Villa Song Saigon: "Just what we wanted"
The hotel is situated a little out of the mad rush of HCMC but with the boat shuttle downtown and the pleasant outlook dining on the terrace alongside the river it was a great way to start our holiday. The staff could not have been friendlier or more professional. Their recommendations where to go in the city for money changing etc were spot on. And having an al a carte breakfast of the highest quality was a geat way to start the day. The one dinner we had here was first class and the cocktails were delightful. An indication of the quality of the hotel. It is shutting soon for renovations- the step down to the terrace does need attention- but while thta happens the staff are not laid off but are getting English lessons! And that is only building on an already first class ability to communicate in a foreign language. Elegant, delicious food and lovely ambiance for our dinner. But book early if you have a specific date/time you want to eat, as we had to eat later than we wanted just to get a reservation. "We drove five hours from the vibrancy of Phnom Penh to the peace of Tatai and the 4 Rivers - polar opposites. With no wifi, we abandoned the outside world for three days and sank into the luxury and tranquility of this mini resort. With just 12 lodges, and a whole river to yourselves, there is no option but to relax and unwind. We kayaked, swam, had a go at stand up paddle and took a couple of good tours; one to kayak through the mangroves, and the other (my favourite) to visit the Tatai Waterfall. The food throughout was excellent. Service very attentive. You emerge refreshed and ready to take on the rest of your journey. "Hotel Tugu Malang is a place to stay for those who love art and history combined with pleasure. While the service is way beyond average, one will also find that the food served in the restaurant and the snacks sold in the small shop house behind the hotel are able to entertain the taste buds. The artistic decoration of the hotel can also entertain the eyes. Absolutely nothing to complain, but....since there is nothing perfect in this world, I would suggest that each staff is provided with the same level of knowledge and way to explain the history of the hotel, the owner, the rooms and the antique goods so that all guests will get the same knowledge"Manda De Laos: "Fantastic food and location"
We stayed right across the road from this restaurant and so decided to splash out a bit and have a meal here. The restaurant setting was beautiful. We walked in without a reservation and were given a table right by the lily pond - however it is low season at the moment and we went quite early (around 6pm). The food was superb! The starters were definitely the highlight - we had the traditional sausage and the papaya salad with melting pork both of which were delicious!! It's definitely expensive for SE Asia, but we really enjoyed our meal here and would go back. We paid around £45 for two courses and a cocktail each for two people.Heritage Suites: "Old but goal"

"Unfortunately, memory fails of the date of our visit, which was prior to said date, but not of the enchantment of the hotel which persists. After the taxi ride from the airport through the streets of Chang Mai, we were swept into a land of storybook imagination. The creation of an atmosphere of Asian quiet elegance settled softly around us. My fondest memory, and one I would fervently like to repeat, is having a massage on the open air second floor of the pool pavilion. A gentle breeze kissed the curtains and birds sang while I floated away to another dimension. The restaurant is very good, allowing one to remain within the dream. We had a chance to try out the new Supanniga sunset cruise with my sister and her fiancee who were visiting us. Compared to many of the other river cruises, the experience was much more intimate with a small boat that was not in the least crowded for the 1-hour sunset cruise on a Sunday. Very comfortable and nice scenery, and the glass of champagne offered was very good! The sunset cruise includes no food beyond a few nibbles (think peanuts and dried shrimp), but the service was great and the menu for the later dinner cruise looked very appetising as well. Recommended for a special event or a less touristy cruise option for visitors!
