Sandat Glamping Tents: "Felt like home"
"Went here for my honeymoon and stayed for 2 nights. Really wonderful place and one of its kind experience.. luxury and comfort with the advenutre of being right in the woods! Go here only if you love to stay away from the noise of a city. The staff was also really wonderful and took really good care of us! Thank you guys..! The only issue i had was no air condition in the tents and its very humid there so had to move to a different room which had air condition!"SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Beautiful lakeside fine dining with perfect service"
"Last night we had the most beautiful dinner at Seeds. With personalised service and attention from the owners and their extremely well trained, attentive and friendly staff, this is a perfect restaurant for a business or a romantic dinner. The delicious canoes, home made truffle ravioli with truffle foam and perfectly cooked sea bass were absolutely in keeping with the chefs’ Michelin accolades. A wonderful balanced wine list with reasonable prices rounds out the perfect meal. The architecture is stunning too. Overlooking perfectly kept gardens that undulate down to the lake there’s even a stunning water feature fountain that appears to shoot out from the lake under lights. To top it off, there’s a private dining g room on a glamorous treehouse. Just amazing!"Mathis Retreat: "Ultimate Relaxation"
"I've stayed at this hotel with my parents twice - once in 2014 and once in 2016. It was then known as Kenanga. I hope that the name change doesn't impact anything else, because our stays were both so perfect. The staff are SO attentive and friendly. The service is really amazing. You're welcomed with warm smiles every morning, and really begin to feel at home. We stayed in the bungalows the first time. They are renovated so beautifully, with a cool and comfortable design. Every detail, from the bathtub to the nightstand to the soaps, seems to be intentionally planned. The second time we stayed in normal rooms. Like the bungalow, the room was lovely (only a little smaller). The only difference is that the bungalow is closer to the pool/restaurant and that the room has a nicer view of the rice paddies. All in all, I could stay in either and be just as content. The entire property is so beautiful and peaceful. They play quiet but fitting music in the open air restaurant, the pool is spotless and has a perfect temperature, there are shady and sunny spots surrounding the pool to read and relax at, the restaurant is beautiful during day and night, and the hotel isn't too far away from Ubud. During both stays we walked from the hotel to Ubud, and it's really a charming walk. The drive is less than ten minutes. I would really recommend staying outside of Ubud and going into the town during the day. It's a lot more peaceful. When I look back on our stays at Kenanga, I really feel an inner bliss. The food (again, I hope this stays the same in spite of the name change) is actually AMAZING. You have several different breakfast choices from the menu, all of which are prepared so well. It leaves you full, but not too full like at many other buffet-style breakfasts. I hate to be the kind of tourist who eats most meals at the hotel, but I have to admit that my mom and I ate two of four dinners at the hotel. Absolutely no regrets. The food is so tasty, and you can choose from local flavors to western food. I mean it when I say that this is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. They also prepare the most lovely drinks out of all kinds of fresh fruit. I'm under 18, so I only had fresh juices, but I'm sure their cocktail and alcohol selection is great. The kitchen really knows how to use natural ingredients. I had papaya juice every morning with my breakfast, and tried out several of their mixed juices during the evening when my parents had wine. My family usually doesn't go back to past destinations, and definitely not back to old hotels, just because second and third stays usually can't compare with first impressions. Kenanga is an outlier, however. We couldn't help but return for a second stay, and I'm having a hard time not knowing when I'll get to go back again. I hope everything about this hotel stays the same - the atmosphere, the charm, the service, the food, the views, and the size. I'm fine with a name change (though the name Kenanga has a special place in my heart) as long as the experience will be the same whenever I get a chance to return."Sanak Retreat Bali: "Getting better and better"
I stayed at Sanak a couple years ago and always wanted to go back. I finally did and had an even better time than I did the 1st time. Sebastian and his team really have the term 'hospitality' at heart, attending to your every need. Now the property has a spa too so it adds to the sense of relaxation. But if you want to stay active, many excursions are possible, always with local people that know the area very well. I recommend to stay at least 2 nights to fully take in all that Munduk and Sanak have to offer. I look forward to coming back!Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Oustanding resort. Everyone needs to stay here"
"We spent 3 nights here, looking for relaxation and a beautiful setting. We definitely got this and more. The service was fantastic, staff were happy to help in anyway possible and went above and beyond. The food is some of the best I've ever tasted, not to mention the cocktails! Whilst it wasn't walking distance from town, it is very easy to get a taxi and to be honest...you might just find that you never want to leave the resort anyway as they have everything you need! I will definitely be back! Stayed February 2017, traveled with friends"Slow Villas and Spa: "Relax, recharge and rejuvenate"
"We spent 3 nights in Slow Gili Air and just had the nicest experience. We planned on staying only one night and ended up staying 3 nights...thats the perfect time to get the slow feeling in completely :) Everything is made with love and thought through with great taste. From the beautiful cutlery to the cellphone bags, we were just charmed by the planning and realisation of this private villa. It is a home away from home. If you like you can even prepare your own meal in your kitchenette or order food from the best restaurants on the island, slow staff will get it for you. We also had a great Aloe Vera Massage at the brand new spa. The staff just came back from their training in Bali and was absolutely qualified. Generally the staff is super friendly and helpful, as all people in Indonesia :) They arrange everything for you Snorkelling, Horseback riding, Diving, etc. Slow Villas is just a beautiful place with beautiful people <3 and I will recommend it to everybody."Supanniga Eating Room: "Delicious lunch in a fabulous setting"
Casual but well thought out setting; more importantly a very satisfying meal! Fresh & tastey; & service was efficient. Few dishes that I saw on menu that I will make a return visit in the near future.Samanea Beach Resort: "Great relaxing time"
spent a few days in the resort and it was very relaxing. The pool is very big and the nature is everywhere. We really enjoyed the quiet area surrounding the resort. The beach is not that big but the view was very peaceful.Cuca: "Chef served ‘Bliss"
"Trying to decide where to eat can be a challenge in Bali with the increasing number of fabulous restaurants operating across the island. So when it comes to a restaurant of Cuca's style it's hard not to sound 'same - same' when saying how fabulous this resturant really is. From the moment you arrive at the resturant you're cocooned in a private oasis with the choice of a tranquil garden setting, to the striped back elegance of the dining room. The food! What can I say about the food. The most amazing food I've tasted. The Chefs selection was truely an onslaught of amazing flavours and textures. Each course was better than the previous. The portions were just right and left you wanting more. I can't recommend this resturant highly enough. It's worth the drive from Legian or Seminyak 70k (including a tip each way in taxi - cheaper in a car). The dinner with a bottle of Chilean wine was 200,000. Pure bliss. "Villa Song: "Paradise by the River"
"Had the pleasure of staying at this lovely riverside villa earlier this month. Beautifully appointed with an attentive staff to match. Highlights included ultra-comfortable room and wonderful breakfasts and cocktails overlooking the river. Highly recommended"
