Samuay & Sons: "Simply The Best Thai Restaurant in Thailand"
This restaurant is best described" Simply the best Thai restaurant in Thailand " We went there after reading a few reviews and so happy we managed to get a table on our first night in Udon Thani. We got there at almost 9pm at the suggestion of the owner because there was a big group of guests at 8pm and he did not want us to wait long for our orders. We were a bit hungry when we got there and ordered more than what we could eat but at the suggestions of the owner we cut down a few dishes to save some spaces for their desserts. The desserts we had were " something to die for ". We enjoyed every dish we had. No need to guess where we went for dinner the following night. Service was also excellent and definitely very good for value. We wish there was a Samuay & sons in Bangkok.David’s Kitchen: "Best Restaurant in Chiang Mai"
What a wonderful evening at David's Kitchen. Even though it was a monsoon outside, the restaurant was absolutely packed. Both food and drink were great. I highly recommend the lobster bisque. The cocktail and wine list were both excellent. Chef David stopped by every table to chat with the customers and make sure they were having a great meal. Excellent and personalized service at its best.Tugu Bali: "3 days at the end of 2 weeks in Bali with our daughter and 2 grandchildren"
"Very interesting layout. Our suite was on the second floor with a huge Japanese style tin bath and great ocean view. Very rustic appearance, but with all modern conveniences. Our daughter's suite had a plunge pool and koi pond. The best aspects of the hotel were the perfect service, and the large grassy lawn space next to the beach. By the second day the wait staff knew us by name. Be sure to try one of their many specialty prix fixe dinners. Not much to do outside the resort, compared to other areas of Bali, but that's OK."Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A special place to stay on the Lake"
"The staff were very helpful and willing to please, we enjoyed being spoilt as there is only six rooms. We were fortunate to stay for two nights over Valentine's Day, we returned to our room after dinner to the room being filled with rose petals and hot water bottles in the bed. On our second night the staff baked a special birthday cake and all the staff came out to sing happy birthday to my husband. The bungalows are tastefully decorated and comfortable. The whole resort is a wonderful experience from the lovely food in the restaurant, the playful cat haven and kind and caring staff. Highly recommend for a special and memorable stay. Stayed February 2016, traveled as a couple"Yandabo Home: "A little luxury in a surprising location"
"Ok let's start at the beginning. Yandabo is a small village on the edge of the irrawaddy river. Its only recently got electricity and is home to a very traditional way of life with the local village making pottery by ways long forgotten by the western world! So if you come here expecting fine dining, satellite TV, tarred roads and modern communication you might be disappointed. The Yandabo is however very well equipped with fantastic rooms which surpasses most city rooms, with a cavernous bathroom and a bedroom that is simply luxurious. Comfort is without compromise. The service too is fantastic with staff available and enthusiastic to give you as much as they can.. Food is of a very high standard too. All in all the Yandabo has achieved a remarkable level of accommodation considering it's location and I would happily recommend anyone to stay here."Misool Eco Resort: "Wow, What an amazing Place"
"this is the one place the journey to get there is worth the experience, the resort is spacious and well laid out the rooms are well laid out and the outdoor bathroom/shower while strange for the 1st time soon became normal. the food and the dining area was great, there is beer and wine available but no spirits or bar service, so if you have a favorite tipple then you will need to bring that with you, but food and accommodation aside you are here to dive and you wont be be disappointing, the house reef Jetty dive is probably the best house reef dives in the world, this is only location I am aware of were you can see Reef Mantas and Oceanic Mantas interacting at the same cleaning station, the variety of see life is incredible, Pygmy seahorse, turtles, sharks, Nudi's, corrals, if you can think of it there probably is one there somewhere, we even had whales passing the bay during evening drink times. if you are into photography, you are going to have a few challenges, makro, wide angle, video, the dives are so diverse you need every option available, the other challenge is the sea life is so rich the fish keep getting in the way of your shots... overall this resort is not easy to get to it is at the upper end of the cost market, but is it worth it, yes and Yes my last comment is a bit selfish since I have now had the honor of visiting this region is that we (the traveler) continue to seek out remote untouched places to visit, they then become popular destroying the reason we went there in the first place, the management of the resort and the sanctuary zone is extremely well done, i truly hope it does not bend to more commercial pressures."Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "A lovely hideaway from the loudness of Bangkok"
"A really special place in Bangkok. Unlike nearly every other hotel there, this is a low rise, colonial style hotel which is super relaxed. Located perfectly for exploring trendy Sukhimvit, you will have a wealth of great places to drink and eat within 15 min walk (again unlike many hotels which are often quite far away any cafe/bar/restaurants) Hotel itself has a real personality, feels like you've stepped into a time-warp back to 'French-indochine' times but is very nicely maintained. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with lovely hard wood flooring, huge windows. Restaurant is good for dinner, breakfast nothing special but fine. Staff very helpful, but never too pushy. In short, it's a very nice, very quiet place to hide away from the noise, smoke and general madness that is Bangkok."Hotel Tugu Malang: "Amazing hotel amazing staff"
