Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Ideal place to rest"
"I have thought long and hard about this place and in truth would have given a 4.5 rating, it deserves more than a 4 but not quite a 5 for me. It has been mentioned e resort is remote, this is a bonus and a hinderance depending on the length of your stay. Here more than a week and you may feel a bit trapped, a few days and an idyllic escape. There is a restaurant near the main entrance, face 7/11, turn left and walk about 120m and it is next to a Korean restaurant. Never got there ourselves but a chef on holiday went and highly recommended it. We took a taxi into Chongmon for an evening away. It must be said the food, accommodation, service and staff are very good and worth staying to eat, but it is more expensive. Just outside the hotel are a couple of taxi/travel shops. We used one for taxiing to Fishermans Village one evening and a mornings trip round the Island and found them good value. Another hotel resident had issues with them on car hire, so go carefully. We had a sea view room with pool, well worth the extra for us when you want some privacy. You also have the hotel pool and beach nearby if you want to be sociable. Beach is OK and shared with the Outrigger Hotel next door. Some rocks to snorkel round and can be a bit rough, but that's nature and varies. On Sunday afternoons a live band, quiet good, and Wednesdays an evening where guests get a few nibbles and drinks. Pay the owner is often around and a pleasant host. Faith is resident hotel liaison and good for sorting anything you need from local tips, hotel issues or advice where to visit Not far from ferry to Ko Tao and Koh Penang and also close to airport but flights do not disturb hotel. Well worth a visit and hope to return. Room Tip: All with pool were good"Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "The Best"
"Just go! It's THE Best. I would suggest spending at least a week. We only got 4 days, and it wasn't enough. I can't wait to go back. The staff, food, and rooms were all wonderful. As far as Baans go, I'd recommend Baan Tamarind. It's location is awesome, and it's very private. Also if you like to snack get some from the mainland to bring. There isn't much snack wise, and it can get expensive to buy what snacks there are. "SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "If I could give 6 stars i would"
"We had heard that the Swiss owners of this restaurant, with their Michelin star history had created something special, but this was beyond our high expectations. The setting is romantic and set off on a beautiful lake. The building was redone to hip minimalist beautiful décor. The food was out of this world. Service was impeccable. The owners have even sought out hard to find wines and serve at reasonable prices to fit any budget. The restaurant is not cheap for Myanmar standards, but a third of the price you would pay in Europe or the U.S. for food that is in a word...memorable. The chef and his lovely wife both came to the table and their watchful eye was on every detail. Although Michelin tends to be giving stars for micro-cuisine, this is a finer restaurant than most multi-Michelin star restaurants that we have frequented. You know, that feeling that each course is perfect and you don't want it to end. The only thing sad about this review, is being in Yangon we can't just go back there next week!!! This is a restaurant that you will use as a standard by which to compare others."Arumdalu: "A Treasure wrapped in natural beauty"
"My business partner and I were on our third trip to Belitung and wanted to travel down to the south side to experience the Arumdalu resort that we kept hearing about. We were greeted by Hendrik in the morning, their driver, who was prompt and very helpful in getting us down to the resort in just over an hour. My highlights of the trip was experiencing the Beach, Food, and Culture. The beach is expansive, white, and calming. The private cove allows you to truly relax and enjoy the cooler ocean breezes. You don't want to miss climbing the large granite rock on the right side of the beach to experience some great views, snap some selfies, and just be amazed at the beauty. The food was a gastronomical delight. We had the privilege of staying at the resort when the owners were present and Albert took special care in sharing with us the story of how they created each menu item, along with the specially crafted plates that are unique to each main dish. Finally, we enjoyed learning more about the culture...from hearing stories of how Belitong got it's name (Bali yang dipotong), seeing Batik be made, to the diverse flowers, fruits, and vegetables they are growing in the area. The rooms were well constructed and furnished charmingly. The plunge pool was refreshing and make sure you check out their short nature hike through the jungle on their property. The staff were always willing to help, but were never overbearing. We look forward to returning when the cultural village is up and running."Tugu Bali: "Fantastic hotel with lovely staff!"
We had a lovely stay at Tugu hotel Bali due to the special atmosphere of the hotel, which is actually a small museum of Indonesian art and history. The lovely staff of the hotel made us feel at home and they bring hospitality to the next level. We enjoyed the lush breakfast, which you can have at any time and place you like. Every Thursday night the hotel has a cultural evening, which is a must see with spectacular dancing. Next to the hotel is the Japanse restaurant Ji, which is great for diner or cocktails. At least you should have a look inside as there is an actual temple in the restaurant. Canggu itself is developing fast and new hotels are build in the area, Tugu hotel is gracefully adjusting to the new surroundings and can hopefully capture the unique atmosphere of the hotel in the future. Next time we visit Bali, we will definitely stay at Tugu hotel again! The Village House: "Perfect hideaway with great food!"
Wanted to stay there for two nights only, but after the first night we immediately booked three more nights. So lovely, so great. Really recommended if you are looking for a quiet and relaxed place. Not the cheapest, but well worth the money! VERY friendly staff and excellent food (dinner must be ordered in the afternoon). Nice pool as well and free bikes to explore the neighborhood. Would and will stay there again, if I have the chance to.Reverie Siam Pai: "Wonderful 2 night stay"
We had an amazing stay here, highly recommended from the lovely mountain view room to the lovely breakfasts and dinners. The staff were so friendly and welcoming I would not hesitate to recommend this resort.tugu bali: "It doesn’t get any better than Tugu Hotel in Bali"
"First thing that impresses you about Tugu Hotel is the warmth of the staff! You will remember the efficient hospitality and the friendly nature for days to come! The beauty, the traditional ambience and the location takes you breath away. We were unlucky as we could not have their famed breakfast or dinner at the beach due to rains but the hotel staff was more than happy to organise the same in the best way possible indoors. We had booked their best villa i.e. the PurI Le Mayeur Villa for our honeymoon and we fell in love with the same. Every corner of the villa had such beautiful art to it. The villa is surrounded by a pond which adds to the experience of being alone with your loved one. Recommend the spa services here as they have experienced massage therapists who will give you relaxation in a traditional Balinese way that you don't experience in most spas! Also the All Day Breakfast is simply delicious and so filling! Me and my wife will always look back at this as our best stay in Bali and will definitely visit again! "Tugu Bali: "3 days at the end of 2 weeks in Bali with our daughter and 2 grandchildren"
"Very interesting layout. Our suite was on the second floor with a huge Japanese style tin bath and great ocean view. Very rustic appearance, but with all modern conveniences. Our daughter's suite had a plunge pool and koi pond. The best aspects of the hotel were the perfect service, and the large grassy lawn space next to the beach. By the second day the wait staff knew us by name. Be sure to try one of their many specialty prix fixe dinners. Not much to do outside the resort, compared to other areas of Bali, but that's OK."The Tiger’s Eye: "Creativity"
Great to see Chef Timothy's creativity back. After trying The Common Tiger, good to see him in his new address at The Tiger's Eye. Different venue, but same vibe, same team around him, same effort to source locally and to shake the established dining scene in Phnom Penh. A must try for connoisseurs!Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
