"From the moment we arrived we knew this was experience was going to be unique! the staff was more than fabulous and they truly made the difference here. The place has real magic around, our room had beautiful small details that we loved. We came to Bali to celebrate my birthday and they really made this experience wonderful. The food was delicious, the massage therapist were great, the tours and drivers were really nice and patient, the recommendations for places to visit and good restaurants as well. would definetly come back with my eyes closed. As a group of active teenagers graduating college, villa mathis was a nice retreat from our usual hustle and bustle. However when attempting to explore Bali, we found that villa mathis was a touch secluded, but this is not the blame of the villa at all. When we did explore, the staff would help arrange taxi's and suggest locations for any activity. "We stayed over new years, my wife, our two young kids, and myself. The villa was very nice and clean. The pool and grounds were great. Food is nice. But the main reason this trip out of many to Bali was great, was because of Chris and his staff. They went so far and beyond what is normal. We had so much going on at the time, and we asked and leveraged Chris for so much more than we normally do. He was great, patient and very accommodating. We keep returning because it is that good. Fine antiques throughout, inside and out. A gracious and attentive staff. They are extremely stealth and quiet. The theme is serenity and quiet. Soft jazz and classical music quietly plays in the background. A bouquet of two dozen fresh roses were in our room. Complimentry breakfast is served on fine bone china. "The 10 course dinner menu is well-crafted and each course successfully tickled different areas of our taste buds. The meal starts with 4 complimentary snacks, followed by 3 appetizers, 4 main courses, 3 desserts & ends with Malaysian-flavored ice pops. These are served over a 3-hour period, which is good timing for me personally - lots of time for good, long conversations! Love the fact that each course is infused with Malaysian flavors, bringing these local ingredients to another level. The restaurant atmosphere was quiet and service was impressive - they were quick to response to our needs. However, there are limited tables and they only entertain reservations made online (check out their website). This restaurant is located in KDU College, Glenmarie - may be quite a distance from KL but convenient for patrons from Shah Alam & Subang Jaya. Overall, we had an enjoyable evening. "環境優雅美麗，迴廊等公共空間很棒，可以和朋友們一起坐著聊天。布置擺設也很有巧思，仔細觀察處處都有驚喜，體驗住在舊式大宅院內的感覺。因為是老屋改建，電器、衛浴設備可能沒有同等級的新飯店完善 (例如房間內插頭的數量有點少且位置不利充電、浴是有點小)，但也能滿足絕大多數的需求。服務人員非常親切! 位置鬧中取靜，在安靜的小巷裡，但走出去就是大馬路。注意計程車司機常常會把這裡和附近另一間同名旅館搞混。 Very peaceful, beautiful hotel. I like the public areas in the hallway, it's comfortable to sit outside of the room and chat with friends. The hotel is rebuild on the base of an old Lanna manor, so some of the facilities (such as the number and position of sockets, or the small shower room) were not as modern as newly built hotels, but it was good enough. Located in a quiet alley, but just 2 min walk to reach the main street. (Be careful many taxi drivers may mistaken here with another Hotel Rachamanhka near by). Friendly staff. My boyfriend and I stayed at Tugu for two nights and loved the place. Excellent design and decor - very much authentic, stylish Balinese - with delicious Indonesian food, gorgeous cocktails and first class service. Some great views for the upstairs rooms, but go for the private pool villas downstairs or a room nearer the back of the hotel if you want total peace and quiet. All of the staff were absolutely lovely - so helpful and warm - and we loved the cooking course! Great pool too and lovely spa.
