inle Princess Resort: "Prime Position"
A beautiful place in an idyllic setting. Spacious chalet with outside deck whetjr one has Lake View or Pond View (slightly less expensive. Excellent breakfast and very good dinner. Binoculars and bird book a very nice touch. No tv anywhere. Wi-fi not available in guest rooms, only in reeption and dining area (although we had good wiifi in our chalet number 102. Approach is by motor boat from town about 30 minutes away althogh last 500 yards is by leg rower so there is little noise disturbance. Consider your return to Heho airport by car all the way (omitting the 30-minute boat ride and loading and unloading luggage) which save about half an hour on the journey. The final touch -- it was my wife's birthday on the dy we left and sh had a sing and a cake from the staff at 0630 in th morning and a beautiful silk skirt as a present from the owner himself who seems sincere about greening Burma and providing social benefits to his employees and the local community.Muang La Lodge: "A little peace of paradise in northern Laos"
It takes a bit of effort to get there, but its secludeness is also part of its charm. The staff of this beautiful resort with only ten rooms does everything to make your stay pleasant and memorable. There are no strict rules, except for enjoying yourself as much as possible. If you would like to stay in a tranquil, beautiful and comfortable resort and value quality over quantity, this is the place to be. Especially the five course dinner which combines the best of French and Asian cuisine is worth mentioning. If you prefer an easy getaway with all standard 5-star hotel facilities and an all-you-can-eat buffet, this is not the place for you.Samanea Beach Resort: "Highly recommended as excellent accommodation for Kep and Kampot"
Our stay was six nights in the junior suite overlooking the pool and the water. The grounds are wonderful, peaceful, secluded and private. The rooms are high quality although a few small maintenance issues could have made them excellent plus upgrade to delux bathroom towels. Outside shower and bath with privacy and nature. Onsite is Chankiri Restaurant providing exception meals and the best cocktails. For those travellers that value privacy, nature and quiet. Highly recommended.Dewakan: "Amazing culinary experience"
We have such lovely dining experience there and feel really proud to have such good quality fine dining in Malaysia. We love how they tweaked the local ingredients in every single dish they served even for the cake we separately ordered for our friend (we were there for birthday celebration). The cake was so beautifully presented and the birthday girl was very happy and satisfied with the cake (jackfruit with creamcheese) and of course the entire dinner.Satri House: "Wonderful stay in Luang Prabang"
"Not by the river, this hotel is nested a 5 minutes bicycle ride from the city attraction. It is a beautiful house, and the maintenance of this heritage house is just superb. Plenty of alleys, smalls buildings set-up on two different levels, it is a pleasure to gaze around, and discovering each corner. The rooms are specious, exceptionally clean, and the quietness over there is to be treasured. A big thank you to the personnel, who has been dedicated to attend every little request from us."Tugu Lombok: "Lombok at its very best"
"My partner and I have just returned home from a 12 night stay with the Tugu family. We spent 6 nights in an Aloon Aloon villa and 6 in a Svarga villa. Both rooms were large, with comfortable beds, good (partial outdoor) bathrooms, great air conditioning, and everything you could possibly need or wish for (except a hairdryer, which wasn’t a major problem). We booked airport transfers through Tugu which were like mini tours in themselves, we saw the monkey forest en route to Tugu and the beach roads on the way home. The welcome we received from every single member of staff was warm, genuine and gracious. The gardener even presented me with flowers every morning as we walked to breakfast. We enjoyed 2 different massages at the spa which were both very good, and one was complimentary. Both restaurants were great, and the food was consistently excellent, always well presented and with daily specials too. One evening we ate on the temple roof which was a lovely experience. Tugu arranged 2 trips for us, a panoramic waterfall walk and a day trip on the dragon boat to the Gili islands. We enjoyed both, but particularly the Gili trip; as we are novice snorkellers Nana and Sama our guides were very patient and we had a brilliant day and spent hours snorkelling around the coral reefs and saw many turtles. On my birthday the staff sang to me and gave me a lovely cake, and our room was decorated brilliantly with animals shaped from towels and candles and flowers. It was very special. An even lovelier surprise was they did the same thing the next night, which was our last night at the hotel! A completely different selection of animals made from towels. We enjoyed every moment of our time at Tugu. It is a peaceful, friendly, welcoming hotel which we hope to return to many more times. It is quiet, relaxing, maybe not for those seeking a wild nightlife as it is quite remote, but that is exactly what we wanted. Thank you particularly to Henry, Elly, Ruslan, Mahmud, Dedy, and Ige(?) Agus. We don’t recall the name of the towel arranging experts but they should have their own TV show just about towel arranging! We can’t wait to return to Tugu. Thank you again to everyone for such a lovely stay."The Island Lodge: "A SMALL PARADIS"
It was the end of our trip and we did not have much time. Nevertheless, we wanted to see the Mekong Delta. After some Internet research, I wanted to come to this lodge. In addition, it was not too far from HCMC. They sent a car. When you arrive, you wonder where you are. And you discover the lodge: an incredible location along the Mekong (private jetty), an incredible design with beautiful objects everywhere. gorgeous room with a view ... wonderful, warm pool. Attentive staff. Kitchen (in Vietnamese or French choice) delicious. We did a fantastic treatment at Spa. There are lots of activities on offer. We opted for the tour of the island next to bicycle and boat. It was beautiful and enjoyable. Anyway, congratulations to Michel and Françoise have created this little corner of dreams where everything is perfect, for which we have only one regret: not to stay longer. Thank you all for having contributed to the excellence of our trip. Helene and Jean-Michel Verdon
