Misool Eco Resort: "Most incredible scuba diving"
"Where to start!!! Misool is truly unique! You arrive on a fast launch, to a wonderful tropical island, you are greeted on the jetty by all the waving friend staff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The island is set up wonderfully for scuba divers, fully equipped dive centre with nitrox that is free to qualified divers, you can hire equipment or take your own. A dedicated area is available for you to work on your camera equipment. You could do 4 dives a day if you wish too. Dive sites are accessed by fast boats, many sites are only 15 minutes away or less. All dive sites are wonderful! The corals are in pristine condition from down deep right to the surface. The fish life in variety and quantity is truly amazing! The Maldives 35 years ago was fantastic, Misool today even beats that NOW!!!! Why? The team at Misool and their wonderful Rangers and their Charity have a huge No Take zone and this is paramount in protecting the area. You can stay in a very comfortable water bungalow, near the dive centre and restaurant or you can stay in a very secluded bungalows on the south beach. These are accessed by steep steps up and down over the hill. A boat taxi is available at certain tide states. Meals are extremely healthy using lots of local ingredients. I found that for me the strong Indonesian influence was not always to my taste. It is hard to fault Misool! I consider a stay there is A TRIP of a LIFE TIME !!! May Misool go from strength to strength!!!! Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Blue Heaven"
We loved everything about the Mansion. The incredible story of its history and renovation, the beautiful rooms and the overwhelming sense of being in a cocoon. Add the lovely breakfast offerings and the sensational food at Indigo and it feels totally indulgent. But for us the crowning glory was the people. From the energetic and inspirational owner to Daniel the manager through to housekeeping, everyone was delightful, engaging and had a strong customer focus. Nothing was too much trouble for the team and they were always looking for ways to make our stay even better. This is a top class business and I cannot recommend it highly enough.Maison Polanka: "Good people Safe Environment"
I stayed here beacuse of the location and the photos. The place looks very clean and nature is right next to your doorstep! The staffs are very friendly and welcoming. Their tour guides speaks very good English.Locavore: "Three hours of foodie bliss"
"We had the 7 course non vego menu and were again impressed on our third visit to this restaurant. We came from Sanur to eat here again and it was worth the journey! The kitchen maintained the excellent level of taste sensation in each morsel of the “snacks” and the actual menu courses. My only “mmm not sure” moment was the caffeine fish combination. The tomato consommé with the sorbet, the mushrooms , the varied uses of egg - could go on.... If you have the time and the money and enjoy food as an experience, go. Its around top dollar for Bali, but not in comparison to similar in Australia and Michelin rated restaurants in Europe."The Governor’s House: "Highly recommended"
I had a great stay at Governors House. The staff were warm and accommodating without being overbearing; the property and rooms were perfectly curated and cozy; and the grounds were absolutely lovely. I stayed in GH as a respite prior to a few weeks of intense work, during which I was lodged at a bigger international chain hotel that - although more 'luxury' - didn't have the charm or the homeyness of this property. I'd highly recommend it for travelers looking for a more stylish, and more personal, lodging experience in Phnom Penh.Tugu Lombok: "Art, history, and romance” sums it up perfectly"
"This resort exceeds the mantra that its owner established: ""The art, history, and romance of Indonesia."" My husband and I kicked off our Indonesia honeymoon here. We are sad that we started with the best, and did not stay longer. As city dwellers, we desperately needed relaxation away from crowds of high stressed people, and this was the perfect tranquil paradise. To sum it up: -#1 is the natural beauty and private luxury of the property. It's not a huge, tourist-packed resort. It feels like home. -Our private villa was bigger than our apartment, with its own plunge pool 10 feet away from the beach. The indoor/outdoor bathroom was interesting and felt like living with nature (don't be scared of ants). Definitely use the mosquito coils outside. -The service is top notch. The staff knew us by name and our daily itinerary; they swiftly responded to every need (transportation requests, lost item on the beach, last minute massage appointments, you name it). They even surprised us the last evening of our stay with a romantic artistic display in our villa. :) -The authenticity of the vast art collection, history, culture, and staff is very cool. You can learn so much about Indonesia history and culture from reading the dining menus or talking to the staff, most of whom are locals. -The food is amazing. The rich multi-asian cultural influences combined with local organic ingredients equates to delicious surprises at every meal. They also serve intercontinental cuisine perfectly. Don't miss the daily tea hour with adorable complimentary desserts! -The private beach is mostly empty and ocean water is super warm. Swim out to the hotel's floating raft to snorkel on the astoundingly clear reef. -Massages at the spa are awesome. You could get used to this! There were very few things to look out for: -Mosquitoes in dark places/at dinner (the hotel provides complimentary mosquito lotion) -Wifi is spotty in some areas (best in dining pavilions) -Don't try to swim/snorkel during low tide (you can walk at knee-deep water for a mile out!) Amazing stay. We can't say enough about our stay and hope that we can return soon!"Flower Island Resort: "A gem in paradise"
"We spent four nights here and loved it.The island is small with only one resort with a capacity to accommodate about 40 people. However, by the looks of it, the usual occupancy is about 10 guests at the time. The rooms are at the lower-end standard. Most have just a fan, but some have A/C. The double bed is small and with the bednet effectively stopping any circulation of air. I ended up sleeping on the extra bed, which was fine. The bathroom is big, but if you are one to enjoy hot showers - this is not the place. BUT; having said all this, Flower Island resort really was the place that made our holiday an unforgettable memory. The location on the island is just fabulous. The staff is outstanding, helpful and doing anything to ensure you have a great time. They offer super nice excursions at a fair price including lunch and drinks. Don’t miss the pearl farm which is really interesting and worth seeing. Also, the walk up to the tower is well worth the effort. The view is spectacular and you can even sleep up there and wake to sunrise... Snorkling; can probably not get much better these days when corrals are mostly dead or dying. But there is a lot of fish and we were lucky to see sea-turtles. Food has received various comments on this site. We found it quite good, although, since it is all-inclusive you don’t get to choose in case you don’t like what’s on today’s buffet. If you are looking for peace and a quite combined with excursions and the odd massage, this is as good as it gets."Jing’s Residence: "Feeling Welcome In Beauttiful Surroundings"
Jing's Residence in the charming old town of Pingyao is one of a kind. It has all the attributes one wishes a hotel would possess, but rarely encounters in real life. For one thing, I was struck by the extremely appealing aesthetics of the compound, with its inner courtyards, its beautiful rooms/suites with all the amenities one would desire, its upstairs library with computers, its excellent restaurant... It is, however, the atmosphere of the place, the way you feel welcome and the sense that the staff cares about your well-being that really makes Jing's Residence such a unique and pleasing experience. My only regret is that, because of our tight schedule, we could not stay a few extra days and imbibe more of this relaxing, yet invigorating atmosphere.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "After dinner time.."
