Rachamankha: "Perfect honeymoon hotel"

Review by: jamie m | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed here during our honeymoon in June 2015 and it was amazing, we loved every minute The hotel is situated in its own grounds so was very quiet and relaxing, when we were at the pool we were the only people so it was like having our own private pool The room was lovely and the bed was comfy, the decor was modern but traditional at the same time, also flip flops, umbrellas are provided The shower was powerful and the Molton brown toiletries were a nice touch Whilst we were here we had a tasting meal and the food was delicious, the coriander salad was amazing, we also had a traditional Thai massage which was great and set the relaxing tone for our stay here The hotel is within walking distance to the town and the temples near by but you can just jump in a Tuk Tuk if you fancy, by the restaurant they have little business cards with a map on them incase your driver isn't sure where to go so I just kept this in my purse whilst out and about I would night recommend going to the elephant nature park of staying in Chiang mai, it was the highlight of our trip"

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Tranquility Base"

Review by: BillPurvis | Source: Trip Advisor
"I stayed with my wife and son for a couple of nights on one of the floating tents recently. Our hosts had arranged an extra bed for our son and a lovely bouquet of flowers for my wife's birthday. The 4 Rivers team really enjoy making your stay as comfortable and unique as they can. Swimming in the river straight from your lodge makes you feel like you're in the middle of a jungle. Do get up early and listen to the dawn chorus. The trip to the fishing village and collecting clams in a mangrove swamp is great. There are bugs around at night but they are dealt with. The management did everything they could to make arrangements when our plans changed at short notice. A big thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable. "

Tugu Malang: "Excellent service!!!"

Review by: Jens L | Source: Trip Advisor
"The Tugu hotel is a hotel, but at the same time it's also a museum. We stayed here for 2 nights and we had an amazing experience. Because of the low season we could choose our room. The staff was incredible. No question was ever too much to answer and everything was arranged with a smile. Every staff member knew our name and the small talks during breakfast and dinner gave our stay a personal touch. When you stay at the hotel you get a free tour of the hotel/museum and a good explanation of all the artifacts. For us this was a nice bonus, because it helps you understanding some of the history of Java. There are spa facilities and we've booked the 4 hour couples retreat. It was very relaxing: massage, bath with fresh rose petals, scrubbing, manicure, pedicure, washing en drying our hair, tea,... and after all that (really took 4 hours) there was a 4 course dinner, again with some personal touches (all included in the price). What can I say about the food? One word: super! There are so many things to choose from for breakfast and dinner. Local food, street food, western food, chinese food,... Last but not least is the Tea Time Experience in the afternoon. Every day between 16pm and 17pm (or 18pm) you can enjoy a nice cup of tea with fresh made Indonesian snacks. If you stay at the hotel you should certainly try it once. Kept all things in mind this hotel is one of our top 3 of all the hotels we've been in the world! I certainly hope to visit this hotel in the future during one of our next journeys. Thanks to the staff for making this a very pleasant stay. Joni & Jens (J&J)"

Reverie Siam: "Wonderful Boutique Hotel"

Review by: jakehongkong | Source: Trip Advisor
"Stayed here for 4 nights, second floor mountain view. two swimming pools beautiful gardens wonderful FnB... the 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai was magical... like arriving in Shangri La They had two wonderful musicians playing in the lounge when we had our evening cocktails. Such attention to detail in the design. Somebody has paid an awful lot of attention to this resort, I only wish I could have met the manager to thank him in person. No exaggeration to say one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was fantastic, the cappuccino cinnamon toast was the best in the world. Cannot recommend highly enough Top Tip... grab a beer and head down to the gazebo by the river with your book and just chill out! Don't rely on Google Maps to get you here... it directs to through town to the other side of the river... the hotel is 1km down the street next to the police station"

Labyrinth: "Unique dishes and nice décor"

Review by: justinlim1 | Source: Trip Advisor
The dishes were a unique blend (and play) of local cuisine with out-of-box ideas. The squid and saffron bak chor mee was delightful, and the tiger prawn risotto was amazing. Would love to be back again

Jing’s Residence: "Historical Treat in the old town of Pinyao"

Review by: Stuart L | Source: Trip Advisor
"As soon as we stepped in the door we knew that this was going to be a wonderful experience. Imam the Manager gave us a warm welcome. Every room is unique and in traditional style set around numerous courtyards with wonderful decorative detail. Breakfast is waitress served by professional staff at all levels. There is a menu with a wide range of choices. Afternoon tea is served with a selection of treats. Attention to detail is given and nothing is too much trouble. A wonderful stay and a wonderful memory of Pingyao."

Inle Princess Resort: "Perfect balance between East and West"

Review by: ANGELAHOL | Source: Trip Advisor
"We loved our two nights at the Inle Princess and wish we'd had longer. Approaching the hotel in a canoe with a local oarsman foot-rowing was the start to a wonderfully relaxing and romantic stay. It is always tricky getting the balance between traditional style and atmosphere on one hand and modern needs on the other. I think they get it just right. The hotel is a series of traditional Burmese wooden houses with verandas, tiny gardens and an additional outdoor shower cabin. We had a lakeside view with wonderful sunsets. It is all beautifully landscaped with paths (lit by small lights at night) winding through trees. There's a pool and a spa where you can get a treatment and enjoy another stunning view. To our surprise there were no insects, apparently they come with the better weather. None even around lights in the garden. August turned out to be not a bad month to go - very few tourists, no bugs and (apart from an occasional downpour) good weather. All the staff were smiley and helpful and the whole place had a peaceful atmosphere. Our room and bathroom were large. The wash area was tucked away separately so the bathroom was basically a large room with a tub in the middle. The lighting was quite dim,so anyone putting on make-up would have a challenge not looking like a painted clown. Contrarily the curtains were quite thin so light streamed in once the sun was up. Large bed was very comfortable. We only ate Asian food and it was pretty good. Stick to cocktails, forget wine. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake will leave an enduring picture in my mind. I could have done without canned music which clashed with the atmosphere but I think it was only breakfast and in the bar. A day on the lake visiting floating islands and local craft-making was a delight. We had a tropical downpour and ponchos and umbrellas were immediately produced. We were on a tight schedule mixing work and holiday so couldn't have the 3 or 4 days we would have liked. For charm and a distinctive atmosphere this hotel deserves a good rating."

David’s Kitchen: "True definition of culinary experience in Chiang Mai"

Review by: 205PAT2014 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Spending the evening at David's Kitchen was a total experience. - Food was unbelievably heaven-ish: I had Wagyu Braised Beef Cheek, which as a special menu. - Ambience was impeccable. Nicely decorated. Classy taste of interior design. - Hospitality was top knotch. Conversation with David, Khun Prom and staffs were both entertaining and insightful. If I had more time, I would have loved to try out aperetivo in the Red Room, which will be soon be under renovation, I guess. Culinary experience in Chiang Mai can hardly get better, if at all!"

Rachamankha: "Perfect: it’s quiet and serene and I did not want to leave"

Review by: DavidPres | Source: Trip Advisor
So beautiful and elegant in every way. I have stayed in many wonderful hotels and this was my favorite. The rooms are comfortable and so well appointed you hate to turn out the lights. Great beds, linens and towels. A pool to spend a life by and a restaurant with the best breakfast and lunch I had anywhere in Thailand. All capped off by wonderfully friendly and instantly helpful staff.

Flower Island Resort: "Très bien"

Review by: Browning B | Source: Trip Advisor
