Rahai’i Pangun: "A Major Highlight of my Borneo Adventure!!"
"I went on a 4 day cruise up the Rungan River with Wow Borneo and had a wonderful time. The staff were outstanding, very warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was really healthy and tasty. The boat itself was open, airy and comfortable & I loved sitting on the top deck watching life on the river. My very comfortable double room had a private BR and a small private deck as well as air con/fan to keep cool. It was totally worth the slurge! We were fortunate to see a good variety of orangutans on the various pre-release islands on the Rungan River. It was a real privilege to see these beautiful creatures fairly close up in a natural setting. I feel hopeful that most will be fully released into the wild. Like the reviewer before me suggested, I'd recommend you go soon. There were lots of gold dredges on the river banks & the sad reality is that these small operations use mercury to extract the gold which is released into the river poisoning everything downstream. It makes me sad because this is precious habitat for the local people and of course the orangutans."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Scrumptious, eclectic mix"
Went for an 8:30pm reservation and sat upstairs outside - which I would highly recommend. Exquisite tastes, friendly staff and chef, all that I had hoped for on my trip and a definite must-visit while in Siem Reap. Don't be deterred by the dark street on the approach - this place is a jewel in a very quiet area of Siem Reap.Maison Polanka: "Hidden Garden Gem with classic French Charm"
"Greeted at Siam Reap airport by Frances, a very pleasant young man from Masion Polanka private Villas, the chauffeur van waiting, was very comfortable and spacious. Being whisked away through the pleasant Cambodian countryside, arriving at Maison Polanka where a large security gate opened up the most tranquil garden tucked away within 5 minutes of Siam Reap town. We strolled through to reception, a cabana located by the large enticing pool, being greeted by local staff with refreshing hand towels and a long cool drink. Nothing was too much trouble for them, we were given Khmer House a stand-alone elevated original colonial home relocated some years ago to this site, that complemented the master house with its four self-contained luxury rooms. Our stay was magical, the food memorable, the decor was elegant and traditional, with a simple and personal touch from Nathalie (the owner) adding a splash of colour to each room is unique in its creation, Nathalie selects these from her collection of fabric designs out of her stores. We took cooking classes with Maison's Chef and relaxing massages on site, along with local tours to Ankor Wat and many other historic sites. Arriving back for afternoon tea by the pool every day at 3 Pm with freshly baked treats from the kitchen. Maison Polanka fulfilled every expectation of a luxurious holiday and more, we felt very special. Thank you so much for sharing your small space in paradise, we were so sad to have to move on continuing our holiday in Cambodia."KHWAN BEACH RESORT: "Perfect pool villa away from the rush"
"Khwan...What a place. Thanks to tripadvisor, i found this gem. Since there werent many reviews, i was a bit skeptical at first, but the moment i arrived, all my fears went away, as the place was amazing and the honeymoon trip ended on a perfect note. it is a duplex pool villa. There is a small living room, kitchen and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs is the bedroom and another bathroom with a balcony. Super clean, very chic decor with works of art adorning the walls. Due to a storm, the nearby beach(2 minute walk) was a mess. We hired a bike, and went to the fishermans village (recommended). The breakfast options are limited, and you need to inform in advance. It is served to you in the villa. The pool is perfect in size to relax. There are two deck chairs to laze about as well. Gail at the front desk was great. Very polite and will help you out with info for everything from shopping to bike hiring and tours etc. If you want to chill and relax and a pool is your thing, look no further. Khwan is the place to go. "tugu bali: "Superb Dining Course"
"We visited the Tugu by chance when in search for a different dining experience. Their prefixed course menu is nothing but impressive. It is certain worth the splurge. For me the most valuable was their willingness to accommodate on vegetarian options. It is recommended to book at least a day in advance. If you have a large group, they have rooms available with a rather interesting decor theme of red lights, antique and wooden carvings (picture an imperial room in Shanghai). Service is pleasant and friendly. "Mathis Retreat: "Everything An Ubud Hotel Is In Your Dreams"
"This is the hotel you imagine when you think of staying in Ubud. The view across working rice paddies is amazing as our the rooms, quiet amazing. The infinity pool across the rice paddies, the bean bags by the rice paddies and the general setting are all amazing. Staff are friendly and efficient. The hotel is too far out of town to walk (unless you want a long walk) but a van is run by the hotel every hour and they even made a special journey just for us. The breakfast is amazing, as little or as much as you want from the breakfast selection menu and whatever you have is great. Stay here, you wont regret it."Sukoon Houseboat: "Wonderful place but not now"
"This is an idealic place. Wonderful location beautiful scenery, and we were truly spoilt. Sadly you should not visit there for the foreseeable future, because of all the rioting of the local people. You can't go out, no shops open, people off the streets curfews, Internet constantly down and teeming with army and guns. The Sukoon was truly a haven in a very troubled times. Shangloo travel agency should never have brought us to Srinagar, knowing we couldn't do any of his promised tours. This was a very dangerous act."The Hue House: "Spectacular Restaurant"
The unforgettable moment when you enter the Hue House restaurant. The decor is just amazing with the old Hue house, reminds us of the past Hue imperial. The food has a good variety to choose from frm wrap, rolls and lots of BBQ variety to choose from. The food is just amazing and the taste is authentic. The service is good up to standards.Dewakan: "Fine Dinning"
My children organized a birthday dinner for me at the Dekawan restaurant located at the KDU campus in Glenmarie. A real fine dinning with special attention to details as every course is explained before we eat. A quiet and nice place. We enjoyed our dinner and had a good family gathering.Labyrinth: "Great Singaporean influences"
I like how the menu is deisgned with our local food in mind. Most of the food executed were excellent. Wines were a little dissapointing though.
