The Hue House: "Dinner"
Probably the best meal so far in Saigon this beautiful Vietnamaurrant sits on top of mastr building .Quite difficult to find but well worth the effort.Xcellnt food and staff very friendly price rang very reasonableMesaStila: "Nature and Forrest Conservation"
This is a private villa with very expensive food prices. Perfect for honeymoon or stress relieve. If you are no a hotel guess than your access only to the restaurant. So the hotel guess will have their privacy. Professional management. Very large area. There are fishing pond. Tennis court. Swimming pool. You can hear the bird singing in the forrest. Very quite and relaxing.Dewakan: "A culinary adventure"
"It's definitely a trek to get there but the reward far outweighs the hassle! Finally in Malaysia a restaurant brave enough to march to its own tune. Dewakan embodies everything that Malaysians have always known about with regards to flavours and ingredients but has never been able to harness. Here the true beauty of Malaysian food at its highest standard is served with pride. I can rave about each individual dish but I will let the photos speak in my stead. Speaking to Chef Darren Teoh, the passion and dedication to produce the best is clearly evident. Dewakan is clearly in uncharted waters but its upward trajectory is plainly evident. I look forward to many more meals there."Villa Song Saigon: "Wonderful Gem of a Boutique Hotel – Do Not Miss"
"A beautifully restored French Colonial property, Villa Song boasts just 23 rooms in a low key neighborhood, surrounded by expat residences and international schools. Hard to imagine that not much more than a decade ago, this area was pretty much swamp land! Before going, you really should know what Villa Song is not: - This is not a large chain hotel - every contact you have with the staff is friendly and warm, and chances are you may not know their names but they will certainly know yours. You're not just a face in the crowd. However, for being of such an intimate size, Villa Song has the extras that you don’t often find in similar boutique hotels: a gorgeous long swimming pool for doing laps or sunning yourself by, a pretty decently equipped gym room (machines & free weights), and a spa that doesn’t break the bank. - This is not a property you visit to party at as there's no late night bar or club thumping away downstairs (thank goodness). Along the same lines, don’t expect around-the-clock room service – we certainly didn’t miss it, since there’s a ton of late night delicious eats in this city. - Having said that, this is not the most accessible hotel to popular street eats and the sights, but it's surprisingly easy to get around, thanks to the complimentary hotel boat shuttle that zips you up/down the Saigon River to/from the Cau Mong pier on the border of Districts 4 & 1. These run on a schedule (book at the reception beforehand), and if there isn't one when you need it, an Uber saves you the hassle of dealing with unscrupulous cabbies, and takes you to/from the middle of District 1 within 15min for around US$6- US$7. Now onto what this beautiful property IS: - It is infinitely charming. Every room is unique, and even the same room type will vary in size. You'll get the same awesome water pressure in the shower though, which we loved, and lightning fast wi-fi. Also, in our case, although the Sanctuary room that we were upgraded to was a bit petite in size, we had a wonderful good-sized balcony that overlooked the river...perfect for a mid-afternoon beer (complimentary from the minibar) or a snooze. Breakfasts by the river are a calming way to start the day, no matter what time you decide to rise (!!!), and the food is well- portioned and delicious. And THAT iced Vietnamese coffee...my partner and I will be dreaming of those until our next visit! - It is incredibly service oriented. From check-in to check-out, and for our every want in-between, the staff at Villa Song offer up their help with warmth and smiles...we felt truly welcomed and at home. Besides our complimentary room upgrade upon our late night check-in, we were surprised with a cheesecake plate that was decorated with warm wishes (the trip was a belated birthday trip for my partner) – we were very touched. - It is really good value for money. While it’s not the cheapest hotel around, it certainly delivers much better bang for your buck than you’d expect for similar boutique properties, especially if you can find a deal through a third party website. Bathrooms are fully equipped with toiletries, toothbrushes and other bits you may have forgotten, hairdryers, and in-room Nespresso and minibar is complimentary (albeit with a selection that’s a bit spare), and the value-add of the boat shuttle to town that I mentioned previously takes it to the next level. Thank you to everyone at the Villa Song for a wonderful stay! The next time we visit, we will definitely be indulging ourselves with a stay at one of your beautifully appointed suites. We can’t wait."Locavore: "Lives up to its reputation"
