David’s Kitchen: "INCREDIBLE"
The experience and food at this restaurant was one of my top highlights in my Southeast Asia trip. David is the most friendly, attentive restaurant owner I've ever met. The food was incredible - I still dream of the gnocchi and pumpkin soup. The service is unmatched. We were greeted with a sign for our table, a rose, and a personal email from David later that night. Most romantic, delicious food - must go!Sanak Retreat Bali: "One of the most beautiful places I have stayed in"
"We chose to come to this area of Bali with our adult children hoping for some quiet and beautiful scenery- and that is exactly what we got. This beautiful resort offers exactly this in the way the resort has been designed among a backdrop of rice paddies and mountains. This place is absolutely stunning. I loved the way the doors opened out on all sides to let the breeze in. It is best to have a villa with a balcony to capture the views- both sunrise and sunset. The service was great from all staff. The meals were good. Pool wonderful. Highly recommend for adults...young children i feel could spoil the serenity for others."Satri House: "A treasure"
We stayed at the Satri House for 4 nights. It is a former royal residence and one can experience the elegance of the former time. The hotel was recently renovated while in keeping with this charm. Our room was large and well-appointed - the rooms spread out among the beautiful grounds. The overall atmosphere is calming with a lovely dining area and reception rooms . The staff are very helpful and courteous. They genuinely want to be sure that you enjoy your stay.Sandat Glamping Tents: "Love it to the bits"
Went to Ubud for our minimoon. And It's our first time staying in a tent! We were surprised that it's actually a real tent! But amazingly, there wasnt any bugs or dust inside the room. And the room also had cool temperature due to natural wind. The view is amazing :) and The breakfast was also good!! And the lunch too, i had pasta there :) the service was also great! And they also provide shuttle bus to the downtown :)Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "A beautiful and serene resort for peace- and nature-loving travelers"
"We just returned from a 4-nights stay at the beautiful Rice & Zen resort in Doi Saket district, which is no more than 30km away from the Chiang Mai international airport. Our host, Michael, who is also a resident on the resort is very welcoming and warm. We could see that he runs this resort with great passion and drive. The property is extremely lovely. We booked the entire property for our family of 4, and we practically had the entire place to ourselves! The rooms were clean daily and well maintained, with the usual amenities expected of any upmarket resort. The only swimming pool on the resort is cleaned every morning and it feels so good to be able to dip into the pool to beat the tropical heat. And if swimming is not your cup of tea, there's always the gym and beautifully manicured garden and ponds to keep you occupied. Delicious meals are prepared and served by Maya, the resident chef. And if you're into Thai cuisine, the food is no less than scrumptious than what you can find in the restaurants. Michael and his staff will be most happy to recommend other restaurants in the vicinity should you want to venture out to try other fares. Trips to Chiang Mai city can also be arranged for a small transportation fee. Overall, we had a most pleasant and relaxing stay and we highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan city life."Tugu Lombok: "A place where time stops and moments are created"
"It was our first time in Lombok and after spending a week in Bali we couldn’t be happier with the place. We arrived to Tugu Lombok early in the morning and we were welcomed with a refreshing Natural Juice just before the staff showed us the way to our Villa. After passing through our entrance garden we opened the door to our room. It was impressive. The huge and comfortable bed in the middle of the room was just waiting for me! As I lay in the bed I notice that just in front of me is a beautiful private pool and few meters after the sea! The room was amazing with a lovely open air shower but was made me fall in love for this place was the outdoor area and facilities. The clear blue water was perfect for a swim and the hotel provided us with a complimentary Kayak and Stand up board so we could go explore the waters. Less than 100 meters from the white sand there’s a beautiful reef. It was the first time my girlfriend snorkeled and she absolutely loved it! Seeing so many colorful fishes so close to the beach was something we won’t be forgetting anytime soon. We had our daily breakfast served at the beach . The fresh fruit and the local coffee got me and the scrambled eggs were done to perfection. and even though we wanted to go explore the island we felt so good in the hotel grounds that we barely left Tugu during our stay. The main swimming pool is also a great spot to relax and we got to burn some calories from breakfast by playing Volleyball in the beach area. The design of the dining hall was impressive featuring traditional statues and a gigantic statue of a rooster on the roof. Every corner of the hotel is filled with pieces of Indonesian history. The hardest part of our stay was to leave. It seriously felt like we have stopped in time and lived a dream . Hope to be able to come back next year and live a bit more of our Indonesian dream."Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Luxury Retreat For Nature Lovers Looking For A Break From City"
If your looking for a place outside Chiang Mai with excellent hospitality, stunning views, luxury villa and a place to really kick back and unwind then Michael's place is the one. Easily my favourite place to stay in the Chiang Mai area.Locavore: "INCREDIBLE IMAGINATION USED TO CREATE THE ULTIMTE FOOD EXPERIENCE"
"This is the best dining experience ever, we had the 5 course degustation menu, one was vegetarian, so we could both share half of each course, which were accompanied by matching cocktails.......before hand we were served 5 starters...absolute taste thrills.....desserts incredible, presentation ......perfection..... combined with artistry. Service outstanding, couldn't fault one thing. Thank you Locavore for making our evening.....an unforgettable food adventure."NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Excellent safari experience in Yala National Park"
"We loved every moment of our time with Sajit, Praneeth and the boys at Leopard Safaris in Yala National Park. We stayed for 3 nights in March 2016 and would definately go back. Luxury camping at its best with one of the most comfortable beds throughout our stay in Sri Lanka, our own flushing loo and warm water shower. The food was excellent and plenty of it (it was great to have explanations on the local cuisine, it's ingredients and how to eat like the locals). The game drives were of course a highlight and our guides worked very hard to ensure we got the most from our experience - each safari was unique and it was nice to be able to explore different sections of the park. We appreciated each and every aspect of our time with Leopard Safaris and would absolutely recommend this company to anyone thinking about a stay in Yala. "The Island Lodge: "The one that the Mekong Delta has been waiting for"
The big bridge in My Tho opened the island of Thoi Soi to the world 8 years ago. Michel and Francoise has build a sanctuary at the end of this island. This should give the comfort and care to travellers to the Mekong Delta. Owners are very responsive and timely in their email correspondence making pre arranging things very smooth. The Island Lodge can arrange for pick up and drop off in Saigon. The two hour journey is pretty easy and brought us to The Island Lodge in good time. Staff are wonderful and nothing is too difficult. The pool and breakfast are amazing it's almost feels like you are in someone's house as a guest. Be warned the property is isolated and My Tho is accessible by boat or car (both can be arranged with Michel). Ton their in house driver is wonderful and speaks good English. Nice to have a cheerful driver taking us on the linger journeys. The local river, bicycle and floating markets are all activities if you care to leave the property, otherwise we relaxed by the pool and had some wonderful dinners in the main restaurant. Food options are French or Asian with an excellent wine selection. We can't wait to return.
