Manda De Laos: "Elegant dining, beautiful setting, first rate"
We wanted to have dinner at Manda de Laos, but it was sold out for a corporate event. After being convinced that our Caucasian features would prevent us from slipping in unnoticed with this predominantly Thai business group, we settled on lunch. The food was traditional Lao, informed by classic French technique. We had salad rolls, green papaya salad, roast duck, grilled fish, vegetables and plenty more. All was delicious. And the setting is magnificent. It is all open air seating, built around UNESCO Lotus Ponds with tables on little boardwalks surrounding them. When we went by to make the reservation, there was a man in a small boat floating around pruning the rushes and making everything just so. Service was excellent as was the food, the ambiance and the entire visit. We walked by later that evening to see the entire street backed up with vans dropping off the corporate guests and felt glad to have been able to get in at all. I am sure it is lit beautifully at night, but during the day, we could see the lotus ponds in all their glory. Highly recommended, but reserve early. It is pricey for Laos, but a bargain in any other part of the world.Heritage Suites: "Charming and relaxing boutique hotel"
Stayed in one of the executive bungalows for 3 nights in October and had a wonderful visit. The rooms are spacious with a steam room, and the staff are so attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend a massage at the spa (you get a 15 mins complimentary one as a guest), as well as the food and happy hour cocktails! The free airport transfer in a vintage Mercedes was a real highlight. Would stay again if coming back to Siem Reap.Sea Dance Resort: "Great value, great service"
"My girlfriend and I stayed at Sea Dance for 5 nights and had a great time. The service here is nothing short of excellent. Since it's a smaller resort, they get to know you by name and quickly learn all of your preferences. We stayed on Koh Samui for 3 weeks at 5 different places (mostly 5 star) and this place had the best service hands down! We loved the restaurant and ate every meal there during our 5 night stay. The fish tacos and all of the Thai food were outstanding. I would also recommend doing the cooking class here. It is a personalized session where you can pick the dishes you learn. We will definitely be making Thai food at home after this class! Overall, I would recommend this place."Les Maisons Wat Kor: "This is it"
We so enjoyed our time here! Phakdey Chhun is the manager- and a more kind and attentive man you could not meet. The location is a little tuk tuk ride to the the city center, but Mr. Dan is awesome! Dan took us around - bamboo train and a pagoda with Khmer Rougevties. He was insightful and kind. The pool is amazing as well as breakfast. The little village outside the resort is worth exploring- the people are so kind and the kids are delightful. Tip: Buy some cheap toys and give them to the kids they just love ittugu lombok: "A magical place with beauty in every step."
"The hotel is beautiful, with lot of different areas to explore, relax and even work. All the areas are decorated with elegance, full of art objects. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom was amazing with open air area. The hotel staff is very kind, you feel pampered every minute. "David’s Kitchen: "King David"
David, The first of many best parts of our visit was your warm greeting. Hospitality at its finest. Then the delectable dishes of magnificently presented food. as a good as it gets. Please come to Chicago & make that pumpkin soup. Each course surpassed the next. I too would partner for life with a woman who could create that chocolate mousse. Kudos to your staff. The grand finale, a man proposed to a woman on Chinese Valentines Day. Cue the applause & thank god she said yes.MesaStila: "Colonial-era dream"
This place is probably the most beautiful original place where we stayed in Indonesia. The location is just wonderful, surrounded by volcanoes and the forest, the villages around are also nice and authentic. We were based here while visiting the temples in central Java and although you need a car it's so worth it! We had booked one of their plantation villas but they upgraded us to a bigger room which was basically a house with a wonderful wooden terrace overlooking the jungle. The decor is simply amazing, it includes some antiques and follow the traditional Java style. The whole complex has been carefully renovated so that it maintains its Colonial era character and it truly does. We also had a nice walk in their coffee plantation and enjoyed the restaurant. The spa is really something else, not cheap but absolute luxury, definitely worth trying! We also found the service outstanding in every aspect, including room service. Wi-fi was also working well in the room.Tugu Bali: "It doesn’t get any better than Tugu Hotel in Bali"
"First thing that impresses you about Tugu Hotel is the warmth of the staff! You will remember the efficient hospitality and the friendly nature for days to come! The beauty, the traditional ambience and the location takes you breath away. We were unlucky as we could not have their famed breakfast or dinner at the beach due to rains but the hotel staff was more than happy to organise the same in the best way possible indoors. We had booked their best villa i.e. the PurI Le Mayeur Villa for our honeymoon and we fell in love with the same. Every corner of the villa had such beautiful art to it. The villa is surrounded by a pond which adds to the experience of being alone with your loved one. Recommend the spa services here as they have experienced massage therapists who will give you relaxation in a traditional Balinese way that you don't experience in most spas! Also the All Day Breakfast is simply delicious and so filling! Me and my wife will always look back at this as our best stay in Bali and will definitely visit again! "Nimmu House: "Paradise in Ladakh"
"I stayed in Nimmu House during a trip in Ladakh organised with a group when we had to go trekking. We stayed in Nimmu before and after our trek. This place was so peaceful and it was the perfect place to have a little rest. We stayed inside the tent in the garden which are just amazing and cosy with all facilities and much more than what you could expect after trekking in Ladakh. The inside of the house is also very special and has his own story which is quite interesting. At night, we enjoyed the bonfire and nice drinks outside all together. Food is very wonderful thanks to Maya and menu is different everyday. We had Chocolate Mouss, Chocolate Pie and also Lemon Pie which is so nice French people The atmosphere is very friendly in Nimmu house :) Manon, her husband and Audrey take good care of their customer and are always available to discuss with you about any enquiries you have regarding the services, the house or any kind of thing. I really like to thank all of them for this wonderful stay in Nimmu which was so special for me as it was my birthday and they made it so nice for me :)"Babe: "Sensational. A really special experience."
"Among all of the places I have eaten at, Babe exudes an atmosphere that rivals the most energetic of places, with the food sharing that same energy. Chef Jeff Ramsay and his team of chefs and hosts provide an experience that's unlike any other in Malaysia. The food is refreshingly inventive, executed well, and finished off with attentive explanations. I really enjoyed my time here and I recommend the place to anybody who's looking for a good time. "
