The transfer to and the welcoming on the island were absolutely amazing. It felt like a VIP treatment thanks to Brian and Ben! The rooms were newly refurbished and were so beautiful and cosy. It's true that there are a lot of daytrippers on the island but it never really bothered me and after 4:30 it gets really nice and quiet. "This is a small hotel right on the river. It's nestled among trees which does mean the inevitable wildlife around you (although we didn't see mosquitos!). The room we had was huge and wonderfully well equipped. The terrace area was comfortable and peaceful. The staff were very helpful and friendly (not always visible but never very far away). We traveled through 12 time zones for our second two week stay at this wonderful place and found it even better than our last trip. Why? The food, accommodation, daily yoga, beach walking for miles, warm ocean swimming, spectacular sunsets and friendly/accommodating staff set the stage for a truly magical experience of total relaxation and joy. "You have to go to believe how unique it is . The speed boat to downtown Saigon was the icing on the gateau. We arrived mid morning and were offered complimentary breakfast . Our rooms were most exciting . I shall never forget Villa Song . "Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "An incredibly magical stay in George Town!"
When I came across the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion I knew that it would be a special place, however, it completely exceeded my expectations! There is really no place like it in George Town and even the world. This carefully restored historic mansion helps evoke the history of the city, it has beautiful antiques and family heirlooms, making you feel like your a guest of Mr Cheog Fatt Tze himself. Rooms are very spacious, include top quality luxury fittings and are all unique. There's also an excellent restaurant which I'd recommend for their great value lunch menu or for a romantic dinner. The pool was an added bonus, considering it can get hot in George Town! I hope to be able to return to this fabulous hotel!Mie Cafe: "Excellent fashionable fusion cuisine"
Great food with creative and exciting dishes sophisticatedly presented. Perfect if you are fed up with 100% authentic Cambobian food and want to spice it up a bit. "It was a really special experience to stay at this restored turn-of-the-previous-century mansion. There's not a lot more to write about its significance as a building, or the amazing history within its walls that other reviewers have not mentioned, so I'll concentrate on the rooms. Not only is the building an exquisite example of heritage conservation at its finest, the boutique hotel they've managed to operate in this amazing building is tasteful and thoughtfully executed. Comfortable but traditionally designed, the rooms are a true oasis after a day of walking around George Town. Breakfast service was prompt and friendly. The food, while actually not as exciting as the true street fare Penang is famous for, was top quality. Lovely staff, one helped me out big time by lending me a wifi dongle they had for the duration of my stay. I stayed at CFZ Mansion for two nights and I hope that the next time I return, I will be able to stay longer . Stayed December 2016, traveled solo"The Cabochon Hotel: "Very good hotel"
This hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We've stayed 2 nights in Bangkok, we'd definitely come back to Cabochon. Amazing building and unique interior, very clean, good breakfast, great location; all details are perfect. Definitely recommend to stay in this hotel!
