Maison Polanka: "Escape the Maddening Crowd"
"Siem Reap has 1000's of visitors and hotel beds. Maison Polanka is by contrast an oasis in this tourist buzz. Great landscape, pool, rooms, food and service. Their wonderful staff arranged a fantastic guide who taught us a great deal about Khmer history and culture and pointed us in the right direction for shopping and dining out (tho dining in was perfectly wonderful). The only flaw in our stay -- we should have stayed 5 or 6 nights, so that we might have travelled further afield into Cambodia -- visiting Tonle Sap for example. We mentioned it was our husband's birthday, and the loveliest cake appeared, with a card signed by all the staff, all ""on the house."" Pure magic. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Les Maisons Wat Kor: "This is it"
We so enjoyed our time here! Phakdey Chhun is the manager- and a more kind and attentive man you could not meet. The location is a little tuk tuk ride to the the city center, but Mr. Dan is awesome! Dan took us around - bamboo train and a pagoda with Khmer Rougevties. He was insightful and kind. The pool is amazing as well as breakfast. The little village outside the resort is worth exploring- the people are so kind and the kids are delightful. Tip: Buy some cheap toys and give them to the kids they just love itVilla Mathis: "Un séjour extraordinaire"
Stayed September 2016, traveled with family"Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A perfectly relaxing idyll with fabulous staff and great food"
We stayed here for 8 days in early January & loved it. The resort is situated on a very quiet beach with golden sands & has amazing views of the sunset every evening. The pool is large & there are plenty of (very comfortable) loungers & the grounds are pretty and well maintained. There are 2 restaurants which offer different & delicious menus each day. The rooms are large, comfortable & immaculate & I really liked the half open bathroom. I had one spa treatment which was reasonably priced & very relaxing - I also appreciated the free ayurvedic consultation beforehand. We also took an evening cruise along the back waters on a houseboat organised by the hotel - we were the only people on a quite large boat so that was lovely. What really makes the resort stand out is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - they were lovely all the way through but particularly on my husband's 50th birthday when they decorated his breakfast table with flowers, presented him with a bouquet, presented him with a personalised birthday cake (& the whole team turned out to sing happy birthday) & wrote happy birthday in flowers on the bed - all of this for free & without my requesting it. It made the day & the holiday so very special - we were really touched & very appreciative.Manukan Island Resort: "Beach villa"
Wonderful refitted rooms, completed in January 2017. Private beach and pool for residents. Delicious food. The resort staff cannot do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. Day trips snorkeling and scuba diving available.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Excellent place to relax"
4 Rivers Floating lodge was an excellent place to relax. Calm, peaceful and blissful. A large variety of activities, from kayaking, jungle trekking etc. The staff and manager were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely visit again.Inle Princess Resort: "Classic Architecture. Best Service."
"It was my first time at Inle Lake and I selected to stay here because my Myanmar friend used to talk about it as the resort also runs a non-profit organisation called 'Inle Heritage', so I think there is a good sign of people's minds here. The location is in the beginning of Inle Lake, so very peaceful. You have to take a long-tail boat farther to explore the lake. The architecture is in local style and each unit is large, so you definitely have plenty of space to enjoy, esp. when you come in a group. They have souvenir shop which sells local products and books. I was eager how those products are made and they toured me around a little area where they showed how local people live and products they make for a living. Quite interesting. The room is beautiful and you can see the sunset from your room. Morning time is SUPER calm. You will get recharged here for sure. The best thing must be FOOD. The chefs cook not only local Inle or Myanmar food, but also international menus / European menus and they did a great job. I personally like the baguette served hot for every meal. Also, tomatoes here are very fresh. I saw them planting on a floating garden around the lake. Other facilities like swimming pool, lobby, communal spaces are big. There are recreational areas around the resort. Staff members are caring. They accompany you for whatever you want. With the smile on their faces, they are genuinely generous. I've heard many of them working here for 15-20 years. Last, they have their own jetty in which you board the long-tail boat to anywhere in the lake. The jetty is well-designed. I am considering revisiting this resort again with family in the wintertime."Tugu Bali: "Heaven in Paradise"
Nice to get away to Canggu and enjoy a more relaxing environment than Krazee Kuta Previously stayed with Tugu in Malang and on Lombok....never disappoint to enjoy the Tugu experience wherever I travel in Indonesia Great time againtugu malang: "Luxury and services are beyond expectation"
"I was there only for a day and wish to come back soon. The room was impecable, perfect with a touch of personal welcome in a card. Our room facing the front hotel but not noisy at all. The bedsheet was super clean and it was a standard five hotel services and facility. The amenities was not much but enough. Small pool but convenient enough for children. Good selection of breakfast with some a la carte menu. The hospitality is unbelievably super friendly. A typical warm small size five star hotel that you would never experience in a big busy hotel. This hotel was beautiful in a an outdated way, and you may find it quite spooky at the back part, but for some, it may be the point of attraction. "Talabgaon Castle: "A night with the maharajah"
Prior to my departure to India I went on their website to see what to expect and what I saw was very appealing and filled me with great expectations. These were more than realised as the reality of the place is quite simply enchanting. First there is the imposing and stylish and elegant archway that you have to go through, then the splendour of the building reveals itself with in front of it a manicured garden. After that it is sheer enjoyment of the senses as you go through courtyards, reading rooms with imposing chandelier. I felt an incredible sense of peace there helped in that respect by the most exotic room that I have ever stayed something of the Arabian nights. The staff is locally employed and will do their best for you. The food is nice. Walking through the garden it was a pleasant surprise to encounter an emu. Whilst there I would recommend the camel ride going through the village and surroundings as it gives you the chance to be up close with the villagers who will extend to you the most enthusiastic of welcome. I left this place the following day with only one regret and that is that I would have wanted to stay there a bit longer.
