Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Paradise on earth"
"Me and my partner booked GBBR initially for only four days as we hadn't been to the island before but we got a recommendation from a local yoga teacher so we decided to give it a go. After we took a long boat from Kuraburi, we arrived to a pristine little bay welcomed by Golden Buddha team who immediately made us feel at home and showed us around the absolutely stunning resort. It's paradise! We've never seen a beach so long, clean and empty and sea so beautiful! The sand may not be white but this definitely is the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. The resort is also absolutely stunning, with a beautiful restaurant and gorgeous breakfast every morning, drinking fresh coconut juice while overlooking the sea :) Saturday nights are magical, the resort organised a bonfire on the beach with cocktails and then the most delicious seafood BBQ. The accommodation consists of different styled wooden houses, each of them with a unique design and hidden around so you always feel like you're alone in nature. What makes the whole experience even more special is the whole team at the resort, and especially Massi and Teresa , who manage the resort and took care of absolutely every single request we had and always made us feel like special guests. So the initial 4 days ended up being three weeks and we didn't want to leave even then."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "How big, how blue, how beautiful"
"It was a really special experience to stay at this restored turn-of-the-previous-century mansion. There's not a lot more to write about its significance as a building, or the amazing history within its walls that other reviewers have not mentioned, so I'll concentrate on the rooms. Not only is the building an exquisite example of heritage conservation at its finest, the boutique hotel they've managed to operate in this amazing building is tasteful and thoughtfully executed. Comfortable but traditionally designed, the rooms are a true oasis after a day of walking around George Town. Breakfast service was prompt and friendly. The food, while actually not as exciting as the true street fare Penang is famous for, was top quality. Lovely staff, one helped me out big time by lending me a wifi dongle they had for the duration of my stay. I stayed at CFZ Mansion for two nights and I hope that the next time I return, I will be able to stay longer . Stayed December 2016, traveled solo"Satri House: "Wonderful hotel, highly recommended!"
I staied for about 6 nights at Satri house and more or less everything was just perfect! The house is beautiful with wonderful little interior design details. The garden is amazing and the rooms are lovely. I had a terrasse and each day at 4 o'clock, I listened to the monch's praying and chanting- great! Breakfast was really tasty. The staff was so lovely and helpful. The hotel rates are not cheap but definitly worth the money!Locavore: "VERY fresh and different"
"My BFF and I went straight to this restaurant for lunch after landing in BAli at 10am. Took us about 45 min to get to Ubud and we walked over from Sens Hotel and Spa to get there in time for our 1pm lunch reservation. Took us about 2.5 hours to finish the multitude of courses! The food was different and oh so very fresh. First time I had deep fried tempura style leaves and other assortments of dishes. I have tried Andre in Singapore before but the way locavore did the dishes were so different. The herb they seem to used allot is Tamarind, it was featured in quite a few of their dishes. Their cocktails were also nice. My friend had the ROJAK cocktail and boy it really did taste of rojak but in a super refreshing way. there are 2 menus only to choose from, either Vegetarian OR Meat & Fish. :) Price difference is about 100K IDR between both."Mathis Retreat: "Lovely boutique hotel – perfect hideaway"
"I stayed here for a week and I miss it everyday! For the first part of the week, it was me and a girlfriend who came to Ubud to get away from the city, do a little exploring and do some yoga. We weren't sure if we wanted to stay in Ubud the whole time or go somewhere else in Bali, but after two nights, we extended our stay. One of our favourite things was having breakfast looking at out the private rice fields every morning, it was so relaxing. The pool had the perfect view. The hotel had a really good balance between a tranquil relaxed vibe, without being sleepy, and had some really good tunes throughout the day by the pool too (I ended up asking them for their playlist). The hotel was just a 10 minute scooter ride into town, which meant everything was really accessible without it being crazy all the time. My friend ended up going home early and I stayed on for an extra 2 days. The staff took such good care of me. And as a solo female traveler, safety is extremely important. They was so lovely and even taught me some Indonesian. The GM was super lovely and very hands on, she would come by and chat with the guests, without being intrusive. It was such a wonderful trip and the hotel was a huge part of it. Seriously, great rooms, great resto (really good food!), great view and great staff. I would definitely come back!"Villa Song Saigon: "Old School Elegance"
"Wow - what a place. Right on the river. To catch a ride to the heart of District 1, there is no shuttle bus. There is a shuttle boat - a speed boat. You ride up the river, past all the barges and little tugboats - past all the major waterfront development as you approach the heat and noise of Ho Chi Minh City. Villa Song is located in an exclusive old part of the city, tucked away on its own - by the water. We had a room overlooking the river. It was amazing to look out and see a container barge floating by so close. The restaurant is world class in my opinion. The chef has some great ideas about ingredients and presentation. The pool is a bit small and cramped but who cares. This is Saigon, baby. The staff were friendly and professional. We had a late checkout - no problem. The experience overall was flawless. Highly recommended. "Mathis Retreat: "Sejour à Ubud"
Charming hotel, great welcome, great food, great view of the rice fields, very good advice to organize tours excursions, away from downtown, quiet. Management speaking French. To make the discovery by bike and rice fields of UbudInle Princess Resort: "Beautiful Hotel"
This is a lovely hotel and Lake Inle is a beautiful and fascinating place. The main reason I wanted to write a review is that the hotel now has a swimming pool which has not been mentioned before. It was just completed as we were staying there and we were allowed to swim in it even though construction of changing rooms is on going. The pool is at the back of the hotel looking on to fields and adds yet another reason to stay in this wonderful place. Lake view rooms are very special allowing sunset watching from one's own deck.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Back to the past"
"As i thought it was one of my most beautiful few days what i spent in a historical mansion!! Those indigo blue walls and the whole spirit of the hotel it's just amazing!! Perfect choices of breakfast...nice athmospheric restaurant with french taste of kitchen!! A kind of feeling if you 'd stay in a museum! Highly recommended to those who likes history and beauty!"Villa Song Saigon: "Superb Hotel"
"We spent a couple of nights here at the end of our trip and it really was excellent. The staff were first class and extremely helpful at all times. The free boat rides into central Saigon are really useful and allow you to explore the sites. Rooms are really well designed and very comfortable. Pool is lovely. Food was good but on the expensive side but all the restaurants in the area are quite dear as the hotel is in the expat area of town. Would highly recommend it though"
