Mathis Retreat: "Big nice room and pool by rice fields"

Very nice boutique hotel in Ubud. The room is very nice, clean, and the bed very comfortable. The swimming pool by the rice field is a superb way to chill in the afternoon. Free shuttle to Ubud center is a plus:)

Supanniga Eating Room: "Delcious Authentic Thai Food"

You need to call ahead for a reservation at this small yet wonderful restaurant. They advertise Grandma's secret recipes and they do not disappoint. Great service and very yummy food with those wonderful, distinctive Thai flavors. If you want the real deal, come here.

Maison Polanka: "Haven in a garden"

"We had a blissful stay for three nights. Staff was very friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. We stayed in the Yellow room which we thought was the best room in the main house as it was private, located right next to the shared coffee/tea making facilty and had a big, light bathroom. We arranged for two temple tours through the hotel and the guide allocated was informative and a terrific photographer. Choose this place if you want a quiet place off the touristy area but close enough to hop on a tuk tuk to Pub St in approximately 10mins!"

The Cabochon Hotel: "Excellent. A must stay while in Bangkok"

"This hotel is small yet feels luxurious. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need. The staff were a delight - helpful, informative and friendly. The food at breakfast and at dinner was excellent - delicious, adventurous and beautifully presented. The restaurant and breakfast room are a treasure trove of artefacts. The roof top pool is a wonderful touch with views that give you a very good feel for Bangkok. "

Sanak Retreat Bali: "Entspannung in wunderschöner Umgebung"

In mitten der gepflegten Reisfelder mit wunderschönem Ausblick in ruhiger (Natur-)Umgebung gelegen. Ideal zum Entspannen und Abschalten. Die Bungalows sind gepflegt, wohnlich eingerichtet und geräumig. Das Personal ist herzlich, sehr freundlich und um das Wohl der Gäste besorgt. Das Restaurant bietet eine gute Auswahl an Speisen und das Essen war lecker und frisch.

The Island Lodge: "Real vacations, not the usual awful business machine. De réelles vacances, pas une machine a’ touristes"

"We got bored to go to the vietnamese seaside for 20 years. Jam, crowd, noise,.... I decided to shoot to another direction within close range from HCMC, possibly with another type of landscape. We pinged on My Tho and the Island Lodge Resort. Very narrow road leading to a car parking. Good or bad news, cars cannot reach the resort. An electric golf cart picked us up. They had a room for driver at the car parking for cheap including a meal. We arrived in this green resort and got welcomed by the owner. Lobby and restaurant were nice, spacey and very well ventilated. We never felt too hot. Wind helped too. Decoration was simple but very nice with a family historical touch amd view on the Mekong. We went to our bungalow. Again, simple but very nice. Very green environment. Quite. No noisy tourists. Definitely another class of tourists. Human size. Nice pool, again, simple. Nice staff too. Very caring. And best of the best? The food. For 8USD you get what would be a “bread and butter” Beef carrot dish turned into a delicacy. We will back. No doubt about it. Nous en avions assez d'aller a' la mer depuis 20 ans. Foules, bruit, embouteillages,... J'ai décidé de viser dans une autre direction mais a' portée de Saigon, et dans un autre carde. Nous avons atterris au Island Lodge Resort. Une route étroite amène au parking. Le resort n'est ensuite qu'accessible en auto électrique. Il y avait une chambre pour le chauffeur au niveau du parking avec un repas a' un prix très abordable; Nous sommes arrivés dans un resort très verdoyant et avons étés reçus par le proprio. Le lobby et restaurant sont spacieux, très charmants et bien ventilés. Nous n'avons jamais ressenti la chaleur. La décoration est simple avec une touche d'histoire familiale au Vietnam et le resto offre une large vue sur le Mékong. Le bungalow, aussi dans un cadre très verdoyant était simple mais très élégant.. Calme, pas de touristes bruyants. Une toute autre classe d’hôtel a' taille humaine. La piscine est simple et jolie. Les employés sont aussi très serviables. Le meilleur de tout reste la cuisine. Pour 8 usd, un plat aussi simple qu'un boeuf carotte est transforme en délicatesse. Aucun doute, nous reviendrons. Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Our stay"

Worth every penny. Hands down the best food and best service you will have in Nepal. Situated on top of a big hill the lodge boasts views of the Pokhara valley and the imposing Himalaya in the backdrop. Pure luxury and class but never flashy.

David’s Kitchen: "Amazing food and friendly staff"

"Our meal at David's Kitchen was a fantastic experience. David and his staff were very welcoming and David came straight over to introduce himself to us. He told us a little bit about the restaurant and his family and was interested to hear where we had travelled from. The waiters and waitresses were helpful and recommended us options from the menu. The food and wine was absolutely delicious, especially the cheesy gnocchi! Dessert did not disappoint. Although we were full, we couldn't resist the chocolate lava cake and banana crepe! The staff kindly organized us a taxi back to our hotel. We were really glad we made the trip to Davids Kitchen and would highly recommend it when in Chiang Mai! Thank you David and all the staff who made our night so enjoyable!"

TIGER MOUNTAIN POKHARA LODGE: "rejuvinating natural splendour"

"At this point in your travels this is the perfect place to be. Whether you've just completed your travels over to begin a trek or are in the middle of your journey you're probably ready for some clean air, beautiful views and sophisticated but understated pampering. The lodge itself sits astride a mountain ridge outside Pokhara allowing views to the north (Himalyas) and south (Pokhara). If your expecting ""bling"" (flat screens etc) forget it. If your expexting a proper mountain lodge then this is it. Beautiful architecture, natural building materials, total comfort, privacy and unbelievable scenery. I stayed for 3 days and never tired of the food, on the contrary I was left wondering what's next. Every meal has a local or continental version impeccably prepared and served. The chef and many of the staff have been at the lodge since it opened and have the food, beverage and service dialled in. I know this might sound a little ridiculous but I spent 3.5 weeks travelling India and Nepal and this was my favorited place to spend a few days. I guess it was just the perfect place at the right time. Next year we are hoping to do a 2 week trek, this is where we plan to start and end, I can' wait. "

The Governor’s House: "Colonial charm"

The Governor's House is perfect for travelers looking for something beyond main stream. This colonial house has a great deal of character and charm. Each room has it's own style with an interesting mix of antiques and contemporary touches whilst the communal areas evoke a bygone era. We enjoyed breakfast in the tranquil garden... I can highly recommend the Eggs Benedict. The garden also has a small pool and relaxing chill area. All the staff are friendly and helpful, especially Yin Yin, who does a great job as GM.
