Villa Song Saigon: "Thank god we stayed at this hotel in HCMC"

Review by: Aabeach | Source: tripadvisor.com
I am so glad we stayed in this hotel. We said it about 5 times a day how happy we were that we chose this hotel. HCMC is a big dirty busy city and this hotel is a little haven in HCMC. The other hotels we walked into in the city were very old and tired and i didnt see one I would have preferred to have stayed in. If we had stayed in town as our final stop of a fantastic holiday we would have been very very disappointed. It is a beautiful hotel, everything is brand new. Our bedroom was a standard bedroom and was very big with a very big shower. The pool is so relaxing. The only thing we were worried about was this hotel is in District 2 however it didn't matter as we caught the speed boat into town when we wanted and they gave us a mobile phone to call when we needed to be picked up - it is a 10 min boat road and very relaxing trip. I would stay here again and again and would not bother looking at hotels in HCMC D1. When you get off the speed boat the city is right there so that is not a problem either. My only complaint of this hotel is the service is not spot on and needs polishing. We constantly had to wave the waiters over for drinks and when we were at the pool they were nowhere to be seen (there is a bell to ring but they are slow to come) however this would not deter me from staying here again.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Enchanting and Nostalgic Tea Estate with Majestic Views"

Review by: zigeumac | Source: Trip Advisor
I had been trying to come to Glenburn for over 10 years and was afraid it would disappoint. It exceeded our expectations! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the entire estate has an old-world feel to it. It is situated in a majestic valley with views of Kanchenjunga. We took lovely walks each day. I especially appreciated the customer service and attention to detail. We had tea upon demand and amazing food. The prices might seem high, but considering that everything is included (food, excursions, transportation to/from the Bagdogra airport, etc.) the prices seem fair. I really loved the tea tour and thank Parveen (and Ranjan) for sharing their knowledge and making our stay so special. I also enjoyed meeting the other guests and having meals together -- it was a unique experience and we got to know many people on top of their game in different fields. We stayed four nights, which was ideal. I would love to return and highly recommend Glenburn Tea Estate for anyone looking for a picturesque getaway!

Maison Polanka: "Amazing!!!"

Review by: mmcbattin | Source: Trip Advisor
My husband and I recently stayed at Maison Polanka for our honeymoon. From he moment we arrived we were blown away! The staff was unbelievable! They we were warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The hotel property is beautiful and the room was very clean and cozy. Breakfast was delicious! We also had dinner at the hotel a few nights and the food was superb! We were sad to leave this special place and can't wait to return.

Chakrabongse Villas: "A small green exotic oasis of calm, beauty and exclusivity"

Review by: chezcrabenrose | Source: Trip Advisor
"Chakrabongse Villas is very different to your everyday boutique hotel. I have been a guest at Chakrabongse for 12 years on at least 40 occasions. Here your privacy is respected and preserved and you do not have to deal with the typical petty tourists that you find in all the large hotels. You will hardly ever see another guest since they all have their own villa and outside area. Strangers are not permitted to enter the grounds and wander around. The staff are invisible until you need or want them. The outside world of hustle and bustle stops at the gate and you enter a small green exotic oasis of calm, beauty and exclusivity. Room Tip: Every villa is beautifully themed and decorated with art and antiques."

Chakrabongse Villas: "Romantic getaway"

Review by: MichaelPhuket | Source: Trip Advisor
"Secluded behind a nondescript door lay the ancient palace grounds of Chakrabongse. Once you step inside you are out of the beaten tourist paths of the surrounding Grand Place and nearby temples. Each of the 6 unique ""rooms"" has its special features. Our Thai house overlooked the main courtyard leading to the river. A lot of space and a generous balcony added to the feeling of your own private residence. The meticulously trimmed gardens and the pool next to the river make this place an oasis. Restaurant facilities are limited though. You are served a set Thai dinner that is generous in portions but leaves no choices or alterations. The wine list is also limited but is designed to compliment the food. Last service is at 8pm. The staff (in our case singular) had troubles to keep up with service. I would recommend this place for a luxury weekend but there might be better food options outside."

Dewakan: "Fine Dinning"

Review by: Lian Tiong G | Source: Trip Advisor
My children organized a birthday dinner for me at the Dekawan restaurant located at the KDU campus in Glenmarie. A real fine dinning with special attention to details as every course is explained before we eat. A quiet and nice place. We enjoyed our dinner and had a good family gathering.

The Apsara Rive Droite: "Great hospitality, nice and cozy place"

Review by: wasit l | Source: Trip Advisor
Just got back from a 3-night visit in Luang phrabang. Stay here is fantastic. The place is very relaxed and cozy. Nice experience to ride a boat to downtown. The staff is great, especially Hann (GM) Who has excellent service-minded. I would love to go there again as the escape weekend.

Tugu Malang: "Wonderful stay in a slightly eccentric hotel"

Review by: ozone_warrior | Source: Trip Advisor
"What an experience!! This hotel was perfect, get the best room you can afford - it is so worth it. The hotel is an attraction in its own right, make sure you take the tour to see the VIP suites and function rooms., the bizarre collection of furniture and nick nacks courtesy of the owners. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and all of the trips we took originated from their suggestions and with their help. The piece de resistance is the full day tour to Mt Bromo with waterfall included, organised and accompanied by front desk staff (amazing). Malang itself is a wonderful indonesian city with first rate coffee shops, a great bird market and some lovely streets to walk down. PS(the free afternoon tea is a must)"

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Contemporary luxury in a historic mansion"

Review by: Sher Reen L | Source: Trip Advisor
"Checked into The (lovingly restored) Blue Mansion for a two-night stay in December 2016, my first visit despite having been past the building on previous trips to Penang. From the warm hospitality, comfortable beds, clean big rooms (lovely bathroom a big plus with me), antique furniture, breakfast in the courtyard to coming back to a dim sum basket of local 'kuih' (cakes / sweets) with a handwritten note every evening was a lovely touch - the whole experience was memorable and in my opinion, worth returning for. Pro tip: the hotel is conveniently located next to a food court serving local delights, and across Georgetown Wines for that cheeky vino or late night tapas - thank me later! The Mansion is also home to Indigo, a fine dining restaurant which I tried, enjoyed and highly recommend. For those wanting to learn about the mansion's history, guided tours by some very passionate locals run daily at 11.00am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm - definitely something to fit into your travel itinerary. All in all, a strong contender for a unique experience. Stayed December 2016, traveled with friends"

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Relax on the river, marvel at the mangroves, unwind in the waterfall"

Review by: etwickenham | Source: Trip Advisor
"We drove five hours from the vibrancy of Phnom Penh to the peace of Tatai and the 4 Rivers - polar opposites. With no wifi, we abandoned the outside world for three days and sank into the luxury and tranquility of this mini resort. With just 12 lodges, and a whole river to yourselves, there is no option but to relax and unwind. We kayaked, swam, had a go at stand up paddle and took a couple of good tours; one to kayak through the mangroves, and the other (my favourite) to visit the Tatai Waterfall. The food throughout was excellent. Service very attentive. You emerge refreshed and ready to take on the rest of your journey. Great to know that the project is working so hard as a force for good in the local area too."
