Chakrabongse Villas: "A small green exotic oasis of calm, beauty and exclusivity"
"Chakrabongse Villas is very different to your everyday boutique hotel. I have been a guest at Chakrabongse for 12 years on at least 40 occasions. Here your privacy is respected and preserved and you do not have to deal with the typical petty tourists that you find in all the large hotels. You will hardly ever see another guest since they all have their own villa and outside area. Strangers are not permitted to enter the grounds and wander around. The staff are invisible until you need or want them. The outside world of hustle and bustle stops at the gate and you enter a small green exotic oasis of calm, beauty and exclusivity. Room Tip: Every villa is beautifully themed and decorated with art and antiques."Le Passe-Temps: "Year End dream family"
Spent ten wonderful days at Hobbies for Christmas and New Year 2018 with our 3 children and spouses and 10 grandchildren (4 to 16 years). Excellent beachfront location with excellent restaurant on perfectly shaded beach (but not swimmable at low tide). Bungalows very comfortable (excellent bedding, top bath, perfect cleanliness). Decoration of the whole site and original and neat premises, Zen atmosphere. Excellent home owners Olivier and Kiet, the manager of the site and the entire available and smiling staff. The day trips are offered all quality and well organized and we have programmed a day (exploring local islands and Phi Phi, the Phang Nga Bay, jungle, caves, temples, markets and city Krabi ..). We found perfect balance breakfast (excellent) took quietly, a day spent exploring and return late afternoon to enjoy the Hobby - pool, aperitif with magical sunset and dinner. Children and Grandchildren delighted with the stay.David’s Kitchen: "In a league of its own"
"My title says all! I simply cannot speak highly enough of David's Kitchen, this is a MUST do in Chiang Mai. My partner and I ordered the set menu to celebrate my 30th birthday. This allowed us to try Davids most signature dishes and we weren't disappointed!! The food, service and personal touches were absolutely splendid. Many reviews note their personal experience with David, and yes this is fabulous but I would also like to mention the amazing unity the entire team have to ensure your experience is like none other. I only wish there were most restaurants like this in the world!"The Village House: "Love at first sight"
Hidden gem in Damai, it was my 2nd stay in this hotel. I like the environment and it was super cozy, A super awesome gateway. We spent our time chilled by the pool and it was so relaxing. The room was a bit dusty and cleanliness is average.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Beautiful location, serene back to nature"
"Tents on wooden decking sounds bizarre but it works. Beautiful location. Arrival (picked up by boat from a car park) felt a bit scary but once on the river we were swept away by the beauty of this place. Food, service, location all faultless. Tips: ignore what you read about wifi - there is none, be prepared for it and then you can just enjoy the peace. We were quite happy without wifi but the kids back home were a bit scared when we suddenly went radio silent for 4 days! Trip to the falls is further than you think but well worth it. Borrow canoes for free to paddle around the resort, up and down river. Swimming in the river - looks a bit dodgy as water looks brown but trust me it beats a swimming pool any day. No air con (well they are tents after all) so it did get a bit hot at times. 4 days is enough unless you are happy with your own company as there really isn't much to do once you've taken a canoe and visited the falls. My husband fished every day and caught nothing. The evening firefly trip (also free) is lovely. They call it their Christmas lights. Stunningly beautiful."MesaStila: "It surpasses all expectations for all of us"
"I heard about how good Mesastila is since their name was still Losari. I have been dreaming to come here for a very long time and finally my wish do come true and every single one in our group were so impressed by Mesastila's grace and charm. 22 hectars of land divided into two areas. Each 11 hectares. One area for coffee plantation and the other for only 23 villas. If full booked, this giant space is only want to accommodate 60 guests !!!! Now that is LUXURY ! The more you know about this place the more you will feel your money is well spent. The view is also absolutely beautiful ... Bring your whole family here and just let Mesastila take care of you."Samanea Beach Resort: "Girls Trip in Cambodia"
Beautiful, secluded resort. The hospitality and atmosphere is beyond expectations. We arrived in early afternoon to welcoming arms and were escorted to our villa. We enjoyed the delicious lunch and partook in 2 for 1 drinks at happy hour. When the bar tender discovered I preferred Bacardi Rum to what they offered, he went to a market and purchased it for my next drink! Unbelievable people! The servers gladly held our second round of drinks for after we returned from dinner. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and kind. The outdoor bath and shower were a perfect ending to serene and peaceful day.The Cabochon Hotel: "Our second stay at Cabochon Hotel"
"I visited Cabochon with my 9 month old baby when I was travelling with him alone and had the warmest stay on my whole journey. Ten month later I returned together with my husband and son. Nothing had changed. Still, the friendliest care one can ever dream of in a hotel. This hide away makes Bangkok seem calm. I could once again start writing about how I love the interior, the breakfastroom, the food. But still, what ones again stayed in my memory was the throughout friendly, helpful, interested and cool staff. Absolutely one of a kind. Thank you Shaubai and you whole team! Malin, Alex and Lode"Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Relaxed beach island getaway"
"We were looking for a relaxing place in Thailand where our kids could explore in nature and we could all spend time unwinding. We had to attend an event in phuket and in contrast to our normal holidays there wouldn't be much in the way of wildlife so we were looking for an alternative place to include in the trip. Golden buddha resort was a wonderful choice. Our boys had plenty of safe beaches to run and explore with loads of ghost crabs, little land crabs, mudskippers at low tide and the occasional monkey troupe. The houses were traditional style and the fans and nets made it comfortable to just kick back in the hotter part of the day. We loved our resident lizards and frogs and hornbills. The beach pizza and yummy smoothies were a favourite with the kids. The menu was small but we enjoyed the meals, which were fresh and well constructed. I'm used to a family of males that constantly eat so had packed snacks (lock up from monkeys lol) and given there's no shops it's a good idea if you have hungry kids. Beach bbq is great and lots of fun to chat with other guests and staff. If your looking for an eco, nature play destination with family it's a beautiful spot. Great staff, beautiful beaches without a multistorey development or beach vendor in sight :-). The resort give you heaps of info and were wonderful about questions so read the fine print as they are very clear about what style of resort the Golden Buddha is. We loved it"Maison Polanka: "5 star done right"
Maison polanka is a 5 star done right. Stylish rooms in an intimate atmosphere with attentive and friendly service. The art works and the furnitures in the Khmer house were gorgeous, and it was a class apart from anywhere I have stayed in the region. The room is huge intact and we appreciated the large shower area with lots of rooms for the clothes to be hanged and lots of space for personal belongings. Everything was spotless on arrival, including the common areas. The food was excellent. The hotels location which is just within the city. Yes the road is bumpy but you will find a haven at the end of the pagoda. Thank you to everyone involved in making our stay so pleasant.
