Manukan Island Resort: "Heaven in earth in Manukan Island"
A short boat ride from KK is Manukan Island. This small island with turquoise waters and white sandy beaches has this gem Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. We stayed in an awesome Hillside Villa just above their private beach. The villa was stunningly beautiful and comfy, you will feel like home. The décor itself makes you not want to leave the island ever! Pure luxury! Right below the villa is the beautiful beach where you can spend hours snorkeling and discovering the reef. The island is small and it has a sunset point where you can go and admire a beautiful sunset over the ocean. At night you can enjoy amazing food at their awesome restaurant with live music! Sutera Sanctuary lodges is Heaven on earth.Inle Princess Resort: "Splurge for the lake view suite"
"Beautiful hotel. The grounds are gorgeous. Service superb. I would splurge on the lake view suite. We spent a lot of time watching the sunsets and seeing the colors change on the water as the sun went down. This is definitely a balcony and view you will use. The restaurant was beautiful as was the bar. My only complaint was that they tried to pass off Tilapia one night as ""sea bass"". No big deal (as this type of slight of hand happens everywhere else), but I thought this clumsy and unnecessary."The Village House: "Love The Village House!"
"We have been to the Village House a few times. We keep going back because it is the perfect place to take in the Sarawak vibe. Beautiful rooms, great food (must try the Taste of Borneo tasting menu), but most of all a great group of people that run the place. We always feel at home and amongst friends while we are there. They can help you plan a day trip or a major excursion up the river to a long house. All in all, The Village House is a 10 out of 10. "Pindaya Farm House: "Peaceful place to stay"
Wish i can stay longger with Pindaya Farm House .Stayed during the Pindaya Festival. Had the whole property by myself . This property is away from the town ,so u can really enjoy walking up hearing bird singing . I highly recommended nature lover and prefer quite and peace .Sukoon Houseboat: "Wonderful stay"
"We had 4 nights on this beautiful houseboat and it was everything we had hoped for. Its position is on a quieter part of the lake with amazing views. The staff are charming and attentive, the rooms are well appointed and comfortable with large bathrooms. The food is good, vegetarians are catered for. The large sun deck has comfortable chairs to enjoy the view, and we also had breakfast and lunch there. Free wifi in the public areas. Our stay was over far too soon, wish we could have stayed longer!"Reverie Siam: "Wonderful Boutique Hotel"
"Stayed here for 4 nights, second floor mountain view. two swimming pools beautiful gardens wonderful FnB... the 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai was magical... like arriving in Shangri La They had two wonderful musicians playing in the lounge when we had our evening cocktails. Such attention to detail in the design. Somebody has paid an awful lot of attention to this resort, I only wish I could have met the manager to thank him in person. No exaggeration to say one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was fantastic, the cappuccino cinnamon toast was the best in the world. Cannot recommend highly enough Top Tip... grab a beer and head down to the gazebo by the river with your book and just chill out! Don't rely on Google Maps to get you here... it directs to through town to the other side of the river... the hotel is 1km down the street next to the police station"Hotel Tugu Malang: "Wonderful Magical and stunning afternoon tea"
I wouldn't say our room was the best, big but perhaps looking a bit tired and the electricals might need looking at but I still rate this hotel very highly as there really is no place like it for truly outstanding food (the menu takes a while to read and breakfast is marvellous but afternoon tea the best) and magical atmosphere, room after room of delightsRachamankha: "My favorite"
"My second visit to his wonderful hotel. The rooms are simple and roomy and the building feels like a piece of history. Lovely staff and a great bar. Best gin and tonic in Thailand? The local Thai breakfast option was delicious and interesting. Definitely worth a try as it's so different to what we expect from Western breakfast. Pool is quiet. No kids! Great!"Satri House: "Attention to Detail"
"The Satri House setting is welcoming, elegant, and most comfortable. The quality of all offerings (lovely grounds and statuary, water features, open-air restaurant, and rooms) is evident at first glance. The staff present a sincere attitude of kindness and concern to guests and strive to fulfill any possible requests. Be sure to ask to use the free bikes for a special view of Luang Prabang. Room Tip: We made no requests for a special room and were quite pleased with the hotel's choice for us."Satri House: "Special and a real secret retreat!…"
"We couldn't have made a better choice for our stay in LP! Used to check all reviews in detail before we make our booking, our expectations were already high when arriving at Satri House, but our experience during our 4 nights stay has beaten this even more. All ingredients for a perfect stay for my wife, our daughters and myself were there! It certainly is a hidden gem! All staff members are super friendly and personal. The warm welcome by Giovanni (the Satri House GM) himself was much appreciated. The atmosphere within Satri House is really special....quiet and majestic...Every single corner of the hotel has special, beautiful decorations and the rooms are very well acquainted with lots of special details. AC is perfect and beds very comfortable...Both swimming pools provided our kids lots of fun after having discovered LP and its surroundings in the heat during the day. Located very little outside the city centre, but with a short of 5 minutes by bike or TukTuk you're at the night market and the city centre. Breakfast is very good and a la carte (a la carte fits more with the atmosphere of Satri House than a buffet, so keep it like this). Marmelades prepared by the lovely grand old lady are delicious and the special birthday cake for our youngest daughter during her birthday was very much appreciated! All in all, having travelled all over the world and stayed in many small boutique hotels in SE Asia, Satri House is a must stay and recommended for 100%! @Giovanni, suppose the buffalo mozzarella of the local buffalo farm has been / will be placed on your menu card....:-)...It would confirm your roots with this secret retreat on the other side of the earth...:-). Regards with lovely memories, Roger, Miranda, Noa and Lily"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
