Slow Villas and Spa: "Simply Amazing"
We found this place on our last night on Gili Air, if only we found it earlier! It is so wonderful, we had the best stay. From a wonderful welcome with delicious welcome drink to a sensational breakfast before we left, everything has been 5 stars. They even offered complimentary massage in the new spa, which is built in a beautifully designed circular bamboo building. The design of this whole place really is something else. My husband and I could not stop commenting on how well thought out this place is. We loved it quiet surroundings and remoteness. It really is a hidden gem. It is worth spending the extra money to stay here. It is pretty great value really. So sad to leave but we will definitely be back for a longer stay next time.Locavore: "Taste Bud Experience"
We did the 7 course lunch with drink pairing. It was a great experience and we highly recommend it. Every course was sensational. It was a 2.5 hour food session that we will remember for a long time! Only suggestion would be explanation cards on each dish and drinks written in English as the normal language barrier plus background noises made it very hard to take in everything our waitress was explaining. Thank you Lavacore and see you again next time we visit.Satri House: "The Oasis in Luang Prabang"
"This resort is very charming and colonial, tucked away from the main town area, with a very serene and quiet surrounding. The main town area is just some easy 5-8 min walk away, which gives this resort the best of both worlds - convenient yet peaceful. The service was excellent. We were personally greeted by Mr Lucky and Ms Navinda, both were very warm and hospitable. Breakfast was superb too, with very interesting choices and generous servings. Room make-up service was very prompt and frequent, and they would replace the used towels with clean ones each time they make up the room. There are 2 pools in the resort, with a lot of secret hidden corners for you to discover, and you can have the whole place to yourselves to relax. Before checkout, the hotel staff even packed the breakfast for us to eat before our flight. What a nice gesture! We would not hesitate to return and recommend this place to everyone visiting Luang Prabang."Slow Villas and Spa: "A very private and very chic hideout that is difficult to beat"
"We stayed in Slow Vilas last week of July 2016. Tucked away in a more remote part of Gili Air, Slow was the perfect place that combines desert-island and experience with locals and the highest quality of comfort, local antique furnishing and charm. We felt Slow was right at the other end of the spectrum of an impersonal resort, where everything is designed to work with the local community, local taste and eco-friendliness. The hard-working expat' Julie running the place has a strong enough personality to transmit her energy and passion for her desert-island project / concept into her guests ; while making sure that everything is run to the highest standards to keep everyone happy. This is truely one not to be missed. Island-bliss..."Chakrabongse Villas & Residences: "Hospitality and Location"
Exceptional location and warm hospitality. Our family of four booked one of the river suites and one of the garden rooms for 4 days over Christmas. First off, the property is a gem in the heart of the historic area. It makes it very easy to walk to many of the top sites, take the ferry, see the flower and medicine markets and more. Secondly, both Atom and Ohm and their warmth made the stay exceptional. They provided so much historical and local knowledge that was pure gold. Thirdly, the owner, the third generation from one of the last kings, was in town, and she kindly sent around champagne for Christmas. A nice touch. And finally, the river view for dinner and breakfast was lovely. This is a true oasis in the heart of Bangkok. Skip the soulless hotel and experience a Thai boutique villa. Thank you again, Atom and Ohm!The Cabochon Hotel: "See you soon! Cabochon"
"10 years ago I have stayed in the hotel run by the same owner as Cabochon's and it was an unforgettable experience, that's why after 10 years, I decided to spend a night here at Cabochon and hoped it was as great as the previous one, and it didn't disappoint. To me, people in the hotel are important, cause they are the ones who make you feel welcome and home, and staff at Cabochon is definitely warm and lovely, always having smiles on their cute faces. The hotel is undoubtedly beautiful, you really have to appreciate the owner's taste, I feel like a princess when staying in the room with all the antiques and retro vibe. The restaurant ""Thai Lao Yeh"" in the hotel serves good Thai food, too. My local friend who dined with us said it is authentic and delicious. With all the above mentioned, what's not to love about Cabochon? I hope next time I don't have to wait 10 years to go back, see you really soon, Cabochon. Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"Satri House: "The ideal hotel, faultless in every way"
"We chose Satri House after a bad experience in Chiang Mai and didn't want to take any chances. Our choice was extremely good. Satri House is perfect in almost every way. The architecture, the ambience, the gardens, the stafff all blend into a package that I really cannot fault. There is something so natural, so unassuming and effortless in the professionalism at Satri House that people in every service industry could learn from. We enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay from three to six nights. We arrived and were welcomed and showed into the charming drawing room, where Giovanni introduced himself. We had a junior suite in House 7, which some people here have said might be somewhat louder than elsewhere, but the hotel is situated in a city after all. It was not a problem; on the contrary, the decor and fittings were extremely tasteful. How great was it not to have a flat-screen TV in a hotel room as the default option! The large four-poster bed was very comfortable, the room had both a fan and air-conditioning. We ate at the restaurant once at Satri House on our first evening and would recommend it. The waiting staff, who double up at the bar, are really friendly and, if you want, keen to practise their English and tell you about Lao culture (Thanks Panyit and Peng!) Breakfast consists or either Western choices (baguette, to-die-for-croissants with homemade pineapple, tomato and tamarind jams, egg dishes) or Lao dishes (noodle soups, rice porridge etc). Again, the staff were extremely attentive and unassuming, watched over by a lady restaurant head who could seemingly converse in every possible language. There are two pools, with each lounger sporting towels and a complementary Panama hat. The centre of Satri House is colonial villa which has been added on to in the same style by the present owner. The small gardens blend in to the buildings, joined by bamboo-lined alleys and stairways, decorated tastefully with colonial furniture and statues of Oriental divinities. It's cleverly executed, making the site seem bigger than it is. An odour of lemongrass lingers in the air, pleasant to human noses and repellent for mosquitoes. Satri House is quite simply the best place I have ever stayed in."Tugu Bali: "Most Unique Property in Bali"
"A very lovely boutique hotel, very authentic and luxurious, elaborately decorated property with lots of Balinese details in every corner. Excellent food, a very enchanting garden, attentive and caring staff who respect guests privacy. Service is impeccable and closest to perfect you will find. Pristine Canngu beachfront at the hotel is ideal for surfers and great sunset spot. If you are a traveller looking for a truly unique Bali experience, this is the place to have it. I would highly recommend Hotel Tugu without any hesitation or reservation."Heritage Suites Hotel: "Truly remarkable staff from top to bottom!"
"I acquired a two nights stay at the heritage suites through a silent auction in Shanghai. I was unable make it to Cambodia before the expiration date of the room nights. The general manager was cool enough to extend the time frame and after staying I am more grateful to the management than before! Beautiful rooms, affordable and world class food and beverage! But the true highlight our stay was the hotels staff! All were outstanding in both service and attitude. Rathner , the server by the pool was a standout but really all of them truly seemed to care about the guests here. The adventures office staff set us up with a private boat tour, personal driver, helicopter tour. Take their advice on everything!! They are right! The front desk are all pros and made sure all of our needs were met and checking was seamless. I wish I could remember everyone's name but trust me, they are all very good at what they do. The owners of this property have truly been blessed with a Fantastic staff and I will definitely be back to see them again. The temples are beautiful but the people at this property made this trip special for us. Well done!"Reverie Siam Pai: "Very nice and relaxing"
Passed 3 nights in this nice hotel locate just 1 km from Pai town centre. The resort is really nice, it has 2 nice swimming pools, very good mediterranean restaurant and lovely rooms well equipped. Breakfast is à la carte, so you can choose whatever you prefer. It is really good! Wish to come back
