Tugu Malang: "Quite charming and well worth a visit"

Review by: Tamutoscana | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a lovely little bijou hotel, filled with Indonesian and Chinese antiques and art, conveniently situated right in the heart of the old town facing a pleasant open square. The architecture, like the rest of the hotel, is slightly idiosyncratic and charmingly individual, which differentiates it from the usual run-of-the-mill ‘international’ hotels. The staff in reception, housekeeping and the restaurant are exceptionally efficient and helpful in a relaxed, friendly way. The restaurant has a wide selection of cuisine – Indonesian, Chinese and international – which often spells trouble, because it is difficult to keep such a range of ingredients fresh. However everything we ate in a week-long stay was fresh, delicious and cooked to a every high standard. If you visit Malang, I would definitely recommend this as a most enjoyable place to stay.

Manukan Island Resort: "Paradise island and resort"

Review by: Ariane V | Source: Trip Advisor
"This was a great place to be. Everything was just perfect. The hospitality of the staff is great. They really want you to have a good time. At the restaurant you could also ask for things beside the menu and the cook would look what was possible. The guests of the resort have their own private beach and swinmingpool. You can use the towels of the resort so not necessary to bring your own. The resort is not too large and that is exactly what gives it a charm. We stayed 4 nights and everybody knew us. The room was perfect also. Looking out at the beach and with a large bathroom. At daytime the island has a lot of day visitors (depending on the day and season how many) but after 5 pm the island is deserted except for the residents of the resort. We did also the jungle track to the sunset point and that was allright and took aprox 50 minutes. And there are possibilities to snorkel and dive. "

David’s Kitchen: "Memorable evening"

Review by: williamb077 | Source: Trip Advisor
Three of us had an exceptional dinner at David's Kitchen where the service was superb, the meals delicious and the evening one which we will long remember. The warm and personal welcome we received from David was the beginning of a wonderful time. The menu was extensive and everything looked so appetizing that we couldn't decide what to choose. But the lamb shank, pork loin and pumpkin soup were done beautifully and served by an attentive, friendly staff. We look forward to going back when we are in Chiang Mai again. Highly recommended indeed.

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "A beautiful restaurant"

Review by: Kerensa2014 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I only managed to try the top 2 recommended restaurants in Yangon - Seeds and Le Planteur and have to say that Seeds is number 1 for good reasons. Everything in this restaurant is beautiful - the food, decor and grounds which fronts the lake with lotus flowers. It’s perhaps better to come before night falls in order to fully appreciate the surroundings. The place is a little difficult to find and signage not very prominent so do ensure that your driver knows it before you set off. Food is gorgeous and the service is good and staff cheerful. If you only time to visit one restaurant in Yangon, make it this one."

The Village House: "Touch of Paradise"

Review by: Merrin R | Source: Trip Advisor
What a wonderful place to stay - highly recommend it. Staff are wonderful and rooms clean and comfortable. Great food and pool/bar area. Lots to see and do in the area and transport to Kuching easily achieved . Looking forward to coming back in the very near future .

Talabgaon Castle: "A night with the maharajah"

Review by: Jean Pierre V | Source: Trip Advisor
Prior to my departure to India I went on their website to see what to expect and what I saw was very appealing and filled me with great expectations. These were more than realised as the reality of the place is quite simply enchanting. First there is the imposing and stylish and elegant archway that you have to go through, then the splendour of the building reveals itself with in front of it a manicured garden. After that it is sheer enjoyment of the senses as you go through courtyards, reading rooms with imposing chandelier. I felt an incredible sense of peace there helped in that respect by the most exotic room that I have ever stayed something of the Arabian nights. The staff is locally employed and will do their best for you. The food is nice. Walking through the garden it was a pleasant surprise to encounter an emu. Whilst there I would recommend the camel ride going through the village and surroundings as it gives you the chance to be up close with the villagers who will extend to you the most enthusiastic of welcome. I left this place the following day with only one regret and that is that I would have wanted to stay there a bit longer.

Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Fantastic place & staff"

Review by: Julien L | Source: Trip Advisor
"French word : ""Le meilleur endroit pour dormir SUR le lac, et le meilleur restaurant de la région"" We were originally staying 2 nights, but ended but cancelling a night in Nyaung Shwe to spend an additional one at Inle Heritage. This is hands-down the best hotel (& restaurant) I've experienced in Myanmar. It is not the most luxurious, but it's not the point here. The rooms are beautiful, decorated with taste, eco-friendly. Only 6 bungalows, perfectly maintained, making the place a haven of peace in the evening. It might get busy at lunch and in the afternoon as tourists come to eat and visit the place. They probably have the best restaurant in lake area, and they also have burmese cats, endemic fish aquariums, cooking classes, homegrown vegetables etc. Basically the place is also a foundation : eco-friendly hotel, burmese cat sanctuary, and a school training students for hotels and restaurants. A portion of everything you pay here (hotel, restaurant, not sure for the souvenir shop) will go to the foundation. Breakfast is fantastic : real bread, real croissants, no wonder why all the customers were French :). Restaurant is great as well and serves fine cuisine (Myanmar/Thai style, homemade recipes, and a couple western dishes). Had one of their specialties, some simple fried rice and a so-classic Chicken Sandwich, all 3 were just perfect. Their ""pancakes"" are more like French crepes rather than US pancakes, taste great ! Girlfriend got sick on first day here, and stayed in bed the whole day while I left to visit Indein. The whole staff took care of her, from the cleaning ladies to the Chef preparing a special meal, and the manager checking on her every couple hours. Staff has been fabulous. The souvenir shop is nice as well, they seem to have superior quality stuff and pretty much everything you'd need. Consider checking it as you might find better stuff than on Inle markets / temple shops. You may find more luxurious places on Inle, but you will end up in resorts. It will cost more, and there will be 30 or more bungalows which won't always be in good shape. Honestly, if you want to be ON LAKE, go straight for Inle Heritage, forget about the lake ""resorts"". It is true there is some noise because of the boats going around (can start early in the morning), but keep in mind this will happen anywhere as long as you're staying on the lake. Okay, maybe a swimming-pool would be cool, but that sounds kind of stupid when you're actually on a lake (would not recommend swimming in the lake though). Maybe if they can make some eco-friendly pool, idea for the future :) We were kind of sad to leave Inle Heritage, I'd honestly would have stayed there for a whole week. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"

MesaStila: "Java at its best"

Review by: guycross | Source: tripadvisor.com
"MesaStila is one of those places that blows you away. So many things about our trip far exceeded our expectations. The food was awesome. The rooms are beautiful. A highlight was the Easter Egg painting hunt that the staff ran for our two little boys. Yokyo (maybe not correct spelling) was sweet and made sure our little ones felt special. Thank you. We hope to be back. "

Villa Song Saigon: "Old School Elegance"

Review by: William_Genereux | Source: Trip Advisor
"Wow - what a place. Right on the river. To catch a ride to the heart of District 1, there is no shuttle bus. There is a shuttle boat - a speed boat. You ride up the river, past all the barges and little tugboats - past all the major waterfront development as you approach the heat and noise of Ho Chi Minh City. Villa Song is located in an exclusive old part of the city, tucked away on its own - by the water. We had a room overlooking the river. It was amazing to look out and see a container barge floating by so close. The restaurant is world class in my opinion. The chef has some great ideas about ingredients and presentation. The pool is a bit small and cramped but who cares. This is Saigon, baby. The staff were friendly and professional. We had a late checkout - no problem. The experience overall was flawless. Highly recommended. "

The Tiger’s Eye: "Love goes through your stomach"

Review by: Christer H | Source: Trip Advisor
"I was meeting an old friend to catch up on life, business, future and past. We had dinner at Tigers Eye and decided for the tasting menu with the carefully selected wine to accompany. Your experience is like tossed from the different sensations of Southeast Asia, to NY and Paris, still keeping that fine taste of Khmer cuisine and it's representation. Dinner conversations is truly accelerated by being at the right place, with right food and wine. Tim and his team makes Phnom Penh shine. See you soon again."
