Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Good food. Nice breezy balcony"

The food and beer was good. It was a spacious getaway from the crowded streets. Get their salads. Sit on the balcony at sunset

Satri House: "Unbelievably beautiful"

Stunning boutique hotel with a beautiful decor and excellent staff. Highly highly recommend for a luxurious stay. The breakfast was delicious with a good selection and the rooms were comfortable and cozy. No complaints what so ever.

Satri House: "A Royal Stay"

"Everything about this place was enjoyable. The former royal residence was elegant, charming and personable. You feel like staying at someone's home or should I say palace. When you arrive its like entering into a different era. The decor, rooms and grounds are all beautiful. Lots of nooks to find and settle in. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - even helped us with learning a view Laotian phrases. Hang out at the poolside bar before heading out. Very impressed with the hotel restaurant. Great breakfast with fresh bread etc. With so many restaurant choices in LP, we actually chose to eat our last dinner at the hotel and its was best decision. There is also a very good place right across the side street called Manda de Laos - expensive for LP but very reasonable and good. The one thing that concerned us when we book was the distance to the main area in LP. In reality, being a little secluded was preferable as the hotel was quiet and tranquil. We typically walked into town which takes 5-7 minutes. And if you don't want to walk its quite easy to get a cheap tuk tuk or take one of the hotel's bikes. We considered 3 Nagas but we made right choice. For recommendations in LP, check out Naga Creations. Its owned by a french expat that creates local artisan jewelry. I normally don't shop on vacation but this was an exception. We look forward to returning. To Giovanni and his staff - Kop chai lai lai!"

Sukoon Houseboat: "Floating Fantasy!"

This was my first houseboat experience and it was wonderful! After driving the hideous road from Kargil (which was in itself ugly and dirty) arriving at Sukoon was such a welcome paradise. Clean lines, white sheets, excellent food and a great shower! Simply spectacular! The staff were incredibly friendly, especially Babu and the view was beautiful!

"Nothing to add really to the other reviewers. This place is splendid with style and characters, quiet because a bit away from the main road. Will absolutely return. Would only say that breakfast service is a bit difficult - you have to order piecemeal (or anyway, that's what our waitress did). Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Don’t miss the boat!"

Loved this hotel - rooms are very large and generous (and like the fact that there is no TV), the pool area is the perfect place to relax, staff went out of their way to be super helpful. Views of the ocean are magical. The local indian food was very good, but Western options not up to the same standard (including at breakfast). The real highlight of staying here was going out for the night on the river boat in the backwaters. Super romantic, a really special experience. The staff made us feel very special, and the views are to die for.

David’s Kitchen: "Unexpected fine dining in Chiang Mai"

We dined at DK at the recommendation of our Audley Travel agent. He called it, "the best restaurant in Thailand" and we couldn't agree more. Not only is the food plentiful and delicious with beautiful presentation, but the ambiance is elegant and the personalized attention - inclusive of 2 visits from David and his wife - surpasses expectations (even for fine dining). The menu is diverse, primarily french, and the selection of wine by the bottle or glass is extensive and pairs well with the menu options. We regularly dine out in Washington, DC and DK is on par with the finest restaurants in DC.

Sanak Retreat Bali: "The Best place I have ever stayed and i travel a lot"

The setting, the ethos, the staff!!! Its dreamy and Its the real deal. A true eco luxury treat! The rooms are beautiful and in keeping with the land and nature. The food is exquisite. The views are stunning. I loved this place so much Ive been back twice and will return there whenever I am in Bali, its well worth the adventure up into the mountains for! I was made to feel like part of the community here and I am truly grateful to have felt this welcomed. Thank you all x x x see you again soon!

Rachamankha: "A most enjoyable stay."

"I spent four nights here recently with my wife, son and his girlfriend. We had two deluxe rooms next to each other, but not adjoining. The hotel and it's staff were superb with a ""special mention"" for Paul Walker, the General Manager who could not have been more helpful and charming. The atmosphere is calm and serene, as is the Chinese inspired architecture, and is totally conducive to relaxation which, in our case, is exactly what was needed. The location is in the old city, but a short Tuk Tuk ride from the Night Bazaar and Worouot market. I would not hesitate the Rachamankha to anyone considering it."

Amata Lanna: "Lovely room, friendly staff, & healthy Breakfast"

Traveled with my adult son. Lovely tropical feeling hotel. Pool in the middle of the property. Had 2 beds, a bit firmer then I'm use to, surpricenly slept very well. Friendly staff, great location. Must experience a meal at "Lemon Grass" 5 minute walk.
