4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Unbelievably tranquil and away from it all"
"We loved 4 Rivers - it was so tranquil and away from it all (including the Internet!) and after a frenetic few days at Siem Reap and in Phnom Penh it was just amazing to spend time relaxing. The tents are great fun, especially the barrel showers and the rooms are comfortable. The food was really tasty and the young chef is very talented and artistic. All the staff are very friendly and obliging. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Mume: "Great all around experience"
MUME clearly deserves to be ranked in asia's top 50 restaurants as its creative menu, intimate settings, and enthusiastic staff. The food itself is very reasonable for the quality level and we loved the atmosphere and creative cocktails that were offered up by the top notch staff. Moreover, we found the setting warm and for this level of service they managed to avoid some of the usual pompous pitfalls of other fine dining restaurants in town. In short, it was our best meal in Taipei and I would strongly recommend booking in advance for anyone planning to visit TaiwanBabe: "Excellent Food, wonderful Dining Experience"
At our 3 day stopver in KL we had on our last night diner at chef Jeff Ramsey's Babe restaurant and we're sorry not to have gone one night earlier, because we would have come again a 2nd time. The food was just excellent, and the overall dining experience outstanding. We had the 12 course Japas (Japanese Tapas) Tasting Menu for 450 Ringit (they also offer a simpler one for 350 and a premium version for 750 Ringit), and all 12 dishes had been at least very good, some of them absolutely outstanding: the Caramelized Monfish Liver was an explosion of different flavours and had a smooth but still crunchy texture. The Wagy Nigiri was remarkable in quality of meat as well as preparation. A dish named World's Juiciest Lamb Chop lived up to it's label. On top of the excellent food the service was absolutely friendly and competent, which enhanced the overall dining experience. The selection of wine served by the glass was limited, but both the 2 whites (a NZ Sauvignong and a Chilean Gewuerztraminer) and the 2 reds (a Californian Merlot and a Bordeaux) we had were very good. Lastly, the location is fantastic: the restaurant offers a panorama view of the KL skyline, best appreciated from one of the outside tables, recommend strongly to ask for pooldeck (i.e. outside) seating when offered the choice at the reservation. We definitely will go again if we come to KL.Misool: "EXISTE PARAISO NA TERRA"
Paraíso perdido no planeta terra.THE ISLAND LODGE: "The most caring hosts"
"The island lodge is a very special place. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like welcomed guests. We did the bike/boat tour with Michael through the banana plantations and seeing the locals going about their daily life, not another tourist to be seen. Every body is very friendly. And the whole lodge is beautiful. We will definitely return to the island lodge if visiting Vietnam. "Jing’s Residence: "Oasis in the hustle & bustle"
"We can strongly recommend Jing's Residence and the walled City of Pingyao. Pingyao is a full-on, in your face experience - the sights, aromas and sounds of an ancient city engaged in modern commerce - a special experience.. That special experience can be enhanced by staying in the centre of the walled City at Jing's. Jing's is in the thick of the action, but offers a tranquil, high quality refuge to recharge your batteries. Jing's is located in a 400 year old courtyard, tastefully renovated to offer international class accommodation with 1st class service, highly attentive staff and excellent dining. If you go to Pingyao, a stay at Jing's Residence is a must."Reverie Siam: "Wonderful Boutique Hotel"
"Stayed here for 4 nights, second floor mountain view. two swimming pools beautiful gardens wonderful FnB... the 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai was magical... like arriving in Shangri La They had two wonderful musicians playing in the lounge when we had our evening cocktails. Such attention to detail in the design. Somebody has paid an awful lot of attention to this resort, I only wish I could have met the manager to thank him in person. No exaggeration to say one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was fantastic, the cappuccino cinnamon toast was the best in the world. Cannot recommend highly enough Top Tip... grab a beer and head down to the gazebo by the river with your book and just chill out! Don't rely on Google Maps to get you here... it directs to through town to the other side of the river... the hotel is 1km down the street next to the police station"Locavore: "One of finest meals we have ever had"
What a find and we only had lunch. Being from San Francisco, we are food snobs and we enjoyed every part of this meal and atmosphere in the midst of Ubud. Book ahead as truly very special.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Very enjoyable stay"
We stayed here as we were wanting to stay somewhere environmentally aware & we were very happy with the camp etc. The meals we're fantastic, the chef was really to be commended he did a fabulous job. The one observation I would make is that the safaris are focused on finding leopards as you would expect, so if you are interested in viewing other animals speak up. Overall a great experience.Muang La Lodge: "A stunning gem in a remote location"
"This unheralded, stunning resort is a great reward for the traveller who is prepared to undertake a relatively long road journey. Though arduous, that journey is not without some great experiences and vistas. Guided trips would be essential to help reveal the highlights along the way. Planning an extra night stay might appeal to those seeking even more pampering after their endeavours. The swimming pool is wonderful. The hot spring baths and massage service offer other opportunities for indulgence. The accommodation is beautiful and well designed. The beds are sumptuous. The river views are majestic. The restaurant provides fantastic meals, particularly the set five course dinner. The variety of tasty ethnic and local dishes each night was unique. Breakfast was excellent and personalized. The provision of gluten free pancakes demonstrated not only skills at improvisation but also determination to ensure guest satisfaction. For me it was a real bonus and very touching. The walk to the nearby village was great but knowing precisely where and how to access the exciting bamboo raft ferry back across the creek is recommended. The service was superb at all levels within the stablishment."
