Nam Bo Boutique Hotel: "Quaint hotel in a great location"
"On arrival we were invited to sit down & enjoy a welcome drink & snacks whilst checking in. We were then taken to our suite, which was unexpectedly spacious with a separate lounge/dining room & lovely hardwood floors throughout. Blossoms on the bed were another nice touch. However, the highlight of this hotel is the restaurant on the roof, which provides top quality food together with fabulous views of the promenade & Mekong. The breakfasts are exceptional with trays of pastries & fruit, freshly squeezed juices, yogurt & hot food cooked to order. We were there for dinner on Christmas Eve & Santa visited the restaurant & gave us all very nice presents. This was another unexpected treat. All of the staff were friendly & helpful and the service throughout our stay was of the highest quality. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel."Glenburn Tea Estate: "“Awesome trekking in perfect surrounding – in and around glenburn tea estate”"
"Just got back from a 3 night solo stay at the glenburn tea estate. I can't believe how they are ranked #4. They should be #1 hands down. Pick up at the airport was prompt with a safe driver and clean car. The driver stopped at a picturesque spot for a quick picnic lunch - paneer Kathi rolls, brownies and of course tea! Enough had been written about the last descent to glenburn, so I won't write anymore. But it's all true! Once you reach the estate, you are blown away by the setting. I was lucky as the weather was clear and I could see the Kanchenjunga peak in all its beauty. Luxurious accommodations with all the conveniences you need. I had some issues with the hot water in my bathroom but they moved me to another room immediately. And even offered complimentary massages for my inconvenience. I did use the massage as I did 3 treks on the next day - 1. Hike to Ramitay Dara, 2. Hike to the campsite and 3. Hike to manjitar suspension bridge. Great views from ramitay Dara and it's an easy 1.5 HR uphill trek. The campsite is a completely different setting from the mountains. And they do a fabulous barbecue lunch. Just relax by the river and enjoy the food. The 3rd trek to manjitar was ok and can be skipped. I wasn't impressed. The dinners are along with all the other guests and it's like you are having dinner in someone's house. Met people from Germany, London, San Francisco, Denver and Singapore. Wow! Great conversations over great food. Food is a little bland for Indian taste but Faye made me a spicy butter chicken thx next day. Breakfasts are outside the water lily bungalow. Awesome setting. Fabulous service and good choices - eggs, one special every day, and the usual stuff. The 2nd day I hiked to Badamtam tea estate and the Buddha of Badamtam. It's on the hill right opposite the glenburn tea estste - so you go down to 1000 feet and then trek uphill back to 3300 feet. And then they sent a car there to take me to Darjeeling - it's about 40 mins from Badamtam tea factory. Nothing great in Darjeeling. Except to have coffee/tea at Glenarys. Faye ( the estate manager) is very good with the guests and is always available to answer any questions and offer suggestions. Along with Will and Camilla, they make a great team. And not to forget all the staff - my trekking guides - Mandeep and Dinesh. The staff - Sajit, Binod, everyone. A great place in the eastern Himalayas -'not to be missed!"Locavore: "A wonderful experience."
"Fantastic fine dinning in the heart of Ubud. The seven courses plus matching drinks were excellent and delicious, as was the pre dinner 'snacks'. The highlights for me were 'into the sawah' and 'bubur sumsum'. The service was outstanding with each dish and drink fully explained by the waitress. My partner and I left full and very satisfied. The experience is not cheap by any means but certainly worth treating yourself when in Ubud or Bali."The River Resort: "The best of the best"
This is a great resort. My wife and I travel a bit and this was is the finest place we have stayed. We were there for 2 nights. Fantastic views from our room of the Mekong and while having meals. The reception arranged for a nice tuk tuk driver to take us to the nearby ruins of Champasak and to Champasak to have lunch on the river and to see the early 20th century 'palace' for the king of Champasak. The food at the hotel and the staff are great. We arrived at the Pakse bus terminal and a vehicle from the resort was there pick us up. We hope to return here, just to relax.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Fantastic"
Delighted with our stay here. It only has 6 rooms, so the service is very personal, compounded by the fact it is also a hospitality school so you are helping students learn. The room was large and luxurious and the food was the best we had eaten in Myanmar by far.Tugu Lombok: "Unique…authentic hotel"
Good service, good food and beautiful beach. Very unique atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to stay in the North side of Lombok as this part is the most developed one. Would only recommend to stay in hotels such as Oberoi, Lombok lodge, Tugu or Qunci.Amata Lanna: "So happy we stayed here"
I went for a walk alone and felt quite comfortable. My husband and I walked to a restaurant for lunch. We also could walk to dinner one night very convenient location. I can't say enough about the staff, always smiling! I would stay here again.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Beautiful hotel & restaurant"
"We went for lunch and spent a few hours at their beautiful terrace watching the lake. Prices for food are well worth, especially considering how beautiful and calm everything is. The place is a school for unfortunate and unprivileged youth who train to become chefs and hotel staff. Seems like a great project. If within your budget I'd definitely recommend staying a night or two at the hotel. Stayed October 2016"Jing’s Residence: "Somewhere different with old style class"
A different location, a relatively small, old walled city and accomodation to match. The only downside would be Pingyoa has too many shops selling virtually identical goods! The city wall is well worth a walk around.Satri House: "Wonderful stay in Luang Prabang"
"Not by the river, this hotel is nested a 5 minutes bicycle ride from the city attraction. It is a beautiful house, and the maintenance of this heritage house is just superb. Plenty of alleys, smalls buildings set-up on two different levels, it is a pleasure to gaze around, and discovering each corner. The rooms are specious, exceptionally clean, and the quietness over there is to be treasured. A big thank you to the personnel, who has been dedicated to attend every little request from us."
