Satri House: "Great Service lovely Hotel"
I booked this hotel for my daughter who was backpacking around Asia because I needed an important document signed and the Hotel said they could arrange everything from downloading the document, printing it and after signing DHL it back to the UK. Well not only did they do this but my daughter had a fantastic stay at the hotel, she loved the bedrooms (very comfy mattress apparently) and loved the service. What more can you ask for. Thank you Phommaly TEVAMITH (Mr), great service! The Cabochon Hotel: "Perfect weekend retreat"
What a great hotel! Tucked away at the end of the long stretch of busy Sukhumvit is this gem of a hotel. Small and charming. Friendly, attentive and personable staff. Has a great lounge for cocktails and a rooftop pool. Just 13 rooms!Tugu Malang: "One of the World’s Great Hotels"
"It is rare to find a hotel where service is flawless in every detail: The Tugu Malang, one of the world's few truly great hotels, is such a place: The hotel is of such astonishing beauty and the staff are such nice hard-working people, anxious to please in every way, that the Tugu is in fact a destination in itself. If you have no other reason to stop in Malang, then do so to enjoy the extraordinary pleasures of the Tugu. The rooms are ravishing, each one with some element of art and designed thoughtfully for maximum comfort. Exotic fruits await you; the bed is turned down with a friendly note before you go to sleep. Want your shoes cleaned? They come back polished better than when they were new. Breakfast includes almost unlimited pleasures: the menu is vast and you can combine local and Western dishes. Everything is both artful and delicious and the restaurant setting is a work of art in itself. Afternoon tea is included, with an array of local delicacies, served with the ever-present Tugu charm. The hotel owner has built a world-class museum into the hotel. Seemingly endless antiques and art are fabulously displayed; and the best part is that the hotel supplies a brilliant and knowledgeable tour guide to take you round. My guide was Wahyu, who clearly loves the hotel and told me he takes considerable amounts of time to research the objects on display so as to give the best presentation. His tour was completely involving because of his intelligence and enthusiasm -- it felt like being a celebrity receiving a highly-privileged personal presentation from the head curator of a national museum! I do hope that management will recognize Wahyu's excellence and ensure his career development in both museum curating and management! Reception also has the best people: kind, knowledgeable, helpful. They can get you wherever you want in town and make any needed arrangements for you. If you'd like to visit Bromo I'd highly recommend taking the cross-desert route from Malang: it is highly scenic and also quite surreal in places. I did the trip the other way round by ojek (motorbike taxi), but you can also do it by jeep and the Tugu can make arrangements. The ability to take this mindbending route is reason enough to stay in Malang. But you don't even need that reason. The rare graciousness, fragrant beauty, opulence, detailed service and pure delight that exemplifies everything the Tugu stands for means that you should head for the Tugu if you are anywhere in the region for no other reason than to stay in one of the most fabulous five-star hotels in the world at a price for which you would get something only very ordinary in the USA or Europe. This is a best of the best, a treasure, a complete delight: don't miss the opportunity to stay there!"Glenburn Tea Estate: "Paradise!"
We had been told that Glenburn was a special place by others that had stayed, but that goes a little way to describe the experience that myself and my partner had... it's a truly magical destination. Our room Rangeet was stunning, as is the rest of the estate, so beautifully maintained by the meticulous staff and gardeners. We loved the communal dinners, especially the tea themed night which was extremely tasty. The staff throughout our stay were always very helpful and friendly, there is always someone around too. We decided to take the hike down to the river and have lunch there, which was beautiful, as again the food exceptional! I would also really recommend having a massage, one of the best I have ever had... We were lucky enough to see an extraordinary sunset one evening, I don't think there can be another view like it anywhere in Darjeeling. The whole place, and our stay felt so serene and relaxed that a special shout out must go to Jemima and Holly who manage the place and are obviously making sure things run so smoothly - thanks you two! My only complaint would be the road, lucky for Glenburn they have some of the best drivers in the world! Can't wait to go back.Villa Song Saigon: "An oasis of calm amidst the madness of Saigon"
"Yega and his team make every effort to make a stay at the Villa Song a memorable occasion. They are extremely warm, professional and hospitable and the hotel is in a spectacular setting on the banks of the Saigon river. There was a wedding on when we were staying. We were naturally concerned given we had two young children with us and we were worried that the noise would prevent them sleeping. The staff were extremely accommodating however, gave us an excellent recommendation for a dinner location nearby (to which they paid the taxi) and ensured that the noise from the wedding was not excessive. We were keen to eat in the restaurant as we heard great things about the food- however we didn't get the chance because of the wedding... next time, we hope. well worth a stay. "Supanniga Cruise: "Well worth it!"
"The biggest tip I can give is - go to their facebook page and follow them - you will then be privy to their specials (50% off or buy 3 get 1 free) - there seems to always be something! We did the dinner and champagne cruise and it was beautiful. Perfect food (as always with Supanniga restaurants) and the boat was much much better than the other you see on the river. Cant fault it and would so go again."The Village House: "Great romantic hideaway"
"We stumbled across this hotel by chance after being deeply disappointed and cancelling our reservation with Damai Beach Resort. As soon as we walked through the door I knew this was the place. The host came out to greet us and we enjoyed a refreshing welcome drink. It's a fantastic place for couples. Very relaxing, chilled with great food. I especially enjoyed the hammocks with a good book. We took advantage of the free cinema and games room every night which was a nice touch!"Sanak Retreat Bali: "Retreat of all retreats"
"We actually stayed here in October 2015 and took the risk of heading up into the mountains to go see what we can find. We came across this special peace of Bali and could not have been happier. The location is stunning and the concept is magical. True Balinese warmth makes this retreat a little slice of heaven. A true experience of all senses and one of the highlights of magical Bali. It is a little trek to get here away from the main coasts and hustle and bustle of Ubud but it is worth it. Step away from the tourist trail and places like this allow you to discover the real beauty of Indonesia and their people. Stayed June 2016, traveled as a couple"Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "wonderful place to stay"
A friend and I just had a wonderful 4 night stay in one of the two bedroomed residences in this charming quirky colonial style hotel. It's filled with beautiful things that are either saved over much time or recently acquired by someone with seriously good taste.(...)The staff were friendly and helpful at all times and it was a treat to sit out on the balcony in total peace each morning reading the daily paper and enjoying being looked after with a (complimentary) breakfast before heading into the madness that is Bangkok. This hotel is down a quiet street (ski) in a lovely part of town, so peaceful yet so close to almost everything one needs to see and do.It also has complimentary phones calls to anywhere in the world - I'm a frequent traveller and this is a first for me.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Delightful Boutique Hotel"
The Tharhara Inle Heritage Hotel is a delight. I don’t give 5 stars lightly, but this one deserves it. A small boutique hotel comprising just 10 individual cottages on stilts, at the southern end of Inle Lake. They do everything right from an environmental / cultural perspective. The hotel serves as a training ground for students in the hospitality industry. It grows its own vegetables in a sustainable manner. It encourages conservation. It houses a Burmese cat rehabilitation project. Highly recommended as a base to tour the sights and cottage industries of southern Inle.
