"We have spent 6 days at Golden Buddha in December 2015 and it has been one of the best Holiday experiences so far. The location is fantastic, the staff and the management are very friendly and the whole atmosphere is very familiar and relaxed. Food, drinks and services (e.g. Thai Massage) are great and our Baan was also stunning. Hopefully we can come back one day."Tugu Bali: "Relax in a luxurious, romantic setting"
"We were looking for a more traditional and authentic Balinese experience and Hotel Tugu Bali exceeded our expectations by far. The hotel overlooking Canggu beach is built from temple remains and furnished with the largest collection of Balinese antiques and artworks. The grounds were beautiful and immaculate with large, amazing, comfortable rooms. The food was beautiful at the fine-dining restaurants (this included a Japanese Restaurant, Ji). Each afternoon complimentary 'High-tea' with local and western delicacies was provided which we never missed! The staff were excellent - so friendly, helpful and willing to assist in any way. This was exemplified by the Manager, Jenny Bellora. The close proximity of the surf kept my husband very happy each day and I enjoyed the relaxing time spent by the pool. Canggu itself is a new and developing area in Bali and the hotel was within walking distance to lovely shops, restaurants, boutiques and a local market. Room Tip: Rejang Suite (bedroom and verandah). Each evening from the verandah we enjoyed watching the sunset a..."Satri House: "Fantastic stay. Lovely location and great service"
Satri house was a great experience overall. Lovely location on a quiet (well usually, see below) residential street 5 mins from "town". Great service, lovely clean rooms and amazing little edible treats left in the rooms every afternoon. The pool area is small so loungers are limited but there is a second pool area if needs be. The restaurant serves a really nice breakfast and although we only ate dinner their once that was great too. The spa was good. Not amazing but not bad. There were two downsides - the number of mosquitos which were ridiculous and almost certainly bred in the large pond by reception/the restaurant - the stagnant water must be heaven on earth for them. At any one time we had a least 10 in our room and never left the windows or doors open. The 4 poster bed with curtains helped keep the blood sucking critters at bay at night. The other downside whilst we were there was the non stop loud dance music coming from the festival next door combined with the karaoke on the street behind the pool for national women's day. We found it rather amusing but I doubt I would have felt the same if I had been there too much longer - plus our air con and fan helped drown out some of the noise when we were in the room. Despite the two issues I would definitely stay there again and loved our trip.Mathis Retreat: "A real retreat in beautiful surroundings with wonderful staff"
We received a wonderful, warm welcome at this peaceful haven which is a 10 minute taxi ride from the centre of Ubud. We chose a room in the new block overlooking the rice fields which was just beautiful- the pictures on the website do not do it justice. Fresh fruit was delivered to our room each evening. Breakfast at the Terracotta restaurant overlooking the rice fields was lovely and eating there in the evening was magical. The staff go out of their way to be helpful at every opportunity. We used the hotel as a base from which to explore this fascinating part of the island and would definitely recommend it. Only slight con was the wi fi was very temperamental but a small price to pay!Heritage Suites: "Perfect Place to Spend the Rest of My Life… If only I could"
My sister and I shared a bungalow suite and felt very much like queens. She's used to 5-star service, but I'm still a little awe-struck. The room was large with a sitting room, private outside area, and a large king sized bed, with a sturdy mattress and high quality bedding. The service was wonderful. While all of the staff were friendly and helpful, stand-outs for our stay were Sim and Sippa. They were both very attentive to our needs, and suggested things when we asked questions, and Sippa was able to find several options when we told her we wanted to see an Apsara dance. Breakfast is included and is delicious. The coffee was wonderful, the fruit ripe and tasty and the mini croissants and pain-au-chocolats crafted the French way. We ate at the restaurant for dinner once, and we all loved the food. I'm a vegetarian and the chef made sure I could eat eggs and added one to my rice and veggie dish. Tip- get the passion fruit sorbet. To Die For. The pool was lovely and we had drinks two afternoons in a row sitting by the pool. We also got massages while there- they are excellent for relaxing massages but if you're going in for some kind of sports, technical, injury related massage, my advice is to wait for your regular masseuse and enjoy their relaxing massages, which are very good. We had a wonderful time and hope to return one day. The return flight about killed me, but this place is worth another visit.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Cultural Hotel"
"Very much enjoyed this hotel/museum. The staff were attentive and informative . The free bikes a great idea . Well located. The female receptionist (song?) was extremely helpful with tips of where to go and advice . Review collected in partnership with this hotel "SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "A great restaurant by the Inya Lake. Owner Lucia is a great host and fine dining expert."
Watch the Inya Lake sunset over drinks and fine dining later. Romantic setting with World Class Chef cuisine indoor or outdoor by the lawn & garden.Villa Song Saigon: "Sunday Song"
How lovely! Sometimes on holiday you just need to check in, hang out at the giant pool, order great food and drinks, sleep in and reflect. This weekend was one of those. Thank you you villa song you made it all worthwhile.Tugu Lombok: "Spectacular hotel, location, food & staff! Couldn’t ask for more"
"Absolutely amazing 3 days at Tugu Lombok. Beautiful beach front hotel with the most friendly and attentive staff. Sharon and team are fabulous. Food is superb. Rooms are tastefully decorated with Indonesian art- each room/ villa is unique. Never had a bigger or better bed! Two large pools and plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas on the beach. It feels very private and personal. I am very hard to please- this hotel definitely stands out. Will be going back for sure."
