Le Passe-Temps: "Little French Paradise"
"During out stay in a close lodging we came here regularly for family lunch and dining by the beach in this little paradise. Very nice food clearly ahead of anything around with variety. Green curry - my benchmark - is very well cooked. Delicious Paneng and TKK. Warm and friendly service. Kids friendly - can spend hours chasing hermit crabs next to you without bothering. Beach and horizon view at high tide is the cliche you are looking for, quietly sipping your chilled Chardonnay while waiting for your starter of fresh spring rolls, feet in the sand and sound of waves in the ears. Also spent Xmas Dinner. Nice buffet in family spirit in a welcoming atmosphere. For those who: - look for a nice lunch/dinner in Krabi far from the crowd. - have a sense of elite and exclusivity without superfluous sophistication. - are not afraid of being surrounded by (quiet and not too vocal) French. - don't mind a slight communautarian skew - are OK to pay more to get more. Still overall very reasonable."Talabgaon Castle: "Kind and welcoming! Delicious meals"
"We absolutely loved our stay in The Talabgaon Castle. And we are thankful for the hospitality of all of the caretakers of this beautiful property. Very reasonable prices and a fabulous room! We chose to do a jeep safari and guided tour of this Rajasthani village and found it to be full of beautiful and kind people, who are friendly and generous, invited us for masala chai. Palak Paneer here is incomparable. All of our meals were delicious and made fresh with home grown vegetables and fresh milk. This was our first time visiting India and our stay at the Talabgoan Castle was one of the highlights of our trip! We felt very welcome and were sad to be leaving. This was a great place for us to rest between the crowded streets of Jaipur and bright and noisy Agra. Stayed January 2017, traveled with friends"The Island Lodge: "A charming adress in Mekong"
After a vibrant week end in Saigon, the island lodge is the perfect place to be : stunning view on the mekong river, just wildness around, an amazing lodge with only 12 bedrooms, lovely decorated in the spirit of the old 'indochine', superb bathroom and a terrace on the river to relax. The swimming pool is beautiful, cristal clear, and you can enjoy a jacuzzi, a sauna and also a typical spa for great vietnamese massages. Michel and Francoise, the french owners will ensure that everything is made for you with a true sign of details and perfection. If you want to pick a unique adress along the Mekong, the island lodge is the place to be ! We left by boat to Cai be and the lodge had organized a nice pack lunch on the boat....what a pleasure !The Island Lodge: "Nice oasis to relax on the Mekong"
"Great choice for a quiet week-end in the Mekong delta, a mere 2-hour drive from HCMC. Transfer organised by hotel with excellent driver and comfortable car. Well-trained staff, good service and nice restaurant. Thank ctlinh"tugu bali: "Traditional old world Balinese style hotel"
"Drive through traditional villages and rice fields. Only 30 minutes from Seminyak. It is a lovely drive and sometimes people want to see the rice fields without spending a day driving to Ubud. Arrive at Tugu, lovely old world traditional hotel for a nice lunch. A couple of hours of your time well spent. Relaxing, peaceful and educational. "Muang La Lodge: "Relax here"
"This is luxury and the perfect place to relax, with great rooms, good food and a peaceful atmosphere just sitting in the gardens or by the pool. We stayed a few nights in upper floor riverside rooms. The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds and great balcony overlooking the river and the hot springs bathing area. Its well worth doing the 4x4 drive into the hills, as well as a guided walk around the local area which includes a pole raft across the river. The staff are friendly and helpful."Maison Polanka: "Sublime. The perfect balance in every respect"
Maison Polonka blew me and my friends away. Very rarely do you walk away from a hotel stay speechless at the friendliness, the serenity, the service, and the ability to go above and beyond. From the gardens to the pool, as well as the stunning rooms, Maison Poloka has nailed it. But beyond that, the service was extraordinary, from the first pick up, through to helping get a flight delayed so we would not miss it (!!). Yes, that happened. Attentive without being smothering; friendly and absolutely genuine. I would normally keep such a place a secret, for fear of it getting swamped and me never being able to stay there again - but when it's this good the world needs to know about it and they deserve every booking they get.Pindaya Farm House: "A charming farmhouse"
Unlike many popular and expensive hotels in Myanmar with extravagant yet very poor in taste decorations, Pindaya farmhouse stands out with cozy and warm ambience. No TV, no hot shower but that’s ok... it’s more natural that way... It fits exactly for people who look for different tastes when they travel. Farm hosts are not only extremely hospitable, but very good in making meals. We are treated with beautiful breakfast of variety of farm grown fruits & Shan noodle. It’s almost like visiting a friend’s house for a night. It was during high festive season in Myanmar of Lighting Thadingyut festival when I was there. Many people make lanterns out of local Shan paper. Night sky was filled with floating paper lanterns. I can’t express how much I enjoyed staying there for a night. I wished I had more time to stay there a bit longer to do some cycling among those beautiful valleys, canola fields and wine yards. Needless to say how pleasant highland weather was. It was a memorable stay, it was an instant love and joy.Glenburn Tea Estate: "Outstanding"
"We stayed 3 nights for a family birthday celebration. We were 5 adults. It was a wonderful respite after travelling the rough roads of Sikkim. I agree with the earlier reviews and experiences and won't repeat the wonderful activities available. We did the walk to the river which we really enjoyed. On arrival (after being met with cool refreshing flannels and homemade lemonade) I lay down on a wooden bench by river and within seconds a lovely man appeared with pillow and large cushion for bench. I enjoyed a snooze while lunch on the barbecue. Wonderful care and our needs were met before we realised we had a need. Lovely lovely people. We chose not to dine communally but enjoyed wonderful candlelit family dinners on the terrace of our bungalow, served by a lovely gentle caring man. The drive into Darjeeling is long, bumpy and slow. I would recommend you don't waste a day of your precious time in Glenburn. Rather spend two nights in Darjeeling before or after Glenburn. We would have liked at least another night in Glenburn. It really is worth the journey in."Anopura: "Comfort and luxury in compact"
"I was there at Anopura on 23rd March. I got down at Jaipur and took a road drive to Anopura and I was really wondering on where am I going.. After 2 hrs of drive unknown roads, without any signboards and no destination found in GPS, I was really hard.. But just as the name states, it's a part of secret resorts, it's locations is indeed a real secret. After all that long and wague journey, there awaited a lovely home away from home ""Anopura"" Excellent place for family and friends outing.. Excellent service, great ambience and good food.. Spotting few wildlife around the place is an added advantage. We spot few foxes.. I cannot finish my review without mentioning about ""Lathika"" they have.. A real smart, friendly and loving dog.. Lathika just took us for a morning trekk, without any staff assistance. Se even opens the door for us.. Humm.. A must stay place if you are traveling to Jaipur.."
