Glenburn Tea Estate: "An oasis in beautiful landscape"
"We stayed 4 nights here and felt this was just about right. 2 nights is just not enough for the journey in and out which is yes long and yes bumpy.. but it is an adventure.. and to be honest after reading about the road I was slightly worried. In our opinion it is not as bad as its made out to be. If you want to get away from it all and off the beaten track you have to put in some effort. Will, Faye and the team were great with exceptional levels of service given at every moment. If you like the ski chalet concept you will love Glenburn. This is a ski chalet in the foothills of the Himalayas. There is a wide variety of activity and plenty of time just to relax if you want to. One tip take good walking shoes to really enjoy the treks available. Rooms are big, unique and lovely. You could put on pounds if you ate all the food. There was plenty of it and at all times of the day. Bed tea in the mornings was a real treat. WiFi was weak but leave it behind and put it away is our best advice. We did and were so refreshed by doing so. All in all a really lovely place to stay."David’s Kitchen: "King David"
David, The first of many best parts of our visit was your warm greeting. Hospitality at its finest. Then the delectable dishes of magnificently presented food. as a good as it gets. Please come to Chicago & make that pumpkin soup. Each course surpassed the next. I too would partner for life with a woman who could create that chocolate mousse. Kudos to your staff. The grand finale, a man proposed to a woman on Chinese Valentines Day. Cue the applause & thank god she said yes.Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "The Perfect Retreat"
"The journey from Kuraburi pier on the long tail boat to the island is itself a wonderful trip passing local fishing boats and small islands with breathtaking views puts you at ease for what is to come. You will not be disappointed.Arriving at the Island and stepping into the warm clear blue water to be greeted by Pena the resort manageress with a traditional Thai greeting and beaming smile is an indication of what Golden Buddha is about. We stayed at 2 of the houses and loved both Baan Sparks house for the first 3 nights (...) Activities were available with Brennan the naturist who was so passionate and knowledgeable that you immersed yourself with the nature of the Island and on top of that if Yoga was your thing or not then a lesson with Alex the Yoga master was not to be missed.A trip to Kuraburi market on the speedboat with Brennan and Nika who introduced you to the local cuisine and it gave you time to do a little shopping is well worth doing. All the staff are wonderful and helpful. It's a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the views and as it is not overly populated it gives you the feeling of your own private Island in Paradise."Tugu Lombok: "Paradise"
"This was our second visit to Tugu and it will not be the last, a really quirky set of rooms and villas are really interesting and well laid out. Pools are fantastic and the beautiful white sand beach is just wonderful. Hotel restaurants are wonderful and food is both well presented and extremely tasty with a fantastic local focus on the menu. Spa is very good with the local massage being our personal favourite, very good value. Our only gripe about this hotel is that there is no ATM machine available so I was unable to tip the wonderful staff what they actually deserved instead of what I had in my wallet, as always the welcome you get in any hotel is reliant on the team that are there to look after you and as previously the team at Tugu shone. Thank you for another wonderful stay and we will see you again soon. Mark + Myra"Muang La Resort: "Fantastic!"
"We stayed a few days in this quiet, comfortable, very well located resort. The food is absolutely delicious and very well presented. The staff cordial, efficient and knowledgeable. The resort offers spa with massage, etc. very excellent. And having the hot springs nearby is a plus that I very much enjoyed. Mixing with the locals in this way is a wonderful way to have a taste of the local culture. The managers, two young but very welcoming and available. An experience not to be missed. Highly recommend, and would love to go back there and enjoy more of the surroundings, doing some of the activities that are available. Beautiful surroundings."The Village House: "Hidden Gem"
"Being a local, coming here felt like an 'easy escape.' Not much travelling needed but gives every good feeling a getaway would. Room is clean, tastefully decorated. The place felt very private which is perfect for if you want to 'escape' from people and just have a me time with yourself and your partner. Food is decent but don't expect much. However, having a quiet dinner by the pool and a rustic wooden decorated place helps a lot in adding the 'taste' to the food - in a good way. There isn't really much to do there - but that's what getaway are all about - you really just want to spent time in the room, doing nothing. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Stayed May 2016, traveled as a couple"Talabgaon Castle: "Very beautiful resort, amazing hospitality overall an awesome experience"
This place is just fab, very well maintained heritage castle. The property is beautiful and takes you back to the royal living. Hospitality of the staff is just amazing. Mr. Harminder Singh's hospitality was just out of the world. Meals were authentic Rajasthani cuisine, made with lot of love and served with even more love :-) Overall me and my family had a wonderful experience which we will never forget. Hope to visit this awesome place again!!The Village House: "Relaxing and Beautiful, Great Food and Friendly Staff"
Our experience at Village House was excellent. The guesthouse has been carefully planned and attention paid to every detail. It is very beautiful and comfortable. The food here was way above expectations - delicious and fresh and a great mix of local as well as western food. Surprisingly they had a very good selection of wines. We did try the Pina Colodas by Miss Flora (we had read about them on Trip Advisor) and yes, she does a great job! But the highlight of the trip was the sweet and accomodating staff. They did everything possible to make our stay as relaxing and stress free as possible. My family and I would like to thank them all. You should not miss the chance to stay at Village House!Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Amazing food and service"
The chef was amazing, very personable and greeted all his guests. The food was amazing and we tried both menus. I have to follow a gluten free diet and the chef made sure that some elements were changed for me. However, saying that there was very little on the menu I couldn't eat. Very fresh tasting food and good value. The service was amazing and we had a very relaxed meal. Will definitely be visiting again,Nimmu House: "Paradise in Ladakh"
"I stayed in Nimmu House during a trip in Ladakh organised with a group when we had to go trekking. We stayed in Nimmu before and after our trek. This place was so peaceful and it was the perfect place to have a little rest. We stayed inside the tent in the garden which are just amazing and cosy with all facilities and much more than what you could expect after trekking in Ladakh. The inside of the house is also very special and has his own story which is quite interesting. At night, we enjoyed the bonfire and nice drinks outside all together. Food is very wonderful thanks to Maya and menu is different everyday. We had Chocolate Mouss, Chocolate Pie and also Lemon Pie which is so nice French people The atmosphere is very friendly in Nimmu house :) Manon, her husband and Audrey take good care of their customer and are always available to discuss with you about any enquiries you have regarding the services, the house or any kind of thing. I really like to thank all of them for this wonderful stay in Nimmu which was so special for me as it was my birthday and they made it so nice for me :)"
