David’s Kitchen: "David’s Kitchen – amazing service, amazing food"
"We were in Thailand for our honeymoon and my husband planned a dinner at David's Kitchen for our one week wedding anniversary. The service was truly the best, it was amazing to have the actual David come and speak with us and congratulate us on our wedding! But more importantly (in my opinion :) ) the food was OUTSTANDING! The spicy fish salad with green apple - one of my absolute favorite dishes in Thailand (from our whole trip)! We also got the oysters which were so delicious! For dinner we had the Squid ink linguine with spicy seafood sauce which was cooked to perfection and the Braised Beef cheek slow-cooked in red wine with Paris mash, it was sooo tender and delicious. There was even a lemon sorbet pallet cleanser between courses...it was so delicious, we ordered it for dessert too! David's Kitchen is a must if you are visiting Chiang Mai - you will not regret it!! :)"Villa Song Saigon: "Great location, fantastic food"
"Nice boutique hotel with nice rooms and in a quiet neighbourhood. 30 minutes from city center and 40 minutes from airport. Taxi to city around 150,000 VND. Great spot at the Saigon river with an excellent restaurant. The staff is very dedicated and service minded! The food was excellent and we had dinner there every evening. The breakfast is a la carte which is great as it has more standing than a buffet. Swimming pool excellent with nice beds. Fitness room nice and clean. However, they should add a bicycle as that is missing. Two items for improvement 1) is that the beds are relatively small for large people and 2) the neighbours were relatively noisy early in the morning one day. Overall strong recommendation with an excellent rating!"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion Logo Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Magnificent lunch in a historic house"
The blue mansion has been restored to its former glory with incredible attention to detail. The care taker Uncle fitted right into his role as he greeted us and ushered us into a garden and house which allows you to step back in time. The two hours we spent were magical. The lunch sumptuous and service impeccable. Wonderful wine selection and fusion food with a Peranakan flavour. Highly recommend and would return for a stay there.Villa Mathis: "what a great stay"
"A romantic gataway with an amazing service and an amazing manager. We felt taken care every moment of our stay. Villas are very state full designed. With so many small corners, lounges, pools and cabanas we never felt in a hotel, more like a private Home. liked it a lot and just 10 min from the Buzz. great work guys keep it up."Talabgaon Castle: "A pearl tucked in the beautiful Rajasthani countryside"
"Located one and a half hour from Jaipur on the way to Ranthambore or Bundi, Talabgaon Castel is the perfect blend of Rajasthani heritage and culture ! The road to reach is crossing the countryside and villages. I love the thrill of diving deep in the rural India and suddenly reaching this splendid property. It brings you back in the royal times ! The castel has been remarquably renovated and improved by this family of polo players who are passionate about their legacy. I came with some friends and we were welcomed and by two of the brothers who take great care of us all along our stay. The staff is professional and provided an excellent service. They serve authentic Rajasthani food made with the vegetables from the organic garden. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and beautiful. Chose one with the view on the swimming pool ! I particularly loved the gardens where you can stroll until the organic gardens, the farm the polo field and meet on your way some peacocks and even an emeu ! Perfect place to explore the rural life of India and to relax. They offer a large range of activities in an around the hotel (horse riding, walks, jeep safaris, camel cart ride...). We all wished we had stayed longer ! Thank you to the Talabgaon family for lovely time! Stayed January 2017, traveled with friends"Tugu Lombok: "A place where time stops and moments are created"
"It was our first time in Lombok and after spending a week in Bali we couldn’t be happier with the place. We arrived to Tugu Lombok early in the morning and we were welcomed with a refreshing Natural Juice just before the staff showed us the way to our Villa. After passing through our entrance garden we opened the door to our room. It was impressive. The huge and comfortable bed in the middle of the room was just waiting for me! As I lay in the bed I notice that just in front of me is a beautiful private pool and few meters after the sea! The room was amazing with a lovely open air shower but was made me fall in love for this place was the outdoor area and facilities. The clear blue water was perfect for a swim and the hotel provided us with a complimentary Kayak and Stand up board so we could go explore the waters. Less than 100 meters from the white sand there’s a beautiful reef. It was the first time my girlfriend snorkeled and she absolutely loved it! Seeing so many colorful fishes so close to the beach was something we won’t be forgetting anytime soon. We had our daily breakfast served at the beach . The fresh fruit and the local coffee got me and the scrambled eggs were done to perfection. and even though we wanted to go explore the island we felt so good in the hotel grounds that we barely left Tugu during our stay. The main swimming pool is also a great spot to relax and we got to burn some calories from breakfast by playing Volleyball in the beach area. The design of the dining hall was impressive featuring traditional statues and a gigantic statue of a rooster on the roof. Every corner of the hotel is filled with pieces of Indonesian history. The hardest part of our stay was to leave. It seriously felt like we have stopped in time and lived a dream . Hope to be able to come back next year and live a bit more of our Indonesian dream."David’s Kitchen: "Excellent food, reasonable prices"
