Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "One of Asia’s best"
Modern Thai at its best with this award winning restaurant with it talented young Chef whose partner does a mean wine pairing to go with your meal. Highly recommendedGlenburn Tea Estate: "Shangri-La in Darjeeling"
We spent four wonderful days in this Shangri-La situated in the Himalayan Mountains, surrounded by tea gardens, hikes through the tea gardens and tiny villages, scenery to paint, and of course wonderful tea picked at the estate. Each evening a delightful family meal, meeting fun and interesting people, and wonderful food from a different region each evening. A little off the beaten path, but worth the little extra effort to get to paradise.KHWAN BEACH RESORT: "Transit in Heaven"
"We spent only one night for transit in Khwan Beach, we selected the resort due its advert being first Gallery resort in Thailand, we were curious and we enjoyed over much that short stay next to beach with a manicured and excellent staff service , breakfast included was super great served in the villa, amazing privacy and yet a nice overview of the Ocean (and koh Phangan Island ) 50 meters away. Sure we will come back n stay longer... congratulation for the wholeover amazing decoration "Maison Polanka: "A little slice of paradise"
Tucked away down a maze of non-descipt unpaved lane, the gates open, and you are in a little slice of paradise. A garden you can tell has been tended for with love and care. Traditional wooded huts on stilts that house 5 rooms. Each room is different, spacious, simple and tasteful decor. We stayed 4 nights in the Yellow Room and loved it: it's at the far end, so very quiet. Loved the lemongrass essence burning when we checked in. Windows looking out to greenery. Bed is very comfortable. The bathrooom is spacious and bright with very high ceiling and a skylight. There is a smallish but beautiful pool, we had a swim every day after a morning's sight-seeing, then lunch at the pool side restaurant. The food is delicious: my first taste of Cambodian, a bit like Thai and Vietnamese, but more delicate flavours. Dinner at the pool side is wonderful, quiet, great food, great wine, very attentive service. There is a dog, a rabbit, a cat...Don't stay in a run-of-the-mill 5 star chain, I warmly recommend Maison Polanka, it's a stay you will rememberCuca: "Amazing lunch"
Lovely place with a nice garden to wander around. Food was excellent. Meats and seafood were fantastic. Comes tapas style for sharing. Everything was excellent. We ordered every single item on the seafood and meat menu and had nothing to complain about. Every single dish was exquisite. Only complaint was the black pepper ice cream for desert which left an odd after taste. Price wise is a little on the expensive side for Bali. Expect to pay 500k per pax.David’s Kitchen: "Brilliant international food in Chiang Mai with a personal touch"
"Just as all the other reviews say, the food is FANTASTIC - and, I'm quite particular when it comes to food and wine. Highly recommend the Tuna Niciose and the Pumpkin Soup. There's a great vibe in the restaurant, and that comes from the fact that a lot of love goes into running it - this comes through in the atmosphere and the food so clearly. Thanks for a lovely night, David and team - and all the best in your beautiful new location in Chiang Mai!"David’s Kitchen: "Wow, what a fabulous French cuisine restaurant. Food and service excellent"
Visited David's Kitchen with friends and was pleasantly surprised at the ambience of the restaurant. You could not get any better food and service in Paris itself. This restaurant is a must if you are visiting Chiang Mai.Misool Eco Resort: "An amazing place"
The cottages are roomy and have plenty of storage. The staff is relentlessly positive. The diving and snorkeling is out of this world. Within a short boat ride from the resort are a myriad of sites and even the House reef good enough to snorkel again and again. The food is very good. The resort is located within a huge private marine reserve. This reserve has been a no take zone for about 10 years and it shows with the abundance of life.Rachamankha: "Zen Hotel"
We loved our stay at Rachamankha. As others said, it felt like you were in a secluded location when you were actually right in the heart of old town Chiang Mai. Paul, the manager, is too good for words. He found out we were on our honeymoon...at our next hotel in Krabi, we had a package waiting for us in our room one night. It was a custom piece of artwork, with both my and my wife's names written in thai, and a personal note from Paul thanking us for staying at the hotel. We would absolutely stay here again without a 2nd thought.Villa Song Saigon: "One of the most beautiful Hotels in the World"
Went with my husband for a week end escape. The old villa has been restored magnificently. Pool is perfect. We had a room overlooking the river, with spectacular furniture, classic charm and attention to detail, beautifully renovated. Truly an escape. The location on the river away from the main city is perfect, very quiet and peaceful, fantastic to watch passing boats over breakfast overlooking river. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was perhaps less impressive, not a great selection. Wine was however very good. The speed boat trip to town was complimentary, an added plus, very fun.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
