Tugu Bali: "Delightful"
My family and I totally enjoyed our time at Hotel Tugu. Amazing entrance with a world class selection of Asian antiques. The rooms were amazing and the food and staff were all superb. Forget the traffic and congestion of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak and head to Cangguu. Their Japanese restaurant, JI, is a mustThe Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Unique & charming"
"Thanks to a recommendation from friends in Bangkok, we stayed at the Cabochon for 2 nights. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to avoid big hotels with corporate atmosphere. Cabochon is very quiet and peaceful. The location is very convenient, and we loved the unique atmosphere. Breakfast was really good. The pool is slightly old but would do the job for a few nights. The team is really dedicated to a great service. Thanks Cabochon"The Samar: " Fantastic place to stay and Go Around to See Temples and City Center"
"I definitely enjoyed my stay there,it is actually very convenient to go around,to visit temples, explore city center and have a walk around. It is a very quite place,a sanctuary to hide yourself. Perfect place for family. "SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "A great restaurant by the Inya Lake. Owner Lucia is a great host and fine dining expert."
Watch the Inya Lake sunset over drinks and fine dining later. Romantic setting with World Class Chef cuisine indoor or outdoor by the lawn & garden.Tugu Bali: "Bali Transcendent"
"This is a wonderful hotel. The Tugu brand is well known in Indonesia for its sense and mix of history, local culture and design. Not to mention excellent food and understated but attentive service. This property has those attributes in spades. The Tugu Bali is perfect for people that like luxury and privacy and interesting, crusty surroundings - at a reasonable price I might add. Don't even think about staying here if you are into 5 stars and chrome and marble and buffet restaurants and big gyms and concierges that can get you into Mozaic or the Oasis Beach Club bikini parties on short notice - because you will hate it here. It is located, by the way, in Canggu, which was a sleepy place when the hotel opened, but is now the hippest area in Bali. Being surrounded by hip has its disadvantages, but also advantages - for example, the Tugu is opposite the best bar in Bali (possibly in Indonesia) and just down the road from one of the world's best seafood restaurants. Fortunately, Tugu guests are immune to the disadvantages (hipster crowds, beach clubs, bad restaurants, noise). The rooms here are oases - I know this is a cliche in hotel-speak, but it happens to be true in this case. In our room here, we were beautifully cocooned and felt entirely isolated from the rest of the world in the best possible way. Our small private garden and plunge pool were green and perfect. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. And I have never have thought of a bathroom as being sexy until I saw our bathroom in room 109. The common areas are also lovely. Big and spectacular in the case of the wood-pavilion-ed lobby, small and cool in the case of the pool, expansive and comfortable in the case of the beach-side garden. The service is great - the way I like it at least. Unobtrusive, but ever present. Bali is an ecosystem with deep wells of cultural fascination and mystery. If you want to immerse yourself in this Bali for a few days (not the boring Bali of Nusa Dua, or the Bali of cheap clothes and cheap beer and self-conscious bistro restaurants in Kuta and Seminyak), but not travel all the way to the north or east of the island, the Tugu Hotel is about the best compromise I know"Manukan Island Resort: "10 idyllic days in paradise"
"Hillside villas: fantastic, bright, airy, separate bedroom and lounge, satellite tv incl movies, huge bathroom with waterfall tap over bath, good warm showers, lovely little touches like slippers, bathrobes, 2 complimentary waters, 2 cokes, and 2 sprites per day. For cheaper and no steps the beach suites are newly renovated, very nice, a couple of minutes walk from the private beach area, 5 minutes walk max from restaurant, view nice but is on edge of busy public beach. Wi-fi was assigned to each room and worked all the time for me. 27 rooms/villas total now. Beach: We stayed on private beach for 10 days - wow! Gorgeous, soft white sand and lovely warm sea, palm trees full of coconuts, views of the rainforest, sunsets, monitor lizard takes a nightly swim. The beach is cleaned immaculately daily. But the seabed does need to be cleaned more from odd bits of rubbish - we mentioned to Ben, the Manager, who is talking with Sabah Parks about it. It did NOT put us off sea swimming. Facilities: huge varied breakfast outside with fans, we had all meals outside with fans - perfect, even on the beach! 16 choices on the menu but Joey the chef made a different vegetarian menu for me every night, at a very good price, our maximum bills were 65MR pp for huge buffet , most meals were less than this, even with starters. We spent under £300 for the 10 nights on food and drink! A bargain. Alcohol expensive, as per Borneo. This is indicative of the personalised service at Manukan - everything is possible, just ask! Quiet bar, pool area very quiet but nice, small parties come for an evening meal from the mainland some nights. 3 piece acoustic & bass band serenade you every night too. Staff: EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. Friendly, not intrusive, really care about all the clients and their happiness. Small and informal with very high standards of cleanliness and service. Thank you Ben, Welther, Joey, Sabre, Frederick, Yazid, Shima, Jessica, the new Mazilla, Nora, the band,.... The monitor lizards are safe and lovely to watch, hardly any spiders at all, but we used lots of deet against the mosquitoes (not too bad) and sand flies. There are mosquito plug-ins in the villa and a coil is lit at the evening turn-down service so you can continue to sit on the balcony at night. Things to do: we went on a day trip to Kota Kinabalu to see the City Mosque and do some shopping in one of the malls. Management and reception will arrange a boat at a good price 65 mr pp return (£13) or you can use the public one, slightly cheaper. It is only 10 minutes. From Manukan - There are watersports - thankfully they go offshore so it is not noisy, the sea-walking looked amazing, trips to other islands, snorkelling trips (there are not many fish jsut off the beach in comparison to the Maldives but other guests said the 3 island trip was good for fish). Cafe and shop run independently too if you need, but Manukan also sells the necessities, toiletries, drinks, crisps, beer in their shop too. A longer stay, 10 nights, allowed us to really appreciate this island. We had been to Sepilok Sanctuaries and also Turtle island before and were glad to have such peace in magical surroundings. Our memories will last forever. Do not hesitate to ask questions. Jayne and Mark"The Village House: "Great stay away from the buzz"
"We stayed in April, trip with my mother. This hotel was a little further out but they were so great at helping to arrange transport and packages before we arrived: orang utans, bake national park etc. The hotel was small, simple, clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, but what was most surprising was the food! It was delicious, perfectly prepared. A walk along the beautiful, wild beach is also definitely recommended. Not a swimming, crystal clear waters beach, but wild and gorgeous. I would recommend for a quiet getaway in a great location!"Reverie Siam Pai: "Great stay – wonderful atmosphere"
"Stayed for four nights. Pai has changed a lot (compared with 2004), so we really like the quite location of this relaxing resort. Very helpful staff, good breakfast with a wonderful view and definitely enjoyed the music in the restaurant in the evening. And if you want to visit the center of Pai, don't worry, they have their own (electric) transport..."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "とても美しい"
"風水に基づいた設計だけあって、どこにいてもリラックスできました。 スタッフの皆さんがとても親切でした。 朝食も美味しい、フレッシュジュースはとても美味しかった 門に近い部屋だったので、お隣のフードコートの喧騒は聞こえてきませんでした。 飲食店やおみやげ店が近くにあります。"Villa Song Saigon: "Beautiful, a true gem in Saigon"
"Stayed here for 5 nights and its absolutely wonderful. Excellent friendly service. I would however warn guests to steer clear of room 101 or 102.... dreadful smell in room and low roof which I found difficult being claustrophobic. Loved the breakfast being available when it suits the customer! Would definitely return and stay here but not in the above rooms mentioned!!!"
