SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Outstanding"
Food truly outstanding! Beautiful setting , very friendly efficient staff , just everything perfect - go at sunset if you can . 5 starsRachamankha: "Breakfast, service, and spacious rooms"
"I had horrible allergies here, but I still think that this hotel deserves a 5 star rating. I loved the 3 course breakfast (probably too much food but prepared us for some long days!) Pool is huge and relaxing although we never saw any other guests in the water, and it closes early. A perk (for me) is that this hotel is designed for adults, and there's beautiful art everywhere. Housekeeping was always available, and the location is extremely close/walkable to shops, markets and Wats while maintaining a secluded feeling."The Apsara Rive Droite: "Very nice place"
Perfect location near by the river Khan, and so close the center with all shops, restaurants and bars. Warm welcome. Rooms having a very good value for money. Plus, we had a nice meal at the restaurant. Friendly staff and kind manager Christopher.Slow Villas and Spa: "Super Romantic Private Oasis"
"I am an architect and have very unique houses of our own that we rent, so I am extremely particular when it comes to staying elsewhere. We decided to escape Ubud for Gili Air for Jaime's birthday. Wow! We had a perfect romantic birthday getaway and honestly had a super hard time leaving our beautiful villa at Slow. Slow is carefully designed, with attention paid to all the small details that matter to a designer like me. It is comfy and extremely romantic and private. We felt like we were in our own private oasis. The staff was wonderful and prepared a birthday song for Jaime in 3 different Indonesian Languages. So sweet! We had a lovely massage at their stunning spa. The breakfast was yummy and a feast for the eyes and I love their handmade dishes. I have a sense of what other accommodations are available on Gili and I would never consider staying anywhere else. Huge praise for SLOW! Room Tip: I think all the rooms are equally beautiful! Rooms are prettier than in the photo>"Rachamankha: "A masterfully curated sophisticated hotel"
"I could not wait to write this review as I was quite moved with the beauty and perfection in design of this elegant property. As an interior designer I adore traveling and observing beautiful interior design around the globe. This property is one of my favorites due to the masterfully curated art and antiques that abound within it. These things When paired with lovely, harmonious architecture and landscape design makes for a keen visual and sensual experience. I have great admiration for the creators of the environment called Rachamankha. The interior spaces, including the hotel rooms are beautiful appointed by a designer who employed restraint to produce balanced, perfectly appointed spaces that evoke a feeling of affluence and history. I especially enjoyed the attention to fine details like handmade candies in dishes, and a sensual decanter of cognac in the beautiful wood paneled Library which was teeming with books of art, travel, history and design. The proximity of this hotel is also of importance. It resides on a quiet street in the old town of Chiang Mai. The old town is very quaint and filled with history and charm while most of the other hotels are located in the riotous and poorly planned concrete sprawl of the newer part of the city. The calm and serene vibe that Rachamankha exudes is greatly helped by where it is located. The staff is reserved and sweet and eager to please without making a spectacle. It's as if they personify the quiet and humble sophistication that IS this property. If you enjoy the nuances of fine taste and refinement, this is the place for you."Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Stunning Hotel, not to be missed"
We have just left this Hotel after a 3 night stay, and I wish it had been longer. It was beautifully situated at the eastern end of Inle Lake, quiet and well appointed. The staff were very friendly, nothing wa too much trouble and the huts on stilts absolutely perfect. The training school for young people is an excellent idea and prepares them for jobs in the tourist industry in the future. The food was very well prepared and interesting. Can’t fault it and would definitely return if I come back this way in the future. The Hue House: "Dinner"
Probably the best meal so far in Saigon this beautiful Vietnamaurrant sits on top of mastr building .Quite difficult to find but well worth the effort.Xcellnt food and staff very friendly price rang very reasonableLocavore: "Amazing"
"Quite a different experience of food made with local ingredients, but in a modern way. When you first enter, you can choose from the 5-course menu or 7-course menu, but don't be fooled - there are many more appetizers and desserts that they sneak into the menu. There was also a vegetarian menu, as well as some raw dishes. I don't eat raw stuff, so the waitress advised that I could substitute the items from the vegetarian menu, or other items from the 7 course menu. There is no a la carte menu. As each dish is presented, the waitress will explain briefly about the ingredients and how you are supposed to eat it. I think there are already many pictures of the dishes, so I don't have to go into them in detail. Sufficient to say, each dish is made of a complex and interesting symphony of flavours, so your tongue in for a major treat. The entire 5-course meal took 2 hours, so be sure to budget sufficient time for this experience. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. To book, you can go through the website, and be sure to book 2-3 months in advance to ensure that you can get a slot you want. The restaurant is usually fully booked. Also, if you do book - make sure that you do not get your booking wrong. They are serious about charging USD60 per person for no-shows."Reverie Siam: "Bucolic Bliss"
Following a vertigo-inducing drive through the precipitous one-lane highway from Chiang Mai to Pai we were greeted effusively by the staff at Reverie Siam. Check-in was pleasantly brisk and we were whisked away to our villa. Rather than succumbing to any ephemeral breezes of fashion the hotel's owners have brilliantly transformed this tranche of Pai into a Curacaoan hideaway, circa 1920, complete with orange cobble stone walkways, vintage street lamps and impeccable landscaping. Our villa, with its double antique doors overlooking the rugged mountain landscape and the continuously evolving dramatic skies, was intelligibly designed with a panoply of accoutrement accentuating the hotel stylistic essence. Being lit only by the crepuscular gloam the private terrace overlooking the gardens was ideal for a late-afternoon aperitif. Reverie Siam's executive chef, Dustin Joseph, perhaps more aptly described as a gastronomic savant, has created an inspiring culinary program based on his years of international food exploration. The modest-and almost insultingly inexpensive-menu features mostly local fare harmoniously fused with premium western ingredients. The wine list offers a handful of decent labels however there are plans of expansion in the near future... A veritable riparian gem amidst Thailand's northern luscious landscapeSanak Retreat Bali: "INCREDIBLE!"
"We stayed at Sanak in early January of 2015. Unfortunately it's taken me this long to review them! After arriving on a particularly rainy afternoon, we were greeted by the lovely staff in their bar/reception area. I was blown away by the incredible view that lay before me. The hotel is nestled right on top of farmed rice paddies so provided an amazing taste of the real Bali. The food was particularly impressive. The menu has a French/Balinese fusion twist; and every meal they served us was amazing quality. It's truly a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. I was a little worried about becoming ""bored"" due to the quite, but the constant massages, yoga and laying by the pool quickly calmed those nerves. One of the people in the group I stayed with even got the chance to work the rice fields with the locals, yet again adding to the authenticity! Couldn't recommend the place any more highly. Loved it!
