Tugu Bali: "A Hidden Gem – Romantic and Relaxing"
We had a wonderful stay at Tugu, Bali whose mission is to bring back to life the art, soul and romance of Indonesia and it certainly does. It was by far my favourite hotel on the island. There are so many wonderful historical artefacts on the property, we really enjoyed wondering the hotel to look at them and learn about some of Bali's history. The hotel’s theatrically large entrance lobby creates an impression of grandeur. While there are plenty of unique areas to enjoy a romantic breakfast/lunch/dinner. What I loved about Tugu was the friendly staff and the attention to detail. Staying true to the romance element, when our room was turned down, beautiful poems were left by the bed with an array of fresh local flowers. The bath in our suite was incredible and the flower petals added to the ambiance. For Honeymooners and anyone looking for something a little bit special -Tugu is a must! The Island Lodge: "Made From My Dreams"
Well what a place. My wife and I decided to try and walk from the barriers on the Island to the Island Lodge. We got over half way when one of the staff spotted us on their scooter and kindly told us to wait and sent the golf buggy to collect us. What a saviour she was. Upon reaching the reception we were greeted with a cool face towel which was such a lovely touch along with the most delicious of welcome drinks and a small welcome set of canapés. What a lovely extra. We were taken to our room and were absolutely made up with it. Everything we needed and things thought of with common sense. (...) All the food provided is well cooked and tastes great especially the Vietnamese cuisine. This means you do not need to go anywhere other than stay, relax and indulge. We hired bikes which was great and headed into My Tho. When my wife got a puncture the staff were so happy to help her get back to base and replace the bike. Michael and François are an insperation with what they have done and are doing, especially when you talk to them abou their past and how they came to set up this place of sheer luxury. They even surprised me with a glass of fizz and cake for my birthday whilst we were staying there yet another lovely touch. I cannot recommend this place highly enough I just wish there was 5 plus star to rate here. Thank you again to the team for such a wonderful stay.Cuca: "Wow, wow and wow"
This is an amazing restaurant. The location, the atmosphere, the simple yet classy architecture and the wonderful knowledgeable staff. The food is to die for and Chef Kevin Churkas has assembled a classy team in the kitchen to deliver outstanding food. This restaurant will stay in the memory bank for a very long time.Maison Polanka: "Totally great"
We were bowled over by our stay at Hotel Polanka. The staff are unfailingly helpful - and go out of their way to provide the little touches that makes the hotel feel sooo luxurious. Would 100% recommend it - it's a 10 minute bike ride to town (bikes provided) or tuk tuk about the same. 20-25 minutes to the temples. 20-25 mins to the airport. All incredibly easy and beautifully done. Thank you!Heritage Suites Hotel: "Good Retreat at the End of the Day"
We spent 4 nights at the Heritage Suites in Siem Reap, while visiting the Angkor Wat ruins and surrounding countryside. When we returned in the late afternoon every day, it was an excellent refuge from the heat and humidity. The grounds are lovely, the staff are excellent, and the rooms are well appointed. It’s a great place to reflect on what you’ve seen and heard during the day, and rest up before the next day. All and all a fine accommodation.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "an amazing – breathtaking views with tranquility!"
What more do you want! Just visit!!! This lodge is set out of the way with no interruption from anyone or anything. Grab a book - sit of the ledge and let time just pass - no need to stay here for a week - a day or 2 and you'll be ready for the next part of your trip! The Island Lodge: "A haven of peace in the Mekong Delta OK"
"This is a beautifully conceived boutique resort of 12 rooms, whose hosts and staff couldn't be more accommodating, warm and gracious. It is right on the Mekong River just 1-1/2 hours from the bustle and chaos of Saigon. Michel, the French owner and creative force behind this idyllic lodge, and his wife, Francoise, go above and beyond to cater to your every need. It is managed in a professional and gracious manner. The lodge arranged our transport from Saigon and back to the airport which went without a hitch. In fact I left my cellphone in the car. The driver found it; there wasn't enough time to retrieve it before my flight, but the lodge assured me they would get it to me and I received it at my next destination well packaged and Michel refused our offers to reimburse them for the postage and handling, saying it was their pleasure. What a lovely gesture. Fabulous pool overlooking the river, wonderful open dining room, tastefully decorated to a high standard. Rooms are beautiful, comfortable and beautifully situated. Ours was in the garden (we chose to have a bathtub rather than the river view) and the setting among the ponds, water lillies, little bridges was perfect. We took a half day trip on the river, designed for tourists, but our guide was knowledgeable and interesting and even the kitschy coconut candy making, ride on a Vietnamese rowboat down.a small tree canopied canal, paddled by two Vietnamese women (occasionally men), honey tea service was fun and educational. (No pressure to buy anything). I had two massage sessions (one an herbal with balls) and both were fabulous -- and very reasonably priced. Couldn't ask for a nicer couple of days. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Authentic Khmer dishes in wonderful setting"
Well reviewed by many travel writers, we chose this and booked months ago as it is very popular and the owners do close the restaurant for weeks at a time. Tasting menus A and B which you can try one of each as a couple - superb. We chose the fan cooled upper floor rather than the AC ground floor that catered more for those that wanted a modern restaurant. With the windows open even on a rainy evening, it was fresh and lush. Food was fabulous and really tested our understanding of Cambodian food. We were welcomed by Carole and her chef husband visited each table when he brought the fruit selection that ended each menu and you had the chance to talk to - a lovely personal touch.Villa Song Saigon: "Top class"
"We recently stayed at the Villa Song for the first leg of our honeymoon in beautiful Vietnam. After a choice of two rooms, we opted for a suite with balcony overlooking the river at the front of the hotel - what a fab choice! The hotel oozes charm and elegance with stunning French colonial decor and a relaxing pool area away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Food and service is exceptional with a particular thanks to the front of house team and Freddie the restaurant manager who made us feel very welcome. This really is a gem of a hotel..we hope to return again one day."Rachamankha: "Quiet luxury"
Is simply perfect. Very well located. Great service. Elegant with style. Delicious breakfasts serve the precious Chinese dishes. Wonderful swimming pool. Just 26 rooms distributed around two internal cloisters as gardens. unforgettable hotel. Plenty of antiquities. Very much recommended