Fine food, delicate flavours, perfect preparation, beautiful presentation, impeccable service. We had 5 courses with matched alcohol (note not wine but you could have wine if preferred). A must for those who love fine food.Maduzi Hotel: "Hidden retreats in the busy Bangkok"
"I am glad i found Maduzi Hotel in my Bangkok Hotels research before the trip, I wish that I found it sooner before we booked another hotel but me and my husband were lucky that we get to stay here for 3 nights out of our 6 days holiday in Bangkok. The location of this hotel is just a 3-5mins walk from Asok BTS which made it easier for us to travel to any corner of the city also 10-15 mins walk to Nana. The room itself was so fascinating. It was worth the price that we paid. Super big room with a very comfy king-sized bed and also a relaxing couch by the window. When we walked in to the bathroom, it was like we were in a celebrity's house. Big mirror with lovely lighting, walk-in closet, and the best part of it was the bathtub X jacuzzi! It was huge and quite deep, it could fit 2 people in it, and to fill the tub, the water will fall from the roof. Very unique and nice touch! On the other hand, they have a coffee machine in each of the room, also you can have free tea or coffee at their bar for 24/7. It was very relaxing after so much of walking around. They didn't have many breakfast options, but we tried almost every menu and they were delicious.. Every morning that's the thing we look after and if you wake up late you can have your breakfast as your brunch. I'm so looking forward to be back here and enjoy all of the fascinating facilities Maduzi has. Thank you for making our holiday memorable."The Island Lodge: "Beautiful boutique hotel next to the river"
"We returned with our 4 yrs old for a second time to the Island Lodge and stayed three nights. I believe it's the best thought through boutique hotel I ever came across in SE Asia. The river view rooms are in 2F, right above the open restaurant, the very good size pool is next to the restaurant and everything is right next to the river. Basically wherever you are and whatever you do, you will have a river view (obviously not from the garden rooms). It is the perfect place for doing absolutely nothing. Food and drinks are good and you should be able to find something on either the French or the Vietnamese menu. The rooms have a good size and are very clean, the pool is great and big and never felt crowded. All the staff are very friendly and they will help whenever they can. The Lodge offers a few tours, which are not so bad if this is your first time to SE Asia. There are some areas which could be improved though. I had the manicure/pedicure which was really not that great. Sitting with hand and feet tucked into tiny bowls for quite a while was not very relaxing. I had the impression they want to offer the service, but the location is not really prepared for it. The manicure/pedicure itself was just ok. The other thing which bothered us one morning 7ish was to wake up to Vietnamese techno music played loudly in one of the neighboring houses. I hope this was because we stayed the days right after new year with all the schools off. Nevertheless, the Island Lodge is a fantastic place and we will be back. Stayed January 2017, traveled with family"Jing’s Residence: "Old World Charm and Service"
Jing's Residence is a place where you can relax and recharge while travelling through China. You are staying in the centre of Pinyao and it is a busy place but once you are through the discreet entrance everything is all calm.Glenburn Tea Estate: "A wonderful place"
"On the journey down to Glenburn I was rather wishing we had just stayed in Darjeeling ...and then we arrived. From the moment we stepped out of the car I was smitten! There was a lovely warm welcome from Jemima and Glenburn itself is the most beautiful place, it feels straight from the pages of an upmarket magazine. The house is full of the most beautiful textiles and furnishings and the views are to die for. We had lunch under the pomelo tree - and what a treat to be able to eat salads after 3 weeks in India. The food is delicious, fresh and unusual and different at every meal. All the staff were lovely and Jemima organised everything seamlessly and with a smile. I would go back again in an instant. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"The River Resort: "Wunderschön"
