Neeleshwar Hermitage: "and RELAX"
"My wife and I stayed for 5 nights in Dec 2017. The location is beautiful and the atmosphere very relaxing. ACCOMMODATION - 5 stars. Very large comfortable beds. Natural products used in the furnishings/floor. BOSE sound dock a nice touch. Tea facilities would have been nice. Large airy rooms. Wi-Fi worked well, but could only get it in the room/veranda. I would have liked to have received it by the pool (not a big deal). POOL - The pool is the best we have ever been too (great sunset view). RESTAURANTS - We ate in both the main restaurant and seafood restaurant. The main restaurant is a beautiful large wooden structure, local in design. The food here was very good; however it did lack some atmosphere/ambience. Some soft chill out Indian lounge/retreat music would have been perfect, but no music at all, made the room feel quite big and empty. The seafood restaurant was in our opinion overpriced for what we received. My Tiger prawns (£16) were served rather bland and accompanied with broccoli and carrots (hardly the Indian cuisine experience I was hoping for). Beers/Wine prices are NOT shown on the menu and are EXPENSIVE so be warned. Not sure why there is no transparency with this (maybe it's a Kerala law). SERVICE/STAFF - Outstanding FACILITIES - We had the pleasure of going on a half day Spice Hill Plantation/Nature tour. We highly recommend doing this tour. Indian nature at its very best......A MUST DO !!! My wife committed herself to yoga every morning which she thoroughly enjoyed and also completed a TA meditation course, which she also thoroughly enjoyed, given by the founder of the establishment Alistair (very nice genuine man). GROUNDS - The gardens, pool and beach are all very well maintained and the location is perfect for unadulterated relaxation. The sea was warm and perfect to swim in. Don't miss the sunset !!! SUMMARY - In short the only thing we would change, would be to add some suitable music/ambience into the main restaurant, a bit more imagination with the cuisine in the fish restaurant and some transparency with the alcohol. Apart from that we thought the place was outstanding and we will have no hesitation in returning. It's a perfect place to unwind; but if you do decide to stay here, do yourself a favour and make the effort to venture out to experience the real India/Kerala."The Cabochon Hotel: "Great thai food in an amazing retro location"
"The restaurant is settled in a white house - hotel at the end of Soi 41. All menu is based on small portions (non as small as tapas but that allow you to try more dishes from menu, based on the isaan northern cuisine. Fish was very good and tender, we had a seabass and a squid, plus papaya salad (typical isaan) was amazing as well. beyond that we had some chicken in coconut milk, grilled chicken and vegetables. Prices are also fair enough to allow you to take more than one or two dishes per person. (160-400 thb depending on the ingredients)"Anopura: "A lovely escape"
My mother and I had one of the nicest stays of our trip to India here. The food is excellent. The staff are lovely and the location is peaceful. It was a nice break from the frenetic cities of Rajasthan. The accommodation is excellent. The decor is very tasteful. We regretted not being able to stay a second night. The staff are very well trained. They are helpful without being intrusive.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "5 star gourmet experience"
"This restaurant is listed as one of the top 50 Restaurants in Asia, and deservedly so. There are 2 menus per night available in 5 or 6 course variants. I went twice, on my first night in Siem Reap, and then again on my last night in Siem Reap. 6 courses each time and I would not hesitate to go back if I am in Siem Reap again. The menu is updated every 2 weeks. Delicious food but the surprise is the price. 28USD for 6 courses, and you do not leave hungry. The chef greets you at the end of your meal; a lovely touch."Rachamankha: "Absolutely perfect!"
"This is a beautiful, wonderful oasis. Every single detail has been thought through in this serene, beautiful place. It whispers luxury, but - as a welcome change - doesn't shout it. I want to package it all up, and take it home! We lived in China for many, many years, and being here felt like coming 'home', only better. The Rachamankha has the ambience of a very old Chinese courtyard home/hotel, but with the convenience of a new one. I thought it WAS old, but learned that it was built in only 2004! The ornamentation (spectacular screen doors, statuary in every courtyard) is all old, though. And stunningly beautiful. You will also see a smattering of gorgeous Thai antiques adorning the walls and public areas. Don't miss the library. Or the pool. Or the outdoor, covered 'lobby' lounge area. The only disappointing thing about this lovely spot is that you have to leave it to explore the many attractions of Chiang Mai. But they're all close, and you've got this oasis to return to at the end of your day. Oh, and (I almost forgot to mention, because it really goes without saying) the service is wonderful -- unobtrusive, attentive, and friendly. Sigh. We're checking out this morning..... Enjoy!"Mume: "Always amazing"
I've been a couple of times in this high level restaurant, the taste and the visual are extremely precise. I love it, a must do in TaipeiGolden Buddha Beach Resort: "Total relaxation (plenty to do if you want it?!) therapy for body and soul"
"From the moment I arrived, climbed out of the boat and waded ashore, I felt I had landed in some parallel universe. I was met, in the water!, by Massi (the general manager) who makes every effort to ensure your stay is everything you want it to be. The Baans are all different in size and style. I stayed in Tarntawan which is perfect for the solo traveller. The room has a comfortable bed with mosquito net, fridge/minibar and tea/coffee making facility. Housekeeping was very efficient and kept everything beautifully clean. The restaurant offers a great balance of casual yet elegant dining. Buffet style breakfast offers a good selection with a fabulous choice of beverages and green teas. There was generally plenty of choice for dinner - I am vegetarian and can honestly say I have never found it easier to eat well, with quality local dishes. I felt food and drinks - a great choice of juices, shakes and cocktails - were reasonably priced (wine is expensive but this is Thailand, not France!). The beaches are stunning, I walked the 10km stretch without seeing another person. The water is really warm and offers safe swimming. I snorkelled a few times but there's not a great deal to see. However, snorkelling trips are available to other islands. Yoga is available twice daily, I did the morning session. A big 'thank you' to Alex who I found to be a great teacher. This totally unspoilt island nurtures the wildlife which is fascinating - beautiful birds and butterflies, and monkeys doing their thing! I stayed for a little over 2 weeks and I loved every minute. My first week coincided with half term and there were a few small children ( it's a good destination for a young family). During the day I just never seemed to see them but they could be a bit much in the evening. You'd think that, with dinner being served until 9.00pm, the parents of infants would eat earlier and be more considerate to both the other guests and their own children! However, this was such a minor issue in the whole scheme of things. The massages are great, lovely at the end of the day. Everyday, I felt privileged just to be at Golden Buddha beach - it was all I could have wished for. A huge thank you to Massi and a great staff team. I can't recommend it highly enough. Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"The Island Lodge: "A bijou at the Mekong Delta"
Our stay at The Island Lodge was simply awesome. The food is great and the service is extremely polite and attentive. Michel has taken his time to personally talk to us and make guests feel welcome which is much appreciated and adds to the warm experience we had. The whole experience is rounded up with the nice swimming pool at the Mekong river and the Spa which invite to some relaxing moments.MesaStila: "Beautifull place, people, spa and service"
