The Village House: "Very relaxing"
We stayed in this hotel for two nights after our interesting visit to the Iban people in the jungle. We really could relax in this hotel as it is such a quite place. The hotel has a nice small pool and some little areas around the pool to sit. The rooms are very nice and quite big. Unfortunately there is only wifi at the public areas of the hotel. The hotel offers diners, you really have to taste the 8-course menu "Taste of Borneo" as it was very delicious.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Unique and goegeous, but the best part is the staff"
" really can't say enough about how much I loved my stay at the 4 Rivers Floating Lodge. It is a gorgeous place, relaxing and natural making for the perfect getaway. The tents are lovely and come with all the amenities you could want -- your own deck, a t.v., a cute wooden bathtub, lush robes and eco-friendly soaps. The setting is second to none, located on the Tatai river which blends jungle and palm trees seamlessly. The excursions they provide include firefly watching, a trip to the local waterfall, jungle treks (weather permitting) and kayaking in the mangroves. I made some great memories... The staff round out this great experience -- the excursion teams are great, the general manager is kind and attentive and the restaurant staff are warm and eager to please. Living in Cambodia, I know how difficult it can be staff urban hotels, let alone a property as isolated as 4 Rivers, so kudos to them. Note: Located on the river, you will encounter bugs (including gorgeous butterflies) so be prepared -- that said, I left without a single mosquito bite. This is also a relatively remote location which means the food choices (which are plentiful enough and delicious) won't be the same as in more populated areas. If you can't live without your phone/computer this place isn't for you since there is no wifi. "Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Honeymoon Highlight"
"We booked the luxury tent as part of our honeymoon. From pick up to drop off everything was 5 star! We had the most fantastic time and staff went the extra mile to make our stay extra special. The room itself was magnificent and we adored being able to shower under the stars. Everything about the room has been carefully thought out and lovingly handmade. The bed was extremely comfortable and we felt safe and secure in the tent. It felt like a tent from 'Harry Potter' as from the outside you would not expect them to be able to fit in so much luxury. The food! Every day we were greeted with a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. We even had private dining under the stars and a cookery lesson. I think my favourite had to be string hoppers and the coconut pancakes. Let's not forget the Safari. We managed to see a total of 5 leopards! (a mating couple, a very large male eating a monkey and a mother and cub on our last day!). Praneeth was our guide and he was very knowledgeable. A big thank you to everyone for making it so special, we will remember it so fondly and really hope to come back very soon! Emma and Matty"The Island Lodge: "The one that the Mekong Delta has been waiting for"
The big bridge in My Tho opened the island of Thoi Soi to the world 8 years ago. Michel and Francoise has build a sanctuary at the end of this island. This should give the comfort and care to travellers to the Mekong Delta. Owners are very responsive and timely in their email correspondence making pre arranging things very smooth. The Island Lodge can arrange for pick up and drop off in Saigon. The two hour journey is pretty easy and brought us to The Island Lodge in good time. Staff are wonderful and nothing is too difficult. The pool and breakfast are amazing it's almost feels like you are in someone's house as a guest. Be warned the property is isolated and My Tho is accessible by boat or car (both can be arranged with Michel). Ton their in house driver is wonderful and speaks good English. Nice to have a cheerful driver taking us on the linger journeys. The local river, bicycle and floating markets are all activities if you care to leave the property, otherwise we relaxed by the pool and had some wonderful dinners in the main restaurant. Food options are French or Asian with an excellent wine selection. We can't wait to return.tugu malang: "Best hidden gem in Indonesia"
"We're currently living in Jakarta, and sometimes you need a little getaway from the Big Durian. Malang is it - and this is the hotel to stay in. I loved everything about this place. The hotel staff are really friendly - arranging early check in and late check out with no problems and playing with my baby. The rooms are gorgeous, really comfortable beds, huge beautiful bathroom with really nice products, and wood floors (great for a crawling baby). The grounds are like a museum with so many places to walk and explore. The hotel is located in a very walkable location and the hotel staff are helpful with recommendations. The restaurant has the best Indonesian food I've had in Indonesia. They'll modify for vegetarians - try the Nasi Campur. The breakfast that's included is also incredible - you can order off the menu and take from the buffet - all included! The coffee is amazing - we took home 2 bags of beans, very reasonably priced. The afternoon tea that's included offers a wonderful selection of Indonesian snacks to try and great tea and coffee. They include a welcome massage of 15 minutes, and we bought a full massage, which was really high quality and totally worth it - and reasonably priced. "Manda De Laos: "Superb setting and attentive staff"
My wife and I ate there last night and were thoroughly impressed by the attentive staff and the quality of the food. Presentation was beyond anything you see in Canada and American. Prices are a little high by Laos standards but a bargain compared to equal caliber restaurants in the West. If you are in this quaint town.....it’s a must visit. The Island Lodge: "Mekong trip or Saigon escape? This is your place"
"When you arrive on the small road you may wonder if you got lost, in fact you just found a secret gem! Beautiful surroundings (pool and river on one side, gorgeous garden on the other side) Tasteful design and decoration everywhere around Lovely and helpful team Nice mix of Vietnamese and French food Large choice of activities/tours to visit the area by boat, bike or scooter. We will definitely be back for the Mekong and for the Hotel!"Slow Villas and Spa: "Absolute wonderland"
"We checked-in to the Slow Villas for 2 nights and ended up staying for 4 nights, were lucky our villa had availability as they seem to be fully booked most of the time. My fiancee and I fall short of words to describe our content. Our Slow Villa stay has provided us with an utmost quiet mind to relax and to work (we had a lot of work to do which needed top focus). Our villa had a huge garden perhaps 250m2 and all the comfort and amenities we needed. We took a break off the villa only to get massages and facials at the beautiful Slow Spa, moments of total bliss! The staff were all extremely polite, kind and thoughtful at all times and it was great to be greeted even at 2 am in the morning to get a water refill, knowing there's 24 hours staff and attention which is rare (probably unique) in Gili Air. The detailed guide book which has been put together, available at the villa came also very handy for information, food options and activities on the island. Finally, our super comfy bed and goose feather pillows (never seen in any other luxurious hotel in Indonesia) made it very hard to get out of the bed but the delicious breakfast options delivered to our villa were very convincing to take a step away from the bed:)) We can not recommend this place enough. Many thanks!"Rachamankha: "Absolutely stunning"
"This is a relatively new hotel built in traditional Thai style. It is beautiful - everything about it is beautiful, the architecture, the furniture, the fittings, the ornaments, the swimming pool. Best of all is its location - easily accessible to the main temples in Chiang Mai and within walking distance of the main shopping streets. A small hotel , with friendly staff and comfortable beds. try it - I am sure you cannot fail to be impressed!"Tandjung Sari: "Just perfect"
This hotel has everything a good hotel needs. Lovely staff, superb bungalow rooms, excellent food, nice beach and swimming pool. Beautiful gardens and wonderful collection of Balinese sculptures. Highly recommended
