Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "nice experience in the 1920s…."
"First time to stay in a hotel with 1920s' French style, the place is elegant and feel like home. So different from Bangkok , feel like a secret garden. Like the desk lamp design in room and wooden floor is nice.."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Magical"
"Stayed for five nights in the Escoy suite, wow what an amazing room. This is one of eighteen rooms at the Blue Mansion. The hotel is a Woking museum with much care taken for the least intrusion of guests. Take the free tour it is so informative...we did this on the first morning and it definitely helped us appreciate just were we where staying!! The staff were amazing,so professional, curtious and helpful. Breakfast is a delight with a host of delicious food on offer and held in beautiful surroundings. The whole ambience at the Blue Mansion is a joy to behold. Near to all the attractions Georgetown has to offer. Room Tip: Lower floor away from food court next door if you prefer quieter rooms"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A pleasant returned stay"
I stayed in this hotel before and this time I am returning with bigger group of friends. The staff handled our reservations with full attention and all details have been taken care. We were extremely surprised as one of the rooms was upgraded for our better comfort.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Amazing service and attention to details"
"Location: Great view on the Annapurna and the valley. From the welcoming to the departure day (we stayed 3 nights) we had a great hospitality service (meals, drinks,etc..) , we enjoyed the trek with our guide and the helicopter trip to the Annapurna Base Camp. The cottage was perfect, with heater during this period of the year (and the hot water bottle in the bed as a surprise). Will have love to stay longer. Thanks to Marcus for sharing his knowledge of this beautiful country through the day or at dinner time. You are a real ""hotelier"" and congratulation to the team for their service."Muang La Lodge: "Improbable et parfait"
Siv Pala is a Cambodian chef to watch out for. He trained in Switzerland and has added European technique to Khmer cooking that is fresh and innovative. We tried the highly rated, over rated, very formal Damnak lounge but it pales in comparison. We had both lunch and dinner here the same day because it was so good. We had the gourmet set menu. 5 courses for $24 US but brilliant dishes starting with a shrimp cold starter and the fresh fish soup, then two amazing entrees-a langoustine crepe and an oxtail stew. Both were subtle with rich texture and full of umami. The setting, too, is lovely. Outdoor patio, romantic, opposite of stuffy. Staff were always attentive and the chef, good-ooking per my wife, youngish man of impeccable manners greeted us after dinner. Best meal of our three day stay. Do not miss!Manukan Island Resort: "Dive & Stay Package"
We stayed at this resort as part of our Scuba Diving + Stay package. We really love the island and also our Villa! Our villa is on the second floor with a nice beach view. Room is spacious with complete amenities. We don't mind the weak internet connection as we connected with nature more! We also love the local foods offered in their restaurants. As for their staff, they are accommodating and prompt on addressing our requests.Flower Island: "Gorgeous, stylish resort with a strong personal touch"
"Stayed three nights here last week, and had an unforgettable time. I think what sets this apart from some of the top end resorts is the personal touch and the tasteful, considered aesthetic. The cottages and restaurant are set back behind the palm trees so as not to create an imposing man made frontage. The use of natural objects like sea shells, bamboo and palms feels, along with the 'ethnic' decor somehow feels more inspired than the cliched attempts you usually see in these sorts of places. (....)the island does genuinely create a special sort of intimacy and calm. I really can not speak highly enough of this place."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Our stay"
Worth every penny. Hands down the best food and best service you will have in Nepal. Situated on top of a big hill the lodge boasts views of the Pokhara valley and the imposing Himalaya in the backdrop. Pure luxury and class but never flashy.Muang La Resort: "Relaxing setting, great food and lovely staff"
We spent three days at Muang La resort. We went in the low season so had the resort (10 room resort) to ourselves. We had a river view room (highly recommend) and we could hear the relaxing sounds of the river flowing outside our room. The resort has two elevated hot tubs, using water from the hot natural springs. We enjoyed a Lao massage too. The resort is set on the river, which is constantly used by the local villagers to fish and bathe. We organised a couple of excursions once we had arrived. This was probably easy for us to do as we were the only residents. The food was great. Every night there was a five course set menu based on local Laos cuisine. Breakfasts were great, with tropical fruits, divine home made yoghurt, croissants and scrolls, as well as eggs as you like them. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The village of Muang La is a little difficult to get to but worth the effort. I am happy to recommend Muang La.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
