Tugu Bali: "Amazing fabulous decor"
We had a lovely dinner at this charming Oriental/Chinese/Asian art inspired restaurant serving Japanese food. Quality of the food was quite good although the staff really need more training with the menu. They weren't sure about the dishes when we asked them and served us a couple of dishes which needed to b changed as it wasn't what we ordered. Overall though it's a really nice restaurant to take friends to for the charming decor and experience.Manda De Laos: "Best restaurant in Luang Prabang"
We had a very romantic dinner in Manda de Laos. Very good food, great service, and a very romantic atmosphere. Highly recommended.Tugu Bali: "The Art, Soul and Romance of Indonesia"
"What really puts this hotel into my ‘most memorable’ category is its ability to deliver an authentic Indonesian experience, steeped in traditional culture whilst maintaining the highest degree of luxury. Nowadays that’s something that most modern hotels on the beautiful island of Bali lack. Hotel Tugu’s calming surroundings provide an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. The building itself and the expansive yet intimate grounds naturally emanate a purposeful sense of romance. It was here I found a somewhat tangible soulful experience. An experience I didn’t know I was truly seeking until I was immersed in it and one that will stay with me long since my return. Hotel Tugu claims to be the Art, Soul and Romance of Indonesia and I for one wholeheartedly agree. The Walter Spies suite was my favourite, an art deco inspired room merged with Balinese themes, complete with plunge pool and private garden. Very private. Worth noting JI at Bale' Sutra 1706' is the onsite restaurant & bar. The contemporary Japanese/Chinese fusion cuisine is a commendable example of fine dining in a casual and yet classy atmosphere. It also hosts a rooftop bar with ocean views and specialized sake bar. There is an extensive choice of fine wine available (usually so hard to find in south-east Asia) and the cocktails are next level goodness."Tugu Lombok: "Number One in My List of Favourite Hotels"
"Tugu Lombok is the dreamed hotel for all who imagine a paradise with silent tropical white sanded beaches, wooden villa, just a few steps from the light blue sea. The resort is designed as a boutique one, a precious collection of asian art is arranged around the restaurants, the villas and the gardens. Walking around you are touched by an amazing culture, art and sence of luxury design. Each villa has a priveate pool and a beach, tropical shower under the stars. The honeymoon villa is the ONE! Tugu Lombok is a great place to propose to your Love! Or to excape for a romantic vacation... Room Tip: Villas at the beach side are amazing!"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Wonderful stay at Cheong Fatt Tze / Blue Mansion"
"Over the recent Easter long weekend, we decided to take a break in Penang. We picked the Blue Mansion, indigo blue coloured heritage hotel with only 18 rooms after learning about its history and seen some pictures. From the outside, the heritage hotel is hidden behind a high wall so only the roof and part of the building were visible from outside. The hotel also conducts a tour of the hotel, sharing the history as well as the challenging task of restoring the hotel when it was bought over following the death of the last son of the original owner. Hotel guests gets to join the tour for free. We were very fortunate to join the tour on the day that Loh-Lim Lin Lee, current owner of the hotel, was leading the tour. She only does it on Friday at 11am and 2pm. She was a wonderful story teller, sharing about the unique architecture, origins of the materials used in the construction such as colourful history. Beautifully restored with rooms that are a mixed of modern and traditional. We even have a jacuzzi in our bathroom! Highly recommend for a different experience from conventional hotel stay. Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"David’s Kitchen: "Amazing Food and Wine"
"Superb experience. Beautiful, calm space in which to dine. A graceful, accommodating staff, and a tremendous kitchen. My wife's printed name and mine greeted us when we reached the table. Nice touch. The menu is traditional French/Continental, exceedingly well-done. Highlights on the food side were the pumpkin veloute, the fois gras, the grilled duck breast, . We ordered one set menu (4 courses) and three a la carte courses; the waiter immediately offered to divide the extra soup course into two servings, which was thoughtful and kind, as was the rest of the very attentive service. The waiters and sommelier spoke excellent English, by the way. David, the owner, stopped by our table several times, and we had a lengthy conversation about wine, a passion for both of us. In general, ordering fine wine in Thailand is an expensive nuisance, because of the 400% import tax. As a rule, we don't, because you end up paying $50 dollars for mouthwash. However, the refined food at David's Kitchen cries out for good wine, and to make that possible, David keeps his wine prices LOW. I was delighted to find a bottle of St. Cosme's 2016 Cotes du Rhone for roughly the same price I've paid for it in US restaurants. Remarkable that it was both available at David's Kitchen and fairly priced. In summation, this is an exceptionally fine restaurant, one of a kind here in Chiang Mai, and if you are looking for a special place for a special meal, I recommend it most highly."Rahai’i Pangun: "Reece trip on Katingan River & Sebangau National Park"
I was lucky to be part of this 5 days Reecee trip - a trip that hasn't been done before. It was very very well organised and the many transfers between the lovely Ruhui Rahayu river boat and the small canoes that brought us along the small black water tributaries, all went smooth. Staying in the stilted house on the black water lake, Danau Bulat, was great. It was wonderful to get special food treats from Ruhui Rahayu brought the 1 km into the lake. The highlight of staying in Sebangau National Park at the WWF lodge was great. So was trekking at night to set the photo trap. Sailing further into Sebangau National Park on the Panggu Alas black water river to the lake with the same name was equally exciting. A wonderful trip. Lisbet (Denmark)Tugu Bali: "Heaven"
Our three nights at Hotel Tugu were absolute perfection. The suite, the food, the service & the beautiful gardens could not be faulted. I would go back in heartbeat...or when my credit card bill is paid...whichever comes first.jing: "Fabulous hotel"
"Jing's Residence is in the medieval part of PingYao and is beautifully restored. The staff was very gracious and attentive and the food was delicious. I had a wonderful massage that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to PingYao. "Slow Villas and Spa: "A real ultimate experience"
"Imagine : a private pool, a typical villa on the Gilli isle... That was amazing and the staff was so nice with us... The breakfast, the candel light diner... All was perfect... Yes we were not far from the heaven..We will come back again for sure as soon as possible."
