Satri House: "Perfect base for visiting Luang Prabang"
Two friends and I have just completed a trip in Laos which included four nights in Luang Prabang, where we stayed at the Satri House. It is an amazing property which provides the perfect base for visiting LP. The grounds are gorgeous, and immaculately maintained. The rooms are spacious, with everything one could want in a 4-star-plus hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The restaurant is excellent, serving well-prepared Lao dishes along with European cuisine. The hotel is about 12 minutes by foot from the principal sights of LP and the famous Night Market. If you are planning a visit to Luang Prabang, you could not find better accommodation than the Satri House.Rachamankha: "Amber from Seattle"
Beautifully designed boutique hotel on the edge of Old Town. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Restaurant has great food at good prices. I would not hesitate to return here for my escape to serenity in Chiang Mai.David’s Kitchen: "The best restaurnt we’ve ever visited"
"My husband and I love trying out the local fancy restaurants when on holiday, but fear we might have peaked at David's Kitchen! We still have 2 weeks of our Thailand adventure but doubt anything could better our amazing night this evening. The transport is lovely, private AC transport in a nice car. Extremely warm welcome from the very lovely staff. Lots of personal touches on the table, e.g. our names, an anniversary card - there is so much thought and detail given to each table! The lovely owner, David, is walking around all night chatting to the guests. He does this all 6 nights the restaurant is open, so must love his job!! He has really interesting stories to tell so definitely engage him in conversation :) The menu is amazing, we spent a good 20 minutes deciding what to eat as it all sounded so good! The cocktail menu is extensive and includes a fab mixture of classics and signatures, and are extremely well priced. The food was amazing too and very fast service, but we never felt rushed. Even though we were both so full we had to squeeze in dessert as we were enjoying the food so much! We asked David about his chef and were kindly invited into the kitchen to meet him! We've now got a great picture with David and all the team we'll never forget :) And the icing on the cake was being presented with a beautiful bunch of roses to celebrate our anniversary :) the evening, food and service was absolutely fantastic and perfect. It was one of the best nights of our lives and will certainly not be forgotten! Thank you to David, your lovely wife and chef, and all of the team for a perfect evening."The River Resort: "Fabulous location – charming hotel"
Great location, right on the side of the Mekong with two inifnity pools. Charming staff, lovely well-appointed rooms, not really much more to say. REstaurant probably a little pricey, but not unreasonably so for a western class resort..Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "A fantastic family experience. Thank you Leopard Safaris!"
This was brilliant. It was just 2 nights out of a long trip for our family but definitely one of the absolute highlights. We are a family of 4 with a 13 year old girl and 17 year old boy and we all loved everything about the camp and the game drives. Jeeps were perfect for game viewing and small enough that it was just our family in the jeep with a driver and a guide. We went on 4 game drives and saw heaps - leopard on 2 occasions, crocs, lots of elephant, eagles and so much more. They took us to the uncrowded blocks of the reserve, so you weren't fighting against lots of other jeeps to get to see the animals. It felt very personal, and different. The camp and tents were fab - all the mod cons and very comfortable whilst still giving a feeling of being out in the bush. We had been worried about being a bit bored in the middle of the day but the the game drives take up a large part of the time and the day just flew by. The new swimming pool will be a great addition. All the guides were superb - a fantastic family experience. Thank you Leopard SafarisTugu Bali: "Most Unique Property in Bali"
"A very lovely boutique hotel, very authentic and luxurious, elaborately decorated property with lots of Balinese details in every corner. Excellent food, a very enchanting garden, attentive and caring staff who respect guests privacy. Service is impeccable and closest to perfect you will find. Pristine Canngu beachfront at the hotel is ideal for surfers and great sunset spot. If you are a traveller looking for a truly unique Bali experience, this is the place to have it. I would highly recommend Hotel Tugu without any hesitation or reservation."Dewakan: "An Excellent International Standard Dining with a great experience of local recipes"
Although the journey into the restaurant is a bit difficult to find, however, I am guarantee you will not regret on the quality of the dining experience to another level. This restaurant has been using a lot of local ingredients which the Chef himself, source all these around the entire Malaysia. Normally, we experience these ingredients through the local cuisine; but here at Dewakan, the Chef has been improvising these ingredients to a high level of dining standard, which is I can call it as Fine Dining standard. Please do not expecting some food like caviar or fois gras, it is all about for you to experience the Malaysia food, a place I call home.misool: "Mind Blowing"
"This would have to be the best overall holiday experience of my life incredible diving and snorkelling a resort that doesn't just talk ECO but walks it in a big way lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting, you don't want to leave. Fabulous staff who really look after you ( get a massage) the food is excellent and they will do something special if you don't fancy anything on the menu. Room Tip: the rooms on the side of the island where the restaurant is save walking. "The Island Lodge: "“Thank you Michel"
"Really enjoyed our two night stay with Michel and Francoise. This place is exactly what it says on the packet - a quiet retreat outside HCM. We tried the spa (massage) and the morning bike ride with Michel. Really enjoyed both. If l had one wish it would have been for a couple of stable classics on the menu - maybe a burger and a pasta. But the food was great so no issues there :) FYI. Car transfers took 2 hours from the city."Reverie Siam Pai: "Tropical idyll"
"We stayed here for 3 nights during a bit of a tour of Thailand. The hotel was absolute perfection. Arriving following the 3 hour bus trip from Chiang Mai, we were greeted with a lovely cold juice and shown to our room, which was beautiful. Overlooking the natural looking swimming pool and mountains beyond, the room had a tranquil feel to it with high end furnishings and a roll top bath. Food was fantastic and served in the small restaurant overlooking the gardens. A special mention has to go to the staff; service was second to none, while still relaxed. Being on the outskirts of Pai meant that it was nice and quiet, but the hotel ran a shuttle when you needed it, so it was easy to get in and out. A secluded paradise that we'd happily return to."
