David’s Kitchen: "Impeccable experience and amazing food"
My fiends and I (all in our 30s and foodies who travel all over the world) went to Davids based off a friends recommendation. When we arrived, we were so pleasantly surprised to have David himself greet us at the door. Our table was ready with a welcome sign with our names at the table (small detail that not many restaurants do). We tried 4 appetizers, 3 dinners, a dessert and signature cocktails. Every thing we ordered was so delicious and presented perfectly. The pumpkin soup was phenomenal. We also had escargot, surf and turf, lamb shank.... I can't say there was even the simplest thing that we didn't love. Knowing that we're foodies, we told David who offered to take us into the kitchen and we took pictures with all the chefs. They then followed us with a personalized email which just was the perfect end to an already fabulous! Highly recommend making a visit.... you won't regret it!Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Amazing dinner with friends"
Very innovative. I'm impressed by the quality of their ingredients and ideas. This is the best modern Thai restaurant in Thailand. All dishes were executed with great confidence.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Fine Dining In Yangon"
This place is run by a charming and experienced Swiss couple who clearly know what they are doing - the ambience is great the food excellent and the service is good. We meant to go back again for lunch but sadly were not able to fit it in. Well worth a visit and highly recommendedSEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Amazing food"
Have been here twice - once for lunch and once for a special dinner. Both times were amazing - the setting is beautiful, service amazing and the food (the real treasure of the place). High quality and tasty - food that I could get in Europe (which is hard to find in Myanmar). The set menu was pricey but worth it - truffle ravioli and lamb come highly recommended. The chocolate fondant is amazing too!Satri House: "Hotel with history and great attention to details"
"We chose this hotel because of its history, it was the childhood home of the youngest prince of Laos. A good and safe 10-15min walk to riverside and restaurants and bars. Wifi was really good throughout the whole hotel. Gianni the new manager was always around the hotel grounds if you needed any help. Staff here are really helpful; one even helped me mark out some restaurant on the map that we wanted to try. Hotel should try to get a better map done vs using an internet print out. All the staff spoke fairly good English, no issues communicating just speak in simple English and not too fast. 3 staff members stood out for us;Daoluck,Thongdeuan and Chanhtalay Breakfast was made to order no crappy buffet food here.. Homemade jams that came with their toast/croissants were lovely, my fav was the tomato jam. However, their breakfast options could have been a little more flexible. Received a small snack everyday ard 2-4pm. Plenty of bottled water provided. Comfortable beds. 2 different turn down service; one in the morning/early afternoon to make the bed and tidying up and one in the evening to prepare the room for sleeping; mosquito net and even the way they fold the duvet during the evening turn down service is different for the morning service to make it easier for you to climb into bed. Top sheets available on bed(so your body doesn't come in contact with the duvet), not many 4-5star hotels practice this anymore. No ugly mosquito nets here, they have a linen mosquito canopy. Though not necessary, it would have been nice to have plush bedroom slippers as an added luxury that would help make the old wooden floors less slippery. We stayed in a deluxe room, old wooden floors creak a bit so try to get a room on the 2nd floor. No tv in the room unless requested(this definitely helps maintain the old world charm. Vintage pieces all around the hotel, there is so much history! Keep up the great work Satri House! You exceeded expectations! Room Tip: Rooms on 2nd floor away from roads"Tugu Bali: "Quiet and Quixotic"
Happy greeting at the airport and then in true Bali fashion a journey of faith to get to your hotel, through by roads and back roads but was that faith rewarded!! Entering the Tugu you enter old magical Bali and it remains that way for your whole stay. Our suite, while expensive was somewhere we could hang out most of the day if we chose with our own little garden and swimming pool. The hotel gardens are beautiful during the day and enchantingl at night. The staff were, without exception, charming and helpful and yoga and the spa a real treat. Loved the food and had the majority of our meals in the hotel. Don't all rush as we want to go back when we can!!Tugu Malang: "Excellent deco, service and spa"
"Very nice hotel located close to train station (no need taxi). Many antiques collected by owner make hotel deco look unique with many rooms to discover and nice pieces of furniture. They know how to greet guests and make business: 15mn massage offered, very good local pastries with drink offered at tea time. Nice pool for children, good restaurant and cosy colonial bar. Great location to visit the town and the region. Very good surprise to find this hotel in this small town."Sanak Retreat Bali: "Getting better and better"
I stayed at Sanak a couple years ago and always wanted to go back. I finally did and had an even better time than I did the 1st time. Sebastian and his team really have the term 'hospitality' at heart, attending to your every need. Now the property has a spa too so it adds to the sense of relaxation. But if you want to stay active, many excursions are possible, always with local people that know the area very well. I recommend to stay at least 2 nights to fully take in all that Munduk and Sanak have to offer. I look forward to coming back!Sandat Glamping Tents: "WOW!! THE BEST HOTEL I’VE EVER STAYED IN!"
