We Care
In an effort to minimize its carbon footprint, Samanea draws its water directly from an underground mountain stream. No pump is used to supply the various buildings as the circulation of water is done by a gravity system. In addition, all wastewater passes through a system with five settling ponds. Each of these basins is divided into three compartments, so that the decanted water can be discharged into the ground through a system of hose-bores in order to not contaminate the water table below as well as the seawater. It also has implemented channels to recover rainwater in which to water the mangrove.
To further help preserve the environment, Samenea cleans the mangrove every week. The resort also hires local staff and reduces half of its electricity power with solar panels.