"Our stay at Tugu owned hotel in Blitar was our first introduction to the chain. Knowing little about the area prior to our arrival in Indonesia we thought we might as well stick with the same chain for our subsequent Malang visit and we are happy we did. We were utterly impressed by the quality which we think deserves some publicity for others to experience themselves, especially for travellers who seek out low key (read: reasonably priced) and independently owned boutique accommodation. From the moment we arrived until the time we departed friendly staff were around to ensure our comfort. Tugu hotels contain local history. But what stood out for us is how they made us feel comfortable. An early morning incident exemplified why our praise of the chain. Unbeknownst to the staff the team of a visiting official had a very loud sound system test at 3 in the morning across from the hotel. Upon inquiry staff was immediately on hand to relocate us to another room for a few hours of quiet rest. This was followed by numerous apologies by different staff we encountered next day in each corner of the premise. The ultimate apology was when we were upgraded to an incredible suite for our second night despite our assurance that we were alright in our original room. We travel extensively and stay at many different hotel/Airbnb accommodations. Such a response stands out and is cherished. And one more thing. On top of the great service they offer afternoon tea offering local tea and coffee and assortments of local sweets and treats. To us that’s what sweet memories are made of."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "A truly fulfilling bucket list worthy destination that defines the future of sustainable tourism"
"4 rivers is a resort in Tatai, Koh Kong that floats in its entirity on a river! You will book this destination most likely because of the idylic overland pictures, but read some more about it and discover what hidden treasures lie around and near this location... Once we landed we met with our driver and were on our way to 4rivers. We were pleasantly surprised on our car journey when we made a stop at a picnic resort and were able to enjoy a fantastic lunch of fresh seafood. Upon reaching the starting point of the destination is the 4rivers riverside departure point. There we were greeted with an exceptionally warm and friendly welcome explaining the short boat journey ahead. The adventure begins! We were explained the history of the area and the significance of the river enroute and it's quite interesting to hear about. You will notice immediately that there is no pollution and the water is still and clear. 4rivers is a place where you will not care if you have a wifi/3g signal or not as you are immersed in nature and truly able to absorb your pristine surrounds. It is my sincere belief that 4rivers can be healing for your soul given its placement and eco concept that takes into account the 360 degree impact of what they do there. We learned that a few of the activities they have including treks are done by former poachers or hunters who now make an income from tourism by being guides. 4rivers links with a small island of inhabitants who also work with the resort. They have very interesting stories to tell about life on the river. You meet interesting local characters here and that is part of the charm. Arriving at 4 rivers is much like discovering a lost paradise at a distance on your motor boat as it putters along the incredibly still river surrounded by lush jungle. Again a warm welcome awaits at the pier by your hosts. We are given a welcome drink and a small debriefing about the resort and a tour of the room workings. What I would highly recommend is to plan your stay by your activities, as there is plenty to do here aside from taking an instant dip in the crisp cool river or a kayak workout around the nearby island. There is the waterfall cruise where you can see and bathe in one of the most beautiful waterfalls you will ever see up close and personal. There are also treks which are of various levels of challenge and duration - some of which include a meal with some locals at a village - these require some notice. The minimum stay recommended here is 2 nights although more nights are needed to fully appreciate the location. We left thinking we should have at least stayed 1 more night and planned for a trek or kayak session. The food at 4 rivers is nothing short of delicious - the set menu options are great as are the appetizers and a la carte items. The barman serves up great drinks which is an added bonus here. You can also talk to the guys and get something made if you like as they are very attentive. You do get to know the staff here quite well even over 2 nights which is special given all that they do for you to make your stay memorable. The tent-rooms at 4rivers are well appointed with fans to keep you cool and ample space to move and lounge around. The tent structures can be fully covered with curtains or opened up with mesh liners for better air circulation, which can also be opened up to really connect with your surrounds. Bugs are easily kept out of tents and that is a relief! They do have insect repellent on-site and its recommended to use this - especially if you go for seeing the fireflies. The barrel like standing bath enclosures, which are locally constructed, have to be some of the most unique I have encountered. Overall a very wholesome experience that binds you to nature coupled with exceptional service. We departed 4rivers with a solemn promise to return again and perhaps with some more company & for a longer stay."KHWAN BEACH RESORT: "Perfect pool villa away from the rush"
"Khwan...What a place. Thanks to tripadvisor, i found this gem. Since there werent many reviews, i was a bit skeptical at first, but the moment i arrived, all my fears went away, as the place was amazing and the honeymoon trip ended on a perfect note. it is a duplex pool villa. There is a small living room, kitchen and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs is the bedroom and another bathroom with a balcony. Super clean, very chic decor with works of art adorning the walls. Due to a storm, the nearby beach(2 minute walk) was a mess. We hired a bike, and went to the fishermans village (recommended). The breakfast options are limited, and you need to inform in advance. It is served to you in the villa. The pool is perfect in size to relax. There are two deck chairs to laze about as well. Gail at the front desk was great. Very polite and will help you out with info for everything from shopping to bike hiring and tours etc. If you want to chill and relax and a pool is your thing, look no further. Khwan is the place to go. "
