Jing’s Residence: "A Very Special Hotel"

Review by: Anne D | Source: Trip Advisor
We had a wonderful night at Jing’s Residence. Our room was lovely, very clean, with special attention to detail. We had an excellent dinner there and a very nice breakfast the next morning. We only wish we were able to stay one more night to take advantage of everything they offered.

Tugu Bali: "Amazing start to Bali trip"

Review by: RZ_in_SD | Source: Trip Advisor
"We spent four nights in Hotel Tugu and loved every moment. The service was exceptional--unfailingly friendly, on point, and accommodating. Highlights included: taking a surf lesson (the beach is just outside the hotel doorstep); eating breakfast including lattes, fruit smoothies, and a mix of western and Indonesian / Balinese dishes out on the patio overlooking the ocean; enjoying the beautiful ocean view & private bath in our Rejang Suite; the cooking class + market visit; and cooling off in the beautiful pool. One downside is that Canggu is somewhat hard to access. We found it impossible to request an Uber in the area, or even a Bluebird taxi, as the local taxi cartel seemed to have intimidated them and we were only offered to be picked up a few blocks away. In the hot & humid weather carrying luggage around is more unpleasant than it would otherwise be. But if you have your own hired driver and/or feel comfortable using the locals / drivers procured through the hotel, then this isn't a problem. There is enough to do within walking distance of Hotel Tugu--not to mention enough things going on at the hotel itself--that I would recommend it without hesitation if you are looking for a beautiful hotel on the ocean with some nice cultural touches included."

Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Just perfect!"

Review by: Regis1972 | Source: Trip Advisor
Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "and RELAX"

Review by: ANDYGOODALL | Source: Trip Advisor
"My wife and I stayed for 5 nights in Dec 2017. The location is beautiful and the atmosphere very relaxing. ACCOMMODATION - 5 stars. Very large comfortable beds. Natural products used in the furnishings/floor. BOSE sound dock a nice touch. Tea facilities would have been nice. Large airy rooms. Wi-Fi worked well, but could only get it in the room/veranda. I would have liked to have received it by the pool (not a big deal). POOL - The pool is the best we have ever been too (great sunset view). RESTAURANTS - We ate in both the main restaurant and seafood restaurant. The main restaurant is a beautiful large wooden structure, local in design. The food here was very good; however it did lack some atmosphere/ambience. Some soft chill out Indian lounge/retreat music would have been perfect, but no music at all, made the room feel quite big and empty. The seafood restaurant was in our opinion overpriced for what we received. My Tiger prawns (£16) were served rather bland and accompanied with broccoli and carrots (hardly the Indian cuisine experience I was hoping for). Beers/Wine prices are NOT shown on the menu and are EXPENSIVE so be warned. Not sure why there is no transparency with this (maybe it's a Kerala law). SERVICE/STAFF - Outstanding FACILITIES - We had the pleasure of going on a half day Spice Hill Plantation/Nature tour. We highly recommend doing this tour. Indian nature at its very best......A MUST DO !!! My wife committed herself to yoga every morning which she thoroughly enjoyed and also completed a TA meditation course, which she also thoroughly enjoyed, given by the founder of the establishment Alistair (very nice genuine man). GROUNDS - The gardens, pool and beach are all very well maintained and the location is perfect for unadulterated relaxation. The sea was warm and perfect to swim in. Don't miss the sunset !!! SUMMARY - In short the only thing we would change, would be to add some suitable music/ambience into the main restaurant, a bit more imagination with the cuisine in the fish restaurant and some transparency with the alcohol. Apart from that we thought the place was outstanding and we will have no hesitation in returning. It's a perfect place to unwind; but if you do decide to stay here, do yourself a favour and make the effort to venture out to experience the real India/Kerala."

