Muang La Lodge: "Peaceful place with very accommodating staff"
"The staff, premises and rooms make this place wonderful. Staff is extremely accommodating and anticipates every need. You don't ever get ""no"" as an answer. The amount of effort the staff gives is unmatched, especially in such a remote location. Food is great not amazing. They gave me extra portions since I was a big eater which was very kind. The Of Rice and Men excursion was great w an amazing picnic lunch. For our other excursion, Mountain bikes were mediocre but good enough for our ride. Not trails but back dirt roads. We also selected to do a full day hike w a guide. The part we did was great but if you plan on doing a hike make sure you ask some questions and prepare accordingly. We weren't warned until last minute about the potential leeches that would inevitably crawl on us during a certain point in the hike. We ended up not getting that far anyway as we cut our long hike short when we reached an extremely steep area w loose gravel. Getting down would have been too difficult. We are fit and intermediate hikers and it wouldn't have been enjoyable. Overall the Muang La Lodge experience was great. The price is what it is, and I found myself wondering if I could have found a better deal for a similar experience in Laos. Make no mistake, you're definitely in some great hands at the lodge."Locavore: "One of the best in Ubud"
We had lunch at this restaurant and we had a wonderful experience, high quality food, very attentive staff and nice atmosphere. Haute cuisine without being too posh. The taste of some of the dishes was out of this would.Sanak Retreat Bali: "One of the most beautiful places I have stayed in"
"We chose to come to this area of Bali with our adult children hoping for some quiet and beautiful scenery- and that is exactly what we got. This beautiful resort offers exactly this in the way the resort has been designed among a backdrop of rice paddies and mountains. This place is absolutely stunning. I loved the way the doors opened out on all sides to let the breeze in. It is best to have a villa with a balcony to capture the views- both sunrise and sunset. The service was great from all staff. The meals were good. Pool wonderful. Highly recommend for adults...young children i feel could spoil the serenity for others."Supanniga Eating Room: "Best Thai food in Thailand!"
I realize my title is a bold claim. This is the food capital of the world, after all. (OK maybe NYC). But the passion for quality here is simply remarkable. The cabbage with fish sauce dish, for example, is so simple and yet mind-blowingly delicious. I believe this chef has another restaurant in BKK and one in NYC - both of which also get unbelievable reviews.Rachamankha: "Highly Recommended"
Very lovely and well run small boutique hotel. Enjoyable breakfast, comfortable pool and well located within old Chiangmai. Also, we had an online Agoda rate that made the quality/value ratio excellent ($160 all in).Satri House: "Best Place to Stay in Luang Prabang."
The Satri House was the place to stay even though it was much more expensive than other comparable hotels. The place was more a house than a hotel. In a way it went well with the town of Luang Prabang since two of them set the mood back by decades in time. Our group of four drove there in our SUV and spent two nights in Luang Prabang before heading back to Bangkok via Vang Vieng and Viengthein. Therefore our highlight of the whole trip was in Luang Prabang. The highlight of our activities was the offering food to Buddhist monks.Rachamankha: "Old City Oasis"
Traveling from the Chiang Mai Airport we encountered a buzz of traffic including autos, tuk-tuks and a swarm of scooters and small motorcycles. Crowded, bussling, narrow streets apperared to be the norm. Then our driver turned onto a side street and pulled into the calm and quiet of Rachamankha. The staff of the hotel and the restaurant where gracious and attentive. The grounds are gorgeous and peaceful. We spent a few quiet hours by the tranquil pool. Great experince.Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Relaxing get-away"
Rice and Zen is set in the most gorgeous location, amidst the paddies and lush landscape. Michael is a very attentive, yet discreet host and we had a lovely time exploring the local area and restaurants on the bikes/scooter provided. The pool is gorgeous and perfect for lazing away an afternoon or morning; the villa accommodation is well appointed and slept our family of 4 (kids aged 4 and 6) very comfortably. Many thanks!Slow Villas and Spa: "Amazing place"
"Nice an relaxing. Great service. All the mod cons. Probably the most luxurious accommodation on the island. The Indonesian BBQ that you can order on request is amazing. Great aircon, pool, beds, little kitchen and even a USB with shows on it in case you want a lazy afternoon watching Human Planet, Bikes and lights supplied. Great architecture, happy helpful staff. Massage included, yoga sessions, Pilates. Just Amazing"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "NOT SO EASY TO REACH – BUT HARDER TO LEAVE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO FORGET"
"One of my favourite hotels worldwide. Second time I've stayed here, and, 2 years on, the high standards are still maintained. Also it has become a more affordable option if you shop around on booking sites, making it better value. The service, the food, the uber-glamping ""tents,"" the friendliness of all staff and the unique and unbeatable location are superb - even more so when one considers the challenging logistics entailed in running a luxury boutique resort 30 minutes downriver from the nearest road. This is a place to go to relax. And if that is your intent, that is how you will leave...and then some! Special mention to Piphos on reservations for her rapid and efficient handling of my requests, and Paulo and Luz for their ever friendly and helpful service. My only minor criticism is that the onward taxi transfer prices are noticeably marked up from what you can arrange yourself. I don't readily award ""excellent"" in my reviews - I think the rating is seriously over-abused by TA reviewers. But this one is well deserved. Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"
