Very quiet, beautifull and confortable place to stay. Not like an hotel, more like a beautiful home, a nice library to spend time to read drinking a good tea, possibility to access to a free Wi-Fi, and very kind persons at the check in/out, at the restaurant for the diner or the breakfast...Sanak Retreat Bali: "Beautiful Retreat in the Rice Fields"
"Beautiful hotel, villas, common rooms an gardens are extremely tastefully decorated. Nice pool, fantastic spa, very good food (best breakfast on Bali so far). We can recommend a trip to the base camp from the hotel with the possibility to drive with buggies further into the mountains. "We spent 3 nights in Tugu and were firstly impressed by the size and beauty of the property. The long stretch of private beach and two pools offer a lot of space and comfy sun loungers. The surrounding area and restaurant/ lobby is beautiful - very authentic and often pays tribute to the Hindu religion and times gone by, but is very charming. The service is excellent - they offer a very personal service and give great advice about hotel activities and the surrounding areas. Elly and Henry in reception are brilliant. The menu is extensive and the food was good. Smoothies and cocktails are excellent. We also enjoyed a private yoga class and massage - both were great and reasonably priced. A truly wonderful resort with a fabulous sense of style and beach sophistication. A great launching point to climb Rinjani or simply relax on the quite side of Lombok. We didn't get to try the tapas restaurant as it is only open a few nights a week. This was our only disappointment.Tugu Bali: "High quality hotel with strong historical identity"
"We enjoyed very much Tugu Hotel for the beginning of our honeymoon with my wife, through a three nights stay. The particularity of Tugu Hotel is that it is also a kind of museum with valuable and well designed pieces of furniture, decorations and paintings. Rooms are like small houses with an internal private courtyard and a swimming pool. The garden is also well designed with nice statues coming from ages. Lovely place. Look carefully for the oversized, unpainted wooden doors, push them in, and you will be welcomed to a quiet respite with an award winning design, asian inspired western style dishes, attentive staff and a drinkable wine selection. A few choices of red, white and sparkling are available by the glass as well as the carafe, if you choose not to get a bottle. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The food is fresh and well prepared, without the grease or too much salt, that many of the local dishes are overloaded with. The atmosphere comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. Jing restaurant, hotel and spa, is not for the budget minded traveler. The prices are city prices plus service charge. Even so, if you wish to celebrate a special day or create a memorable moment why not have a glass of bubbly or specialty cocktail in their second floor bar looking out onto a simply decorated, peaceful courtyard?