Yandabo Home: "Way beyond expectations"

Review by: mfranks911 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Yandabo is probably best known for the Treaty signed in 1826 which ended the first Anglo Burmese War as well as its famous clay pottery made in an old traditional way from river clay. Yandabo Home is an excellent stop on the ferry journey from Bagan to Mandalay or vice versa. We stayed two nights into Christmas and had a most enjoyable stay. The ""resort"" consists of 12 spacious rooms with all mod cons. Teak floors, painted grey and cream walls and an excellent bathroom consisting of a large walk in shower, double sinks, a large bed and plenty of space. There is a safe and mini-bar but no TV or WiFi. All the rooms are on the upper decking and the dining area is lower down. Food was surprisingly good and we had the Christmas Eve menu on our second night. This was very good and the kitchen had gone to a lot of trouble to prepare this and with plenty of drinks too! We were very fortunate to meet the owner, Dr Aung Myat Kyaw, a charming man and found out that Yandabo Home is actually part of a number of hotels owned including three in Ngapali Beach as well as one of the cruise boat companies plying the river. The village itself is interesting and there is plenty to see sitting back watching the river and birdlife. Highly recommended."

David’s Kitchen: "Excellent Birthday Dinner in Chiang Mai"

Review by: Brian C | Source: Trip Advisor
"My girlfriend, Allie, and I went to David's kitchen to celebrate her birthday. We wanted to go somewhere very nice and make the night special and David's Kitchen was an obvious choice from all of the 5 star reviews on Trip Advisor. When we pulled up to the restaurant we were immediately greeted and escorted in. Every employee we passed on the way in wished Allie a happy birthday. When we sat down, there was a happy birthday card and a named place card for us. The service was absolutely amazing. I did not feel like the waiters were hovering in anyway but as soon as I needed something, someone was there to help. David himself made rounds around the restaurant and had private conversations with each of the guests. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with him and hearing his stories and he even gave us recommendations for restaurants and activities in other countries that we were going to visit on our trip. We got the highly recommended pumpkin soup and it was out of this world! Really do try it if you go to David's! We both got the braised beefs cheeks and it was melt in your mouth tender. I think I would get something different if I went again but it was still a very good dish. Finally, for dessert we got a delicious chocolate lava cake and the employees came out to sing Allie Happy Birthday. It was a great night and was made very special by David and his staff. Absolutely worth the price. (Book reservations early because they go fast!)"

Dewakan: "Well paced degustation menu, creative"

Review by: leila1011 | Source: Trip Advisor
My husband and I took an American guest to Dewakan. We chose the 11 course tasting menu. I was looking forwards to being delighted, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is quiet, and comfortable and we were able to enjoy each course and exchange views on the myriad of tastes exploding in our mouths. I especially loved the Yoghurt & Roselle, which I thought was so well done since each taste emerged one after another. The explanation given by the maitre d' on the ingredients and how to eat each dish added to the enjoyment of the evening. It was easy to converse, given the wonderful presentation. I did not care too much for the duck, which although delicious, was a little rich for my preference. The red snapper was very good, and a little less saltiness may have brought it up to the level of sublime. Anyway, we had a wonderful evening and enjoyed the experience tremendously!

Tandjung Sari: "Perfect for Honeymooners"

Review by: Philadelphiakohsamu | Source: tripadvisor.com
My husband an I came to the beautiful place as a gift from my father in law, as he had stayed here before. We were so pleasantly surprised, the place was fantastic. The room was clean and had relaxing day beds inside and out the front of the cottage we even had out own private hut to relax in. The room was very clean and we felt very comfortable, the shower was outdoors. The best part was the beautiful gardens that surrounded us, the restaurant is on the beach, also the day spa at the hotel is the best I have ever been to. We cant wait to return.

Rachamankha: "Best stay in Chiang Mai"

Review by: liezl799 | Source: Trip Advisor
"This was one of the most peaceful hotels that I have ever stayed in, it feels like a retreat where the soul is nourished away from the everyday hustle and bustle. The architecture, gardens and decor are amazing. In the morning someone comes to cut the grass with a pair of garden scissors instead of a lawnmower so the peace is just never disturbed. We had lovely meals in the restaurant and enjoyed every send of our visit and we will visit Thailand again for the third time just to stay in this hotel again."
