The Island Lodge: "Fantastic Retreat"
"Just spent one night at The Island Lodge on the Mekong Delta and must say that the facilities were fantastic. Everything was well thought out as to what you needed. The pool, the rooms and the food. The people that ran this hotel were so friendly. Very relaxing. Would recommend this to singles, couples and families. Excellent. Room Tip: All rooms in hotel face the Mekong. The suites are in the garden."Maison Polanka: "A huge slice of heaven"
"This is the most gorgeous place you could ever stay in your travels. Cathy, Francis and all of the staff are incredible and make you feel like this is your home. From the moment you arrive everything is perfect - the immaculate grounds, the stunning pool, the delicious food, the beautiful rooms, every detail is considered. It's only a 5 minute tuk tuk ride from the town centre but it's far enough away that you're in peace. The staff will help to organise trips, buses, tuk Tuks when you need. Although to be honest you may well want to just stay here! That way you can indulge in as many massages as possible. There's no more building work next door so it's back to a quiet haven again. Stay here! Whatever else you do in Cambodia, stay here! As an aside, ask Cathy to put you in touch with Debbie - a fantastic nia instructor who lives nearby and runs retreats."NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Memorable and fun packed 2 day safari in Wilpattu"
"We had high hopes for the 2 day safari, and were not disappointed! Pila was our naturalist host and he drove the jeep and hosted us throughout the safari. He is a knowledgable and experienced guide, very committed to providing a wonderfully memorable and diverse experience. We saw many varieties of birds, mammals and reptiles, often thanks to Pila's sharp and expert eyes. He was happy to provide as much information as we wanted, and carried a selection of reference books on the jeep to add background information to what we were seeing. The highlight was seeing 2 leopards, one up close and magnificent! But we were also delighted by the mongooses, deer, mugger crocs, jackals, painted storks, eagles, brown fish owl, langurs, monitors, turtles, woolly neck storks, adjutants, kingfishers, bee eaters, and many other stars. Pila also educated us about the flora and especially species unique to the area. We observed other professional park guides greeting Pila with respect and deference and realised we were fortunate to be with one of the best. The campsite was in a very natural setting. We had the impression it was actually within Wilpattu National Park, which isn't the case. It's about 15 minutes drive to the entrance. However there were only short queues and the campsite location was fairly peaceful and very beautiful, with plenty of natural sights and sounds. The cook and team produced delicious and beautifully presented food, and all manner of lovely small touches. Cold towels on arrival and each return from game drives, a small library of reference books, torches, campfire, refreshing King coconut water, warm showers on request, solar powered lights in the tent, gorgeous fresh fruit, 4 course meals with plenty to go around. Our first night was on a full moon night, Poya celebration for Buddhists. It was very special to be served a wonderful moonlit dinner in this amazing setting. The second day we were joined by 2 delightful New Zealanders and their Sri Lankan friend, who were great company on the game drives and during our lovely meals, which also added to the magical and memorable experience. "Cuca: "Bali is not all about Balinese food. Try Cuca!"
Cuca offers amazing food, comfortable dining atmosphere and wonderful service! Our experiences here were perfect and flawless. Definitely will be back in our visit to Bali.Muang La Lodge: "A little peace of paradise in northern Laos"
It takes a bit of effort to get there, but its secludeness is also part of its charm. The staff of this beautiful resort with only ten rooms does everything to make your stay pleasant and memorable. There are no strict rules, except for enjoying yourself as much as possible. If you would like to stay in a tranquil, beautiful and comfortable resort and value quality over quantity, this is the place to be. Especially the five course dinner which combines the best of French and Asian cuisine is worth mentioning. If you prefer an easy getaway with all standard 5-star hotel facilities and an all-you-can-eat buffet, this is not the place for you.KHWAN BEACH RESORT: "A great place to stay at Koh Samui"
"I and my partner spent five days at Khwan Beach Resort and our experience was nothing but fantastic. This is a small resort run by competent, kind and diligent people (Gaelle, Nittaya, Sai and Margot) who will make everything to fulfil yur wishes. Located literally at a two minute walk away from Mae Nam beach, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxed holidays, surrounded by nature, nice villas each with its own private swimming pool, and (walking distance) close to restaurants, convenient stores, fresh fruit markets, etc. I will definitely return to this place. Mind you however that the resort has just initiated construction works for a restaurant which may cause some inconvenience during the day. Therefore, if you are planning to stay there, contact one of the managers (Gael or Margot) for more details "Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Outstanding Service and a Cozy setting"
The point that strikes you the most is how everyone at Sea Dance is courteous and appear eager to assist in every way they can - it is a few minutes drive from Chewang Beach and that adds to the attractionThe Island Lodge: "Une oasis de paix et de… Gentillesse"
It's very accessible, but once there, it is happiness! The owners are absolutely adorable and attentive staff. A rare kind of envelope you. The place is beautiful. The spacious and comfortable rooms. We were told to guard against mosquitoes, it was useless. Even the mosquitoes are rare and those who cross you are safe ... even nice too. The benefits are high and the restaurant - French or Vietnamese food choice - excellent: top quality products carefully prepared. Here. Nothing to write otherwise: go for it.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Sensational"
Absolutely sensational cambodain cuisine: the food, the service and the atmosphere make this our favorite on our three weeks trip thru Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Two set menus and if you don't like something, they will adapt. The ( Frecnh) owner couple is incredibly talented, friendly and helpful. He cooks and she is attenting the tables. The food is excellent and creative with local fresh ingredients. Tip: make a reservation at least two weeks ahaed and if you did not, call within one hour of you going, you might get lucky!Tugu Malang: "Best hotel in Malang"
"Everytime i go to Malang, East Java, Indonesia, I always stay at this hotel. This hotel has a really different atmosphere with so much acculturation of javanese, dutch colonialism as well as chinese. All of the decorations were pretty, and photo spot-worthy. Facility is also very nice. Food and service are also excellent. Don't forget to attend the tea time service in the second floor every afternoon. Such a wonderful experience with all the traditional teas, mini cakes and sweets."
