Stayed November 2016, traveled as a couple"tugu malang: "Great experience 5 stars hotel"
"So calm and quiet, not busy place. You can choose to relax by swim or just walk around in this hotel. The romantic bed and awsome Java room design, makes you feel like in the Keraton. Very very recomended hotels in Malang "The Island Lodge: "Mekong trip or Saigon escape? This is your place!"
"When you arrive on the small road you may wonder if you got lost, in fact you just found a secret gem! Beautiful surroundings (pool and river on one side, gorgeous garden on the other side) Tasteful design and decoration everywhere around Lovely and helpful team Nice mix of Vietnamese and French food Large choice of activities/tours to visit the area by boat, bike or scooter. We will definitely be back for the Mekong and for the Hotel!"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion Logo Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "It’s an unforgettable choice I made for my wedding day"
"We booked in the whole mansion for our wedding day in July 2017. It is a pleasant and wonderful heritage building you have ever seen in a small town of Penang. Every corner of the building is a treasure for us and thus we made a decision to have our wedding held in this gorgeous house. There is a few things I must highlight, besides the attraction of the house, the friendliest staff who been working hard to help out whenever we need to the smallest details and care we neglected. Daniel, the manager, reception, wait staff to the housekeeping lady who gave us the warmest welcoming and joy during our stay, we couldn't express how blessed we were to have this brilliant team there to make our wedding a successful one. The mansion been constantly maintaining their facilities, rooms are incredibly huge and comfy, healthy and thoughtful breakfast. We enjoyed so much by just sitting in the lounge or the sofa that lies in the courtyard, every angle is an appreciation to this over 100 year-old architecture. We will definitely go back again and thanks again for such excellent service."jing: "Why did we stay only one night?"
"Actually, the answer to the question in the title of this review is that we didn't have more time to spend on holiday. Our greatest mistake was not having two nights at this lovely hotel. Imam at reception was kind and welcoming. He made us feel right at home. The room was gorgeous and the courtyards of the hotel are lovely. The hotel is so quiet - it was the best night sleep we had the whole holiday! The breakfast was off a menu and the choices were both Chinese and Western. And both of our choices were delicious. We also decided to eat dinner at the hotel. It was ""upscale"" pricewise, but the food was excellent and well presented. We also were able to try some of the local dishes which we would have missed out on if we were just wandering the streets. We would recommend this hotel to anyone - and we hope that one day we will find ourselves back in the Jing Residence.... "Locavore: "Absolute excellence"
Locavore was recommended to us by friends. It is a wonderful food experience to have in Ubud. Expect many more courses than you think and everything you put in you mouth is superb. Presentation, particular the crockery is unique. Loved everything. It is a set menu - 5 or 7 courses for lunch. We chose 5 but you get many more. We were there for my husbands 60th birthday and they presented him with a cake in a coconut with candle at the end. Very special.Tugu Lombok: "Unique Antique Boutique Retreat"
"We were totally spoiled by the beauty and warm hospitality of this place. A feast for the eyes and senses. Park-like grounds littered with art and antique structures collected from around Indonesia. We had a spacious and comfortable villa room – (with a koi pond!). The beach is long enough for a good walk and there are two pools – one Olympic size that's good for doing laps to work up an appetite for the outstanding meals (we mostly ate off the local menu, sate, curries, grilled fish, street food breakfast – consistently excellent), wine by the glass is entirely drinkable and the martinis are good and dry (although they should shake and pour at the table so the ice flakes don’t melt). We had the relaxing Balinese style messages at the spa - the therapists were lovely, easy to communicate with and skilled. Our three night stay was hardly long enough. We’d go back in a heartbeat. Note: if you like cycling, go for a ride in the surrounding countryside – you’ll feel like a celebrity. The retail opportunities suggested by our driver from the hotel on the way to the airport are high quality and not tourist traps: a pearl gallery that has natural (not dyed) golden pearls special to Lombok and the weavers’ village offers high quality, authentic local weaving."Villa Song Saigon: "Magic amongst the Mayhem"
"Villa Song is on the river away from the manic mayhem of Saigon, we loved it. I would not liked to have stay in Saigon itself, its very noisy, dirty and smelly at Villa Song we had the best of both worlds. A boat takes guest back and forth to the city so its easy to get to any of the sights fairly easily. It suitated in an area that has a number of International Schools and there are some reasonalbe resturants and and shop. We chose to eat at the hotel as we were only there for three nights and it was a joy to sit by the river and watch life go by. The food was delicious and resonably priced for good quality fare. Our room had a small balcony and was very comfortable. Breakfast was delcious and plentiful. An excellent stay."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Very educational and interesting"
"Joined one of three conducted tours of the mansion available. The guide, Ben is simply the best I have ever come across. He speaks very well. Very informative and interesting background stories relating to the life of Cheong Fatt Tze and the life of others living in this mansion before it becomes what it is today. Worth every second of the two hours spent there. Could have been even better if more artifacts of the early days are on display. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Villa Song Saigon: "Absolutely splendid & luxurious"
We selected this hotel for our final night in Vietnam and to celebrate our anniversary. It seemed a long way from the airport initially, but really it is quite close to the city centre and the hotel provides regular transport for guests. We splurged on an art suite and it was so beautiful that we wished we could have stayed longer, much longer. The staff were so kind and in our room we found a lovely little surprise to help us mark our special occasion. How thoughtful. The location of the hotel overlooking the river is beautiful and we were so impressed with the decor, the staff, the restaurant and the facilities. Our room was superb in every detail and we were given the opportunity to take a boat ride from the hotel's dock to the city - great fun. A fantastic stay.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
