The Island Lodge: "Boutique hotel heaven"
This is the most amazing place you could visit. Lodge is a must stay if your visiting the Mekong, it is exquisitely appointed the rooms are a delight, the hosts are a joy. I could not fault this place in any fashion.Villa Mathis: "GEM IN PARADISE"
Everything from team reception, through spa trials, surounding gardens, restaurants, was a dream. Coctails weere impressive and delicious, food once for lunch and onece for dinner was outstanding. The decoration is amazing and comfortable, very cozy at same time. Pity being on biz trip that I dint have much more time to enjoy full relaxation apart from a candle treatment which was very cool and efficiently relaxing at the spa. I'll be backDewakan: "Premium quality and services with affordable price"
Came with partner to celebrate my birthday. Very quiet restaurant with limited space - no other diners except for us. Food taste are hit and a little misses. Was not impressed with the appetizers at first, but when the 2nd main came, it was a game changer, albeit a little over seasoned for us. Ends with very delicious desserts. Some may say, good things comes to those who waits. The restaurant manager and his partner has done a very good job explaining the dishes to us. Fully satisfied with their services. Premium quality and services with affordable price.NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Grrrreat"
"Went with our friends who had been three years ago and they couldn't get over how much the camp had improved. We were there for two nights and everything worked like clockwork. There is a learning curve relating to keeping the tent free of mozzies but that seemed to largely work. There is an outside flush toilet for each tent together with a separate shower room. You will need to let the staff know if you want a warm or cold shower and they will fill the container appropriately! Worked OK. The vehicles take 6 people together with driver and ranger and there is a cold box with beers, soft drinks and water. When we arrived, we had lunch and then headed off to the relevant section of Yala NP. On our return, shower, change, drinks and dinner. Early morning call at 4:15am and there's time for tea or coffee plus biscuit or fruit before heading off for the morning safari and then have breakfast/lunch on the return. We really enjoyed the safari experience. Very efficient with each element having been carefully considered and the process operated seamlessly. Other than not seeing a leopard (my wife did although she had the benefit of binoculars and Saj had informed her where to aim them!) we all had a great experience. Saj took us to the reservoir in Zone 5 and we had some fun at the fish feeding frenzy with simple biscuits! Our other guide was Praneeth and he, like Saj, was very knowledgable and interesting. Saj is multi talented — not only relating to wildlife and nature but photography and astronomy! The night we were there was when Jupiter was close to earth and Saj set up his BIG telephoto lens on his camera and took a picture which showed the four moons! Something I hadn't expected! "Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Perfection"
Quiet, relaxed, pampered, healthy and delicious food. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. Wonderful little touches such as flowers on the beds and towels. Always flowers in charming stone basins around the property. Service was superb. Morning yoga jumpstarted my home practice. Perfect get away!Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Best meal I’ve ever had"
I'm telling you what I told my wife when we were there - "this meal is the best meal I've ever had". Also, the price is very reasonable relative to the quality of the food and cocktails. Definitely a great choice for a classy (relative for Siem reap) dinner!Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Do not miss out on this one"
"If you're planning your trip to SL then you MUST include 2 nights at Noel's Leopard Safari! Everything about the trip was fantastic! We had an ongoing joke during our safaris that the guides have called the animals in advance to tell them we were coming. Everytime we said ""It would be cool to see .... (insert animal here)"" they just miraculously appeared! It was quite mental actually. Leopard and jackal and sloth bear and monkeys and elephants and tons of birds and crocodiles and and and! The park is beautiful and the guides Say and Praneeth are so enthusiastic and they know everything about the wildlife and flora. It's really great to be with guides that clearly love what they are doing and have such great respect for our beautiful nature. The camp is luxury camping to say the least. We had the AC tent, hot water, plenty of plug points. They even have good internet connection at the lounge area. Pretty impressive for a camp in the middle of nowhere. Even the bugs were blissfully sparse when we were there. Heads up that this is seasonal off course. The experience was worth every penny!"MesaStila: "One night stay, beautiful srroundings, will return"
"The resort is set in beautifully landscaped grounds with views of volcanoes in every direction. They also have a small coffee plantation onsite and the coffee itself is only available in the hotel. Rooms were huge and nicely fitted out. Would loved to have stayed longer, but was following a tight itinerary through central and eastern Java. Will return for sure. "Locavore: "Another amazing culinary experience in the best restaurant in Bali"
I had another amazing meal, 7 courses, with loads and loads of surprising, creative, interesting and very tasty morsels both at the beginning of the meal and around the dessert course. Presentation is a marvel. As usual I had the "carnivore option," but my two friends opted for the "plant-based option." All of us were pleased beyond expectations. I love oak-otak and Locavore's version, with the duck egg aioli (I guess that is what I would call it) was perhaps the star of my meal, though the old favorite--Into the Sawah--of course was delicious. The special Locavore tomato "soup" was, as always, spectacular. And i love the "freebie" cassava roti too. All seven courses were. My friends raved about their veg tasting menu. And I must admit I was a bit disappointed that I did not choice to have the Banana Blossom. This must become, like Into the Sawah, a main stay of the Locavore team. Service was super friendly and professional. Cannot recommend Locavore highly enough.Maduzi Hotel: "Amazing"
I stayed 3 nights at the Maduzi hotel and it was an incredible experience. The silk sheets are unlike anything I have ever slept on and alone are worth staying here. Bangkok is always steamy hot and the AC cooled the sheets making the room all the more appealing after a day in the sun. The hotel is conveniently located to the train and abundant restaurants and pubs (though the restaurant serves fantastic food so if you're tired there's absolutely no need to venture out). The Maduzi is the quintessential boutique hotel with a staff that is unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The mini-bar is free and plentiful water is provided upon request. I would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to returning to the Maduzi. PS - if you need anything during your stay Nui is THE MAN.
