Mie Cafe: "Red ants and beef a winner"
Yes, actual red ants served with the beef. Lightly sweet and full of flavor. The curry chicken was also a winner. Excellent service, clean, open all day while others are closed between lunch and dinner.Mie Cafe: "Wonderful experience!"
"A dinner in this restaurant was amazing! The food is interesting, very well presented, and creative! Clear that the chef knows what he is doing! It was a pleasure meeting him and have a little chat. Even the rain didn't ruin the experience, and may be made it even more special. Extremely recommended!"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Go for the guided tour"
"There are 3 guided tours everyday (11am, 2pm & 3:30pm) in Mandarin and English. The entrance fee is RM17 (approx $4) for adult and RM 8.50 for child (approx $2). If you wanted to go for the owner guided tour, it's on Friday at 11am and 2pm. Don't miss it ! Definitely a must visit destination if you are down in Penang. Stayed April 2017, traveled with friends"Villa Song Saigon: "Truly the most beautiful hotel you will ever stay in"
"What a stunningly beautiful hotel in a truly gorgeous setting next to the Saigon River. We only had 2 nights in HCMC at the end of a two week trip to Vietnam and with the benefit of hindsight would definitely have stayed longer at Villa Song. The hotel is located in District 2, away from the city but close enough not to be a problem for pick ups/drop offs etc from tour operators. We chose the hotel specifically for it's location having done a similar thing in Bangkok where our hotel was located down the river with access to the city provided by shuttle boat. This worked perfectly for us then so we knew we would appreciate the same set up. The only flaw in our plan was allocating 2 nights instead of 4 or 5! We did a full day trip on the Mekong River with Mango Cruises (highly recommended) which didn't leave us much time to enjoy the hotel but what we did experience we loved and would definitely come back with more time to enjoy. Dinner at the restaurant watching the light change over the river with all the beautiful fairy lights decorating the garden was simply spectacular. Food & service was great. Rooms are big and beautifully appointed, good air con, good bathroom although the layout doesn't leave much bench space for toiletries and makeup however that would have been my only disappointment. Breakfast is a la carte with wonderful options on the menu and great coffee included. If we were coming back to Saigon I wouldn't book anywhere but here. Truly one of the highlights in hotel experiences. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"Villa Song Saigon: "Stunning start to our honeymoon"
This is a gorgeous place to stay. Rooms are very comfortable, limitless breakfast whenever you want and the staff can't do enough for you. Shame the shuttle boat was out of action but the management did not hesitate to reimburse for our taxis to and from town. Highly recommended.Locavore: "Still the best – even better than last time"
I tha been two years since my last visit - luckily the quality is even better now. The dishes are beautiful to look at, each has its distnict taste and the drink pairing is clever. Steady quality through the whole meal - 2 1/2 hours went by too soon.Flower Island: "Gorgeous, stylish resort with a strong personal touch"
"Stayed three nights here last week, and had an unforgettable time. I think what sets this apart from some of the top end resorts is the personal touch and the tasteful, considered aesthetic. The cottages and restaurant are set back behind the palm trees so as not to create an imposing man made frontage. The use of natural objects like sea shells, bamboo and palms feels, along with the 'ethnic' decor somehow feels more inspired than the cliched attempts you usually see in these sorts of places. (....)the island does genuinely create a special sort of intimacy and calm. I really can not speak highly enough of this place."MesaStila: "The moon of paradise"
If you like to know about coffee plantation, to hear an indonesian music and to have a rest is that one of the best place. Five starts hospitality. The spa - including the turkish bath - was brillinat. The food is excellent.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "A must stay experience"
"This place is amazing. Everything has been thought of to make his experience truly amazing. A boat picks you up and you can go to a nearby waterfall to swim and kayak. Our kids were towed along part of the river back to the hotel and loved it! The hotel is floating in a quiet area of the river. You can swim directly off your room, paddle or stand up paddle. The rooms are are very thoughtful and have everything you would expect. All toiletries are Eco friendly. There are movies and books (rained for a few hours) board games etc. The meals are delicious, the trip to see the fireflies is exciting. You must go and stay here, one night really isn't enough!"Villa Song Saigon: "The Best Place To Stay!!!"
We stayed at Villa Song in an Art Suite for 7 nights in October. It could not have been a better ending to a 22 night vacation. As mentioned numerous times, the location is peaceful, yet with the complimentary boat shuttle, district 1 is a mere 12-15 minute ride away (also a free sightseeing trip). It is newly renovated and has only 23 very tastefully decorated rooms/suites. if you want the chaos and pollution of HCMC at your front door, I wouldn't suggest here. If its elegance, beauty, and genuine heartfelt service, this is the place. Breakfast is anytime and the choices are many. You will not go away hungry. As for dinner choices, the menu is quite large. We seldom eat at our hotel, generally due to quality and overcharging, but ate dinner here 6 nights. We tried every section of the menu. (Asian, western, seafood, salad, noodles, soup...etc.) It was all amazing, and for an extremely very reasonable price. Please do not overlook dining here. We had the opportunity to meet the chef, he is somewhat new to this hotel but has a good deal of experience. He is a young Vietnamese gentleman who is very proud and devoted to his food. All and all, this place is a real gem. The staff are amazing and take great pride in everything that they do. Serene location, Saigon River view, cheap and easy access to district 1, awesome food, and a staff that any hotel would envy...can't beat it!
