David’s Kitchen: "Best Restaurant on Trip To Thailand"
"I recently visited Davids Kitchen on my honeymoon to Thailand. My husband and I came in with high expectations given the incredibly positive reviews. It was the most fantastic dining experience I can remember - I wish I could give it more than five stars. The host, Tea, was chatty and delightful as we waited for our table. He ensured that the table was customized for our arrival with personalized flower decor for our honeymoon celebration (and a bouquet for me upon departure). The staff was incredibly attentive throughout the evening. The chef came by before we left for feedback on the meal (which was superb so we could only lavish him with praise). Davids Kitchen was a highlight of our trip to Thailand and certainly a highlight of our time spent in Chiang Mai. I cannot recommend strongly enough for a truly special (and delicious) evening."Tugu Lombok: "Amazing location, great staff and stunning beaches"
"After an amazing week in Bali my wife and I flew to Lombok and made our way to Hotel Tugu with high expectations, and boy did it deliver! The amazing location, friendly staff and stunning beaches were the epitome of paradise. It has to be one of the most calming places I have ever visited. As it was our honeymoon we splashed out on a Bhagavat Villa which was the icing on the cake. An enormous villa with an outdoor bathroom, private pool and direct access to the beach. It also had the biggest bed I've ever seen! It truly is a stunning hotel with excellent staff and gets a 10/10 from me and the Mrs. Tip #1 - It's a long drive form the airport to Hotel Tugu. Rather than taking our chances on a local taxi company we contacted the hotel prior to our arrival and arranged a taxi directly with them. It was a really nice car, the driver spoke English and it helped us to relax from the moment we stepped off the pane. Tip #2 - The next hotel we stayed at was on Gili Trawangan. The hotel arranged a boat transfer directly from the beach (right outside our room) to Gili T. What a way to say goodbye!"Flower Island Resort: "Excelente!!"
"There’s only one downside - a very rough road to get to it. However, it’s only the final 30 minutes of the trip and trust me, it’s worth it! Large, clean and very comfortable bedrooms, amazing views of the hills of Darjeeling, the tea estates and the snow-capped Himalayas, quality breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner and, in between relaxing, some great things to do. A walk down to the river or up to a viewpoint led to cold towels and drinks, followed by amazing picnics. There are cars to take you everywhere if you don’t want to walk. Highlight for us was spending time with the lovely Nilima, a local guide, who was knowledgeable, happy to talk about her life and the local community, and great company as well. Highly recommended."The Cabochon Hotel: "Boutique hotel in the middle of Bangkok"
Bangkok is filled with excellent five star international hotels. Here's something completely different. Small, boutique tucked away in a small Soi off Sukhumvit. The service levels are warm friendly with a touch of classic Thai friendliness. The hotel is only 5 years old but has been created for yesteryear. Food is lovely and the atmosphere unique.Maisons Wat Kor: "Lovely Small Hotel set in Lush Tropical Garden"
"Hotel Wat Maisons is made up of three Khmer style houses with 12 bedrooms, set in grounds of lush tropical vegetation. The rooms are lovely and old-fashioned with dark wood furniture and feel very comfortable. The swimming pool is a good size and due to the small size of the hotel we had it to ourselves most of the time. There are comfortable sunbeds to lie on and admire the banana and frangipani trees. The restaurant has wifi but otherwise fits with the traditional colonial style. Dinner is a set menu each night, although the kitchen will serve western style dishes for those who do not want Khmer style cooking. The set menu we had consisted of five courses, was absolutely delicious and we felt it good value for $12 per head. The staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The hotel has a laid back style and, in keeping with this, breakfast is a leisurely affair - make sure you allow plenty of time before you are due to leave. All in all, this was a special place to stay and we really enjoyed our two nights here."Reverie Siam: "One of my favourite hotels of all time"
"Stayed three nights in a villa and absolutely loved it. The grounds are beautifully manicured and the entire resort is just so peaceful. The riverside bar is stunning and serene, and the cocktails and wine list are excellent and well priced. The villa was lovely, done in a colonial style with a private outdoor patio, bathroom with glass ceiling and walls and a large jacuzzi, comfortable beds with high quality linen, to and DVD player, and basically anything else you could need. Staff were friendly and efficient. The included breakfast was of a very high standard and you could choose two meals cooked to order each morning. There is a free tuk tuk into town on demand which was useful for going in for the night markets etc. Despite being the most expensive place in town, it is not expensive by western standards and represents very good value. My only suggestions for improvement would be to allow food by the pool, and perhaps to even develop a poolside snack menu, so that people can enjoy some fries or another snack by the pool with their beers and cocktails! Also the food at the restaurant, whilst delicious, often came at different times to my dining partner whilst it should have been served together. These are minor points however and I would recommend this place to anyone, and will undoubtedly return next time I am in Thailand, as I have never found a resort as relaxing and peaceful as this before. Stayed February 2017"Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "Hidden Treasure in the heart of Sukhumvit"
Cabochon is hidden inside Soi 45. Once you reach there, it has a real peaceful and charming feel. The decor is exquisite with very fine attention to detail. They have a lovely bar and also a very tasty Northern style Thai restaurant. It is a definite place to visit for food, drinks or a relaxing night. I will definitely be back here! Until next time...Sanak Retreat Bali: "Paradise"
We spent (only) one night in this paradise. Everything is just perfect, and worth the price they ask for it. Compared to other hotel we stayed in, we were particularly impressed by the attention they put un every single detail (closing your curtains in the room while you are having dinner for instance :-)). We would recommend it.Rahai’i Pangun: "River cruise – Indonesia’s must see Orangutans"
My husband and I went on a 2 night / 3 day day river cruise and the river cruise was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Jeni was fantastic and the crew could not do enough to make our trip comfortable and memorable. The Orangutans in their natural environment were a delight to watch and what magnificent creatures they are. Such a shame what the ever expanding human population is doing to these magnificent great apes....but there seems to be hope for them which is heart warming and Wow Borneo is definitely the company to book this once in a lifetime adventure with. The boat is very comfortable, except for the cold shower brrr... and the food scrumptious.
