VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Lovely hotel"
"Two nights after a long flight- excellent spa- fantastic views across the river - nice breakfasts and helpful staff. Shuttle water taxi works well and it's nice to return to relative calm at Villa Song. We would choose to stay here again and will recommend it to our friends. "Flower Island: "Stunning, paradise, Robinson Crusoe Island"
"For us this place was perfect. Absolute heaven. Its secluded, quiet, relaxing etc what more can you want? The resort is sympathetic to the environment and the staff are unobtrusive and get on with their job. I say this because I think you need to be aware of these things before booking. Because this is remote I don't think you should expect; Ultra high speed wifi, staff attending to your every need waiting on you hand on foot, luxury Egyptian cotton, etc.. This isn't that kind of place. If you want that go and find a faceless, corporate resort. Instead, check in, turn off your phone, put your swimming trunks on and relax..... The staff were super friendly, and I loved their level of service, approachable, friendly, nice etc... Not uptight in any way. (...) I liked the food, always a good variety - 5-6 pots from which you could help yourself and always plenty of it. Really enjoyed the Pearl Farm, trip a wander around the island and Amber the dog rocks !!!! (and i don't like dogs!!)"Tugu Malang: "I’ve never seen a place like this before.."
"I have never seen a hotel like this before. This place is literally a museum, the owner collects antiques from around the world (but mostly Javanese and Cina peranakan), makes the hotel breathes art deco, bohemian, middle east, Javanese, oriental, and Dutch colonial style. It's amazing they have so many collections like chairs from Soekarno's house, 2000+ year old Chinese sculpture, and many ancient Chinaware. Also worth to mentioned: Mata Hari's dancing portrait and a mysterious picture from the black and white Lolita movie. The service is excellent, the staff call me by name and never cease to amaze me by their warm hospitality. The tea time from 4-6 pm is worth to try. They provide Indonesian snacks with selections of tea and coffee. The front office staff are really really nice, they are very helpful and seems like all the staff enjoy what they're doing so the hospitality comes from the heart. Tips: *During the tea time, sit on the balcony to have a better view of the hundred years old giant tree at the hotel facade. *If you stay in the hotel, ask for a hotel tour. Mbak Poppy gave me a tour and she explained thoroughly and patiently about historical background in every item I asked. She also showed me the stunning Apsara suite. Unfortunately the Raden Saleh one was occupied on that day. Thank you, Mbak Poppy! Fun fact: All Indonesia's past and current presidents have been to this hotel."Mie Cafe: "One of our favorites in Siem Reap"
We had lunch three times at this wonderful restaurant. It was critiqued in an article by Lawrence Osborne at saver.com, and what a find it was. We loved the tuna tartare with mango, the stuffed ravioli, grilled eggplant with pork, the mango passionfruit sorbet, and a chocolate cake to die for. Also their iced lattes are delicious.Muang La Lodge: "Très beau petit hôtel en bordure d’un affluent du Mékong et de sources chaudes"
"Very nice small hotel (10 rooms) next to a tributary of the Mekong and hot springs pool and water (enough) hot for locals and hotel guests, 2 small private pools of hot water, 1 beautiful pool with private access to a river island with bars, etc. etc.! Do not miss the excursions in 4x4 in the beautiful mountain wilderness hosting different ethnic groups organized by the hotel with local English speaking guide! The entire staff except 2 Laotian manager. "Cuca: "Wow!"
A Michelin star must surely be on the way. The food is excellent and served up in a wonderfully playful way (one course came served on a flattened beer bottle!). Impeccable service too.Maduzi Hotel: "Excellent attention to detail"
Stayed here for 3 nights with my wife following a recommendation from a friend and really enjoyed the experience. The room was excellent value for money and very handy access to the nearby Asok BTS station. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Bangkok.David’s Kitchen: "Must try in Chiang Mai"
Davids Kitchen is located 15 mins drive from the old town, but it definitely worth a visit if you are in Chiang Mai and for special occasion. You would be amazed by the garden when you first arrive. The food is fantastic and staffs would give you great recommendation if you are not sure what to order. David was also in the restaurant and making sure every guest is enjoying the dinner. We also got a little sweet surprise at the end of the dinner. Would definitely come again.Rachamankha: "Rachamankha Chiang Mai — Perfect Hotel!"
Quaint, quiet, peaceful -- we arrived Christmas night (2017) and had dinner in the open-air/outdoor dining area. There was a beautiful, roaring fire (real fire, not gas!) and a duet playing Christmas songs. Could not have been a more perfect evening. This is a lovely hotel. Service and food was excellent! Located in the center of town -- perfect location.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Excellent! Just Excellent"
"I visited the Blue Mansion during one of the tour groups, and I was simply captivated by the rich story behind the building. Every single detail of the mansion was explained meticulously by the guides. I did the guided tour twice, and I was very impressed by the fact that the guides were genuinely passionate about the history of the building, as well as the history of George Town. I went back to the Blue Mansion for dinner at the restaurant upstairs. Again, I was impressed. the food was spectacular, the decor is kept minimal, so the natural beauty of the building can be appreciated. I particularly love that I get to have a drink at the balcony and stare at the beautiful sculptures up close! Definitely worth visiting. Again and again and again and again. Stayed September 2016, traveled with friends"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
