4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Paradise!"
A bit of a trek to get there, but well worth it. We would certainly like to go back. Luxurious tents, everything was beautifuly clean. People so welcoming, very friendly and good fun. Food was excellent and served in a lovely restaurant. Woke up every morning to see the river, the forest behind and know we were in for a great day. Trips daily if you want to go. We so enjoyed our time here! Phakdey Chhun is the manager- and a more kind and attentive man you could not meet. The location is a little tuk tuk ride to the the city center, but Mr. Dan is awesome! Dan took us around - bamboo train and a pagoda with Khmer Rougevties. He was insightful and kind. The pool is amazing as well as breakfast. The little village outside the resort is worth exploring- the people are so kind and the kids are delightful. Only stayed here one night but was a lovely way to camp .very cute tents with a private plunge pool .very private and peaceful located in the middle of rice paddies .resturant served excellent food .very clean ...only thing I could fault were the beds mattresses were a little to hard to sleep on but if only doing a night you can survive it .... Loved how each tent had a musical instrument which you had to play to get room service so much fun .....staff very nice ....all round a nice place to have some quite time ....Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Delicious food and friendly service"
I was only my way to another restaurant but i stopped by and checked it out as i saw this on tripadvisor. While i was looking on my phone on the tripadvisor review, the owner came out and said i shouldnt be standing on the road as its dangerous. He invited me in to look at the menu and i decided to stay for dinner. There were two set menus with 5 or 6 course and they are very delicious and value for money (US 27/31). The duck pancake was particularly delicious. I asked to switch some dishes from the other menu and they were happy to accommodate. Wine was only US 4 per glass. Service was good and the decor was lovely. The owner will also come and present some fruit as well as chatting with you after your meal. Id have to pay more than US 100 a meal like this. One of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've ever had. You can sit inside or outside in the beautiful and spacious garden. There are also limited says available looking directly into the kitchen where you can see e chefs preparing. We chose the chefs selection menu and found that all the dishes were delicious, and very well presented. The real highlight for myself, and for my girlfriend who doesn't care for seafood was the smoked butterfish - make sure you try this it's unbelievable. The meat and potatoes dish, which is essentially a dressed up shepherds pie, is the real surprise. I've eaten many in my time but none so rich and warming as this. Seasoned absolutely perfectly. The desserts are also very good and the cocktails are incredible! They do double measures of each one which really made me happy! Finally the superb service of the ultra friendly staff has to be noted - from the moment we stepped in- and to when our waiter escorted us to our taxi outside. "At Tugu Malang they really understand how to treat hotel guest. Such hospitality is rare but absolutely great. Each member of the staff goes the extra mile to please the guests. The hotel also doubles as a museum. It is really a fabulous place. Rooms are well equiped (not your standard decoration though). We also tried the restaurant: same story ... Staff is super helpful and friendly food ... A huge choice of dishes from malang street food, chinese, dutch and italian cuisine ... Pages and pages of dishes. The kitchen must be super organized because food arrives pretty quickly and was so really good. If you go to Malang.... We stayed in a hillside villa. The villa was lovely with two balconies with amazing sea views and access to the private beach. It had all the amenities we needed. The staff are extremely helpful and polite and Ben made sure we had a great experience. The food in the restaurant was good and it has a nice atmosphere in the evening when the day trippers have headed back to KK.. There is also a house band happy to attempt any request you have.. Passed 3 nights in this nice hotel locate just 1 km from Pai town centre. The resort is really nice, it has 2 nice swimming pools, very good mediterranean restaurant and lovely rooms well equipped. Breakfast is à la carte, so you can choose whatever you prefer. It is really good! Wish to come back
