Heritage Suites Hotel: "7 nights with an attentive staff in a lovely property"
The hotel is a bit out of the way but a short tuk tuk ride you are in town. We stayed in the saffron suite. Lovely room, very large, great air conditioning. Staff is very kind and attentive. If you ask for anything they respond quickly. I was ill for a couple of days during my trip and they kept checking on me, asking my wife if I was getting better, bringing extra water to the room. My only complaint was the mattress was not very comfortable. Everything else was perfect.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Book in for Lunch and tour"
"we came for the tour only (not hotel guests) but saw the sign for a well priced lunch in the dining room. At 65rbs is was fabulous. Setting, history and fusion of Asian and western flavours on the menu. An unexpected delight in hot weather tourism. ring prior as hear it is popular with cruise boat patrons."Satri House: "Authentic Experience"
"Satri House delivers on its promise of being ""a historic destination, a unique design"". The original house was run as a hotel since 2002 and was extended in 2008 reflecting the original architecture. We stayed over Songkran for 4 nights and were warmly welcomed by Jacques Mury (General Manager) and Navinda Imbubpa (Guest Experience Manager). On arrival to the room, we were impressed by the handwritten welcome note from Jacques. Whilst it is true that the hotel is located close to a fairground (the source of techno music correctly referred to in the previous review), we understand that Luang Prabang is always tranquil and that the volume we experienced was limited to this New Year festival only. We reflected on the importance of a pre-visit study. Notwithstanding this, Satri House is an amazing hotel. The renovation mirrors the original house perfectly. The Satri House team is attentive and caring. Key takeaways: # the staff is incredibly warm and greet you with sincerity # the housekeeping and gardener teams are amazing # the breakfast is plentiful. We recommend the freshly made noodle soup # the restaurant is terrific. We ate in many restaurants during our visit and will review them separately. We found the quality of the food at the Satri House restaurant to be equal to our better dining experiences # we love the two pools. Whilst we agree that the main pool could do with more lounges, we note that there are additional lounges at the second pool # the hotel is not located in the centre of the (small) city of Luang Prabang. It is in fact a 15-20 min walk to the city centre. The hotel does provide complimentary lockable bicycles with baskets that will get you there in 5-8 minutes One suggestion is to resolve the positioning of the Google Maps location pin. I am confident that when return to Satri House outside of the New Year festival, we will rate our experience as excellent."Babe: "Food with a view"
"It seems that wherever one is in Kuala Lumpur the Petronas Towers are in sight none more so than at Babe. A spectacular view from the restaurant across the city includes these landmarks, lit up at night they make a stunning backstop. The food is an interesting take on tapas in a Japanese style, it works perfectly. Well balanced, subtle and elegant. The service is attentive and informative. We chose one of the desgustation menus and enjoyed one of the best evening's dining ever."Chakrabongse Villas: "A tranquil haven in the middle of Bangkok"
"We stayed for the last night of our Asia tour and wished we had booked for longer. The Villa is a beautiful place in lush tropical gardens on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Diner and breakfast were superb and you really cant beat the view from the dining terrace. The staff were super friendly, making it all in all a lovely end to our trip. I hope their literary weekend was a success as they were all very excited to be hosting it and opening their doors to the general public for the 1st time."Inle Princess Resort: "Blends with the natural landscape"
The hotel is well located and the rooms are all bungalows. Its a romantic setting just walking t o your room. Supplies are hard to get so the hotel is a bit rough around the edges, but that gives it some of its charm. The dinning room and bar are beautiful and the service very attentive. All of the burmese people are wonderful and friendly.Locavore: "Ecstatic"
"Never thought I'd have to go to Ubud to get the best culinary experience in my life. This restaurant ticks all the boxes for me. Phenomenal food using local ingredients, knowledgeable and friendly staff and a great ambiance. Seemingly endless appetisers, 7 courses with a pre-desert and 3 let's call them post deserts. I was in heaven! I especially liked the squid in black dish and the Bangkok Hitam (pork shoulder). We chose a beverage pairing with each course. These beverages were cleverly crafted cocktails. In my opinion they deserve a Nobel prize for cocktails for their cocktail with bacon! I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who is willing to have their tastebuds titillated. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance!"Villa Song Saigon: "Simply the best"
2nd year (4th visit) at the Villa Song Saigon and certainly won't be our last. Lovely hotel in a perfect location and the management, Yega Miss Thuy, and Kevin, together with their ever smiling staff, go out their way to make your stay memorable. We have visited many countries but overall the Villa Song is our favourite hotel. Already planning our return.Rahai’i Pangun: "WOW Borneo tour was fabulous!!!! Well organized and lots of fun"
I really enjoyed the tour in central Borneo with Gayle of WOW Borneo. We traveled by boat on a large river and toured lakes off the river by canoe. We saw orangutans and monkeys butterflies and unique plants. We traveled to remote lakes tea stained from the ancient forest in the late afternoon the reflections were breathtaking. The food was delicious and accommodation very adequate and clean for being in such a remote place. We toured villages that did not have tourists visit on a regular basis and were welcomed with the biggest smiles. The tour was 5 days and we covered a lot of ground a great experience for the adventure seeker attempting to be Behr Grils.Arumdalu: "Best way to reconnect with nature, Arumdalu is your gateway to get-away"
"Arumdalu is the best place to get a little getaway from your hustle and bustles in daily life. This is the ultimate destination to connect with the nature, enjoy the calm beach, catch the sunset, and to touch base with the unexplored. Sahang Beachfront, their in-house restaurant is one of the best restaurant on earth, where they serve delicious fusion culinary using their natural and organic ingredients. Overall, Arumdalu Private Resort Belitung is a must-visit place in your lifetime, it will be much worth it. Stayed March 2017, traveled on business"