"Well what can I say, it was such an amazing experience I cried I was that overwhelmed. What beautiful, kind and caring people who actually meant it. Tengo the manager was by far my favourite who was so kind he made me cry at breakfast, I gave him the biggest hug when we left :) We was sadly only here for 3 days :( and had so much booked we didn't spend as much time at the hotel as we would of liked. I say hotel because it's far too lovely to be called glamping :) I had a yoga lesson first thing in the morning which was breath taking over looking the rice fields and a great teacher who corrected you when you were out of place. I also had a massage in my room which was the best massage I've ever had. We ate here twice and both times the food was superb along with their cocktails and wine and such a stunning setting, the owner really does have amazing taste, shabby chic but with immense attention to detail. The waitress's were also lovely and so sweet, would do anything for you. People moan about the location, but it clearly states it's not in the centre and offers a free shuttle bus which is basically a private taxi to 2 drop off points so really no need to moan there. We had a lovely driver one day who took us to the waterfall, holy temple and coffee plantation which I'd highly recommend. We got the shuttle to the monkey forest one day, if you're not scared do try and buy some bananas to feed them, it's a great experience when they jump on your shoulders, amazing creatures. The hotel offered to book the mount batur trip for us which is a MUST but i'd advise booking in the town, it's a quarter of the price and you get to do this with a group which is much more fun, keep in mind you have to be quite fit and there are no loos once you start climbing, but one of the best experiences of my life, incredible and breath taking views. Breakfast was beautifully laid out and they will cook you any eggs you like, omelette, pancakes, scrambled etc, some great healthy options too including bee polen for your cereal. Now if you are scared of creatures this place is not for you and they state that on their site, I loved it and really enjoyed the frogs hopping around and beautiful geckos, but they will be in your bathroom and may even visit at dinner, but hey this is why this is called glamping, you're in with nature and I think it's fantastic but like I said if if you're scared it's not for you. The rooms are out of this world with stunning furniture and outside bathroom and your pool which is shared or your own depending what you book is right outside your room which is great. I honestly can't express to you enough what an unbelievable experience this really was and was a sad moment to leave such a unique and beautiful place, I will defiantly return as Ubud completely stole a piece of my heart!"The Village House: "A quiet pool of calm; a haven in the jungle. R&R and lovely, friendly staff."
"My boyfriend and I returned to a cold England today after staying at the Village House for five days, after a rather hectic two-week exploration of Brunei and Malaysia. The Village House, and the surrounding area was the ideal relaxing end to our holiday There are plenty of places to explore nearby; two beautiful beaches, local villages where the people are very friendly and day trips further afield to see national parks and nature, or to explore the jungle or local culture. (...) The staff are all incredibly friendly, helpful and eager to please, and we built up a good rapport with them during our stay there. It's clear they have great respect for the place and hope guests feel the same way. The room was VERY clean, with cleaners coming in twice per day, and there is a library and TV room, with wifi, for guests to use, in addition to the beautiful swimming pool and relaxation areas with hammocks, sun loungers etc. We had absolutely no complaints, and would recommend anyone to stay here (...)"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
