Tugu Bali: "Staying in the middle of art and culture"

Review by: Kristjan K | Source: Trip Advisor
"We were travelling with three small kids (3,5,7) and Tugu hotel in Canggu was our last stop in Bali after staying in Intercontinental Jimbaran and the villas in Ubud and Lovina. We were looking for something different than the large chain hotels and Tugu hotel turned out to be just the right place. The hotel does not belong to the Small Luxury Hotels, Relais&Chateaux (they do not have any hotels in Indonesia yet?) or Boutique Hotels, so we found it kind of accidentally as our friends had recommended to stay in Canggu area and hotel Tugu is #1 in Canggu. The hotel could easily fit into the quality standards of the small luxury hotels. Although the hotel has a pool, this is not the reason to come to this hotel. There are hotels with bigger and better pools. Tugu hotel is for the guests who love architecture, art and culture, who are excited about original interior design and high quality antiquities and handicraft surrounding at every step: in the room, in the garden and literally everywhere. The service was perfect even on the background of the Balinese being in general polite and friendly. I would like to give special thank you to Pande Dwipa for an excursion in the facilities: Tugu hotel is an exquisite art museum and hotel in one. I can only admire the vision of the hotel owner Anhar Setjadibrata, to share the art he has collected with the guests in his hotels. Tugu hotel is definitely ""worth a detour"", to use a Michelin term."

Mathis Retreat: "No words can explain this place"

"After two nights we've decided to extend our stay! It's a romantic place This place us right in the middle of the rice fields, impressive nature the only noise you get here is from the nature, green all around. We had a really good massage surrounded by nature The service is great and polite, their Terracotta Restaurant is one of the best of this area, we had an amazing dinner here. The management is very helpful, they gave us lot of advices."

Muang La Lodge: "Improbable et parfait"

Review by: Robert M | Source: Trip Advisor

Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Relaxed beach island getaway"

Review by: shelljess | Source: Trip Advisor
"We were looking for a relaxing place in Thailand where our kids could explore in nature and we could all spend time unwinding. We had to attend an event in phuket and in contrast to our normal holidays there wouldn't be much in the way of wildlife so we were looking for an alternative place to include in the trip. Golden buddha resort was a wonderful choice. Our boys had plenty of safe beaches to run and explore with loads of ghost crabs, little land crabs, mudskippers at low tide and the occasional monkey troupe. The houses were traditional style and the fans and nets made it comfortable to just kick back in the hotter part of the day. We loved our resident lizards and frogs and hornbills. The beach pizza and yummy smoothies were a favourite with the kids. The menu was small but we enjoyed the meals, which were fresh and well constructed. I'm used to a family of males that constantly eat so had packed snacks (lock up from monkeys lol) and given there's no shops it's a good idea if you have hungry kids. Beach bbq is great and lots of fun to chat with other guests and staff. If your looking for an eco, nature play destination with family it's a beautiful spot. Great staff, beautiful beaches without a multistorey development or beach vendor in sight :-). The resort give you heaps of info and were wonderful about questions so read the fine print as they are very clear about what style of resort the Golden Buddha is. We loved it"

The Cabochon Hotel: "See you soon! Cabochon"

Review by: mulberryeggy | Source: Trip Advisor
"10 years ago I have stayed in the hotel run by the same owner as Cabochon's and it was an unforgettable experience, that's why after 10 years, I decided to spend a night here at Cabochon and hoped it was as great as the previous one, and it didn't disappoint. To me, people in the hotel are important, cause they are the ones who make you feel welcome and home, and staff at Cabochon is definitely warm and lovely, always having smiles on their cute faces. The hotel is undoubtedly beautiful, you really have to appreciate the owner's taste, I feel like a princess when staying in the room with all the antiques and retro vibe. The restaurant ""Thai Lao Yeh"" in the hotel serves good Thai food, too. My local friend who dined with us said it is authentic and delicious. With all the above mentioned, what's not to love about Cabochon? I hope next time I don't have to wait 10 years to go back, see you really soon, Cabochon. Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Surreal floating paradise"

Review by: Melly_web | Source: Trip Advisor
"From the first second you round the bend on the boat and 4 Rivers Floating Lodge comes into view, you know you are in for something special! You meet the boat in Tatai and it is a short and tranquil trip to the lodge. Once there you are warmly welcomed by Adonis and a cool drink. There are only 12 tents, 6 on each side of the restaurant area, so it is always peaceful and relaxed. The tents are amazing! I have stayed in many hotels which are no where near as amazing as this! You have your own patio area with a ladder directly into the river. The river it's self is clean and deep, perfect for swimming. The current was not too strong. They have kayak's and tubes if you want to go for a paddle or float. We stayed here for 6 nights and there is plenty to do whether you want to relax or take excursions. (...) There are books available to read and DVD's if you feel like kicking back with a movie in your room. There is no WIFI here, but seriously, you won't miss it! I highly recommend the sunset cruise! The staff at the lodge are amazing, they are always happy to help with anything and are always happy and smiling. We would really like to thank Adonis and all the staff for such a magical stay."

MAISONS WAT KOR: "Relax and enjoy"

Review by: travellersalways | Source: tripadvisor.com
Spacious Cambodian style rooms with excellent amenities set in lush tropical gardens. Staff could not have been more helpful. A little out of town, but no problems with arranging transport. Nice pool. Good breakfast. Nice to sit out on the balcony of the room and enjoy the setting.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Amazing"

Review by: Carol L | Source: Trip Advisor
"I can't say enough about this hotel! We booked at 4 Rivers on the recommendation of some friends who had visited the area and had seen the hotel from a far. It really is a one of a kind experience. Here are the highlights: - The food was gourmet (and we are food snobs...), including the lunches packed for day excursions. There is also good wine list. - The staff were all incredibly courteous and went out of their way to ensure everyone was having a good time. Adonis, the manager, really seems to have pulled together a great team. - Our lead guide Rambo (his nickname!) gave good advice on the tours and made the days very fun. Definitely take the trip to the waterfall, and try the sunset cruise too. - The pre-dinner firefly viewing was very cool - The tents themselves are really special. They are very spacious, and the fans in the room kept the temperature just right for sleeping. Having a ladder right of the deck made swimming super easy and we were in and out of the water all the time. - Watching the sky change colours every night was an activity unto itself. - The lodge arranged our transportation to/from, and it was very professional and reasonably priced. Overall I would say it was excellent value for the money. We were there for 3 nights and i would say that was the perfect amount of time. Definitely stay there if you have a chance!"

Reverie Siam: "Out of this world experience"

Review by: ThaiTour | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We are so glad we booked that place. It was a family reunion and we couldn't have wished for more. It is not only the place itself which is just amazing but the staff as well whom are all so genuinely friendly and warm. Everything was perfect from the time we checked in until out and this memories will last for long. Spoil yourself and book the villas, they are just simply perfect. Thanks, keep up the great work and see you soon again !"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Perfection"

Quiet, relaxed, pampered, healthy and delicious food. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. Wonderful little touches such as flowers on the beds and towels. Always flowers in charming stone basins around the property. Service was superb. Morning yoga jumpstarted my home practice. Perfect get away!
