SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Way above the standard expected in Yangon"

Review by: mfranks911 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Felix and Lucia Eppiser have many years experience in the restaurant industry coming from a Michelin star background in Switzerland, on to Le Planteur also in Yangon and then time in Malaysia until they have settled again in Yangon. Seeds is a relatively newcomer on the fine dining scene here and there are some great menu options, we chose ""Lotus"". From the time we arrived till we left we were treated like very valued guests. Serve was impeccable and we had a vast array of appetisers before we even started. We had a table on the terrace and if we have one criticism we thought the lighting level not quite adequate (we also ate outside at Le Planteur where the lighting was better) but otherwise it was faultless. Excellent tasting menu using mostly local ingredients, great presentation, textures and flavours. Both Felix and Lucia spoke to us several times and we liked their approach to staff training. There is also a nice wine list, obviously well chosen, and a bottle of nice Alsace Riesling was $43 which was pretty reasonable. At a touch over $200 all in for the two of us, plus a small cash tip, it is obviously top end for Yangon but not for the likes of Western diners. I hope Seeds goes from strength to strength and if we are ever in Yangon again we will return, I agree if ever Michelin get there it is star quality."

Chakrabongse Villas: "A small hotel in beautiful gardens on the river"

Review by: cwb50 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I stayed in the river view villa for 3 nights during my Bangkok visit. The villa had everything I needed, it was a generous size with a separate lounge & study area, all beautifully appointed. The view of the busy Chao Phraya river with the passing barges, plentiful boats and ferries was a delight to watch. The famous Temple of the Dawn 1- Wat Arun is just opposite. The Villas lush gardens, water features and pool area were stunning. So calming after the hustle and bustle of the city. It is in a great location to explore the old city comprising the Grand Palace and Wat Po. The flower market is also walking distance as is Chinatown (a bit further). If shopping is more your style then it is only a few minutes walk to Pak Klong Talad Pier to catch a ferry to Central Pier where you can catch the BTS skytrain. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The managers (Atom in particular) were wonderful and arranged my airport transfers, made site seeing suggestions & eating recommendations."

Rachamankha: "Absolutely exquisite"

Arriving at this hotel is so peaceful and Tranquil. Loaded with beautiful antiques and an air of sophistication and luxury not experienced in other parts of Thailand. In the old city this is quintessential old world Asia.

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Waaaaay Beyond All Expectations"

Review by: ging b | Source: Trip Advisor
"I've been to many other countries in Asia and Europe and stayed in more expensive hotels but CFTM so far, is the best I've been to. The hotel itself is grand and absolutely beautiful with a most interesting and colorful history. The staff was wonderful and performed way beyond expectations. It was my birthday and I found a floral arrangement plus a birthday card when I returned to my hotel in the evening. Within minutes of my return to my room that day, a staff arrived bearing a birthday cake. Then I had problems with my wifi and within minutes, someone arrived with a portable broadband. I expressed admiration for the homemade jams, particularly a certain type and within half an hour a complimentary bottle arrived in my room. Incredibly Wow. Impressive. Awesomest. Everything about CFTM and it's staff is to be expressed in the superlatives. Ps. If you are looking for airconditioned reception, sterile looking hallways, stainless steel and chrome fittings, this is not the place for you. But if you are interested in history and culture, by all means, stay here please. Stayed March 2017, traveled solo"

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Exactly what I needed"

Review by: sasser868 | Source: Trip Advisor
"After a hectic week in KL a stay at the Blue mansion was just what I needed. It has a magic atmosphere as if you step back in time the grounds themselves are perfect and the room I stayed in was amazing (Liang room). It was calm and relaxed during the day and I had the pool mainly to myself. The breakfast was yummy and service was always very helpful and accomodating. I also recommend highly to dine at the restaurant upstairs Indigo the room is equisite and food superb. It is a place that is probably more suited to couples without kids as it has that sort of vibe, so if you want a romantic get away I recommend a stay. I would love to return again with my husband in tow. Stayed January 2017, traveled solo"

Tugu Bali: "A true gem"

Review by: Anni T | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed at this beautiful and unique hotel two nights and enjoyed every moment. There is much to see with it's great collection of art and well curated furniture. General feeling is very welcoming, easy going and effortless luxury. The room was really our kind of taste: eclectic furniture, natural and nice ocean view. Def coming back with better time!

Rachamankha: "Absolutely perfect"

Review by: cminchina | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is a beautiful, wonderful oasis. Every single detail has been thought through in this serene, beautiful place. It whispers luxury, but - as a welcome change - doesn't shout it. I want to package it all up, and take it home! We lived in China for many, many years, and being here felt like coming 'home', only better. The Rachamankha has the ambience of a very old Chinese courtyard home/hotel, but with the convenience of a new one. I thought it WAS old, but learned that it was built in only 2004! The ornamentation (spectacular screen doors, statuary in every courtyard) is all old, though. And stunningly beautiful. You will also see a smattering of gorgeous Thai antiques adorning the walls and public areas. Don't miss the library. Or the pool. Or the outdoor, covered 'lobby' lounge area. The only disappointing thing about this lovely spot is that you have to leave it to explore the many attractions of Chiang Mai. But they're all close, and you've got this oasis to return to at the end of your day. Oh, and (I almost forgot to mention, because it really goes without saying) the service is wonderful -- unobtrusive, attentive, and friendly. Sigh. We're checking out this morning..... Enjoy!"

Flower Island Resort: "Best Island in Philippines"

Review by: Monquiro | Source: Trip Advisor
"When you arrive to Flower Island you feel like you have arrived to heaven!! My husband and I booked 2 nights in late September but once we arrived we immediately decided to extend to 3 nights. Luckily we were the only guests on the island and the stuff upgraded our room to the golden one. The room was very comfortable and clean and the view is amazing!! The water is crystal clear and you can do a lot of activities like snorkeling and kayaking. The staff were amazing, all of them are very nice, kind and with good vibes! We did the tour for the pearl factory and it was very interesting to get familiar with the process; after the visit, we had a private picnic for us on beautiful island nearby. Finally the food was DELICIOUS, every meal was different from each other. Don't hesitate to reserve this place, we highly recommend it!! Thanks again to the staff that made our honeymoon unforgettable!!"

Maisons Wat Kor: "Our home away from home"

Review by: parsichick | Source: Trip Advisor
Discreetly tucked away from the town centre this was a peaceful oasis to retreat to after being out all day. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The rooms were comfortable scattered across 2 cambodian style wooden houses with large balconies on which to sip your evening beverages (ask for a room upstairs). A lovely pool to wash away the day's excursions. I would return in a heartbeat.