"I went on a date here with my (now) fiancee. I have to applaud David's kitchen for its flexibility in food and service - the clientele is a mix of thai nationals, Americans, Australians, Europeans, etc - yet the wait staff seem to be experts at responding to every inquiry. I had a food allergy (can't eat oats), and the wait staff was fast to swap out the bread for us. My fiancee was not a fan of her first soup order, and the staff exchanged it at no cost for another soup, which she liked much more. The actual food I would place at slightly above average. I ordered the strip steak. I can say I've had better steaks in America or Japan, but they were also more expensive. One dish doesn't make a restaurant, though - everything else was five stars: The truffle sauce was perfect. The appetizers were perfect. The chocolate lava cake was absolutely amazing. The cocktails were flawless. A mix of Thai friendliness and western elegance, this is a must for any traveler in Chiang Mai."The Village House: "Hidden Gem"
"Being a local, coming here felt like an 'easy escape.' Not much travelling needed but gives every good feeling a getaway would. Room is clean, tastefully decorated. The place felt very private which is perfect for if you want to 'escape' from people and just have a me time with yourself and your partner. Food is decent but don't expect much. However, having a quiet dinner by the pool and a rustic wooden decorated place helps a lot in adding the 'taste' to the food - in a good way. There isn't really much to do there - but that's what getaway are all about - you really just want to spent time in the room, doing nothing. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Stayed May 2016, traveled as a couple"Sea Dance Resort: "Glad to be back"
It's always a pleasure to be back.Friendly & helpfull team, great & peacefull surrunding.U can even go out and check on the Fisherman village or stay and listen some life jazz music in the resort. It's my paradise 'bubble'.Only 1regret,I never stay long enough...Tugu Bali: "Exquisite beauty and great service"
"We were given a welcome drink and then escorted through beautiful grounds to room 209, an upper- floor Renjang Suite which was huge and featured a four-post canopy bed with carved wood, a beautiful hammered metal tub (a common Tugu Hotels feature) on an enclosed porch with views to the Indian Ocean and much more. The room was done throughout in beautiful wood and felt very cosy. The ceiling must have reached 20 feet at the top of the vault. Two Aircon units in the room kept the Bali heat in check. The bedding was very comfortable and in the serene setting with the sound of the waves out the windows we slept very well. The lighting was too dim for reading in bed, so bring your clip- to- the- book light if that matters to you! There were separate rooms for the shower and for the toilet. There was a lot of closet space and plenty of room for our luggage. Breakfast was a la carte and had a nice selection. The black rice was excellent, more or less a pudding, with coconut milk, delicious. Their omelets were tasty, too. There was delicately smoked salmon on their equivalent of soda bread, a very successful combination. The front desk, the bar, the restaurant tables and a large stage all share a big space under a vaulted roof. There was a cultural evening on our Thursday evening, no charge, and it was great. The statue of some winged beast at the back of the stage is impressive. The hotel is a showplace of various Indonesian works of art and is worth visiting just for that reason. The hotel puts chairs on the beach for guests and there’s also a lawn with beach chairs. You can order dinner and drinks on the lawn. The beach walks were great. There are lots of surfers to watch, and there are bars all along the beach in case the hot sun makes you thirsty… There were plenty of bars and restaurants all up and down the streets, too, but from what I saw between the hotel and the airport, there are restaurants and boutiques nearly everywhere in Bali, some in the least likely places. Be sure to agree taxi prices before you go anywhere as they will rip you off if you let them. Our first and only experience with this ended well because the Tugu’s porter came up to the taxi when he saw me disagreeing with the driver, and when he heard the driver’s demand he told the taxi guy to take what I offered and buzz off. After that, we were careful to agree beforehand. The location seems to be good, although this was my first trip to Bali and I do not have anything to compare it to. It takes about an hour to manage the 22km from the airport. At the end of our stay, the staff prepared a nice basket of fruit and chilled water to snack on in the car to the airport, and they all came out to wave goodbye, a very nice touch. We will certainly stay at the Tugu on our next Bali visit. "
