Babe: "Sensational. A really special experience"
"Among all of the places I have eaten at, Babe exudes an atmosphere that rivals the most energetic of places, with the food sharing that same energy. Chef Jeff Ramsay and his team of chefs and hosts provide an experience that's unlike any other in Malaysia. The food is refreshingly inventive, executed well, and finished off with attentive explanations. I really enjoyed my time here and I recommend the place to anybody who's looking for a good time. "Maison Polanka: "A little slice of paradise"
Tucked away down a maze of non-descipt unpaved lane, the gates open, and you are in a little slice of paradise. A garden you can tell has been tended for with love and care. Traditional wooded huts on stilts that house 5 rooms. Each room is different, spacious, simple and tasteful decor. We stayed 4 nights in the Yellow Room and loved it: it's at the far end, so very quiet. Loved the lemongrass essence burning when we checked in. Windows looking out to greenery. Bed is very comfortable. The bathrooom is spacious and bright with very high ceiling and a skylight. There is a smallish but beautiful pool, we had a swim every day after a morning's sight-seeing, then lunch at the pool side restaurant. The food is delicious: my first taste of Cambodian, a bit like Thai and Vietnamese, but more delicate flavours. Dinner at the pool side is wonderful, quiet, great food, great wine, very attentive service. There is a dog, a rabbit, a cat...Don't stay in a run-of-the-mill 5 star chain, I warmly recommend Maison Polanka, it's a stay you will rememberTalabgaon Castle: "Family owned Castle in the Indian countryside"
A group of four friends on the way from Jaipur to Ranthambore stopped at this magical place. It was like stepping back into time, when life was slower, and more elegant. The hotel is the generations old great-house of a noble family from Jaipur, who also happen to be some of the best polo players in India! The grounds include a polo field, gorgeous pool, and lots of little paths that criss-cross the gardens. The family treats you like a guest and like a member of the family — while we were there we were treated to a beautiful supper on the grass in the late afternoon sun — magical! All the rooms have been renovated and have amazing marble floors and fabulous baths, each with its own unique series of nooks and windows with amazing views of the countryside. The little village that is just outside the gates of the castle is charming too. What a delightful contrast to all the business that is India. A great place to relax and experience life at an Indian family 'home.'Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Annual pilgramage"
"At least once a year we make our way here. We do that because the service is impeccable (no hovering but everything appears exactly when you need it). The food is inventive yet grounded. (Yes, there are things you might call ""molecular"" but they don't abuse it or make it silly) It reflects local culture in interesting ways. (Every year they introduce me to something in Thai cuisine I was completely unaware of. This always results in my seeking it out in street carts or local restaurants later. Khao Soi, Khao Chai. Moo Palo). The win list is brillliant. This is not cheap ( by Thai standards), but would stand up to any NY, London or Singapore 5 start. Do NOT miss this. And stick your neck out if they have a la carte (they didn't this trip - it was a wonderful fixed menu). For example. Pork Blood Chocolate pudding. Sounds scary. It's heavenly. You only live once and that should be well fed."Cuca: "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for me"
Was wondering where to eat in Bali, i know there are so many sorts of restaurants everywhere and some a just a letdown....so wife recommended why don't we try Cuca, since some of her friends said good things about it. Since we are staying in Uluwatu, so it was not that far for us to get over there. We arrived slightly over 2pm and the restaurant was empty, i asked my wife are you sure this place is good? We were greeted and showed to our table...each table is separated by a curtain for privacy, so we decided to choose the table closest to the full view of the kitchen. Everyone was busy, apparently there is a close event that night. So we were the only guest. Our waitress was this pleasant looking girl that was very attentive and took time to explain the menu. We decided to try the tasting menu, i think was about 7 sharing courses. I won't go through the menu, you have to come and try it out for yourself...my only verdict is "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for us"Tugu Lombok: "Perfect"
We were really impressed with this resort. The room was beautiful, with outdoor bathroom and enormous size. Friendly and attentive staff, amazing breakfast, great pool, stunning scenery and grounds. You can have breakfast any time of day - such a brilliant idea! The training of the staff has been brilliant, without exception all of them are very good. People looking after the grounds, restaurant, bar, cleaning, front desk, concierge... all are a credit to the hotel. The beach isn't fabulous, as there's a lot of sea urchins and low tide is really very low exposing coral and rocks, but it was the only negative. Top recommendation.muang la: "Dream Boutique Hotel in Great Location"
"The trip to this resort from Luang Prabang is defintely worth doing. The rooms are fantastic with great views and a fantastic pool. The service is 5 star and charming and Rui the General Manager was really friendly and could not do enough to make our stay memorable. The food each night was fantasic and we loved the tasting menu approach -breakfasts were also great. Our best day was the visit to 3 hill tribes in the mountains, with a brilliant local guide. We brought balloons for the kids who were really pleased, had a picnic at a local school and even visited the local Shamens hut. In the last village there wasno photography as the villagers still believe it ""steals your soul""! When we came back to the hotel, we walked across the bridge and took a punt back across the river, visited the local monastry where we got a blessing from a local monk and had a beer at a small hut hanging over the river. Local village and market are also a short walk from the hotel. All in all this place was faultless and a trip here twinned with Luang Prabang is a superb holiday (althiygh Luang Prabang will feel touristy after here). Hope to get back sonn Rui and thanks for making sure we had such a great time. Richard "Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Fantastic views"
Very attractive lodge with a wonderful view of the mountains weather permitting. Arrived here after a 4 day trek and it was heaven to enjoy a hot shower, delicious meal and very comfortable room. Very attentive staff providing a great welcome and stay.Villa Song Saigon: "Staff eager to please"
"The staff are fantastic - nothing is too much trouble. Boutique hotel with pool open till midnight, complimentary speedboat along Saigon river to city centre is an added bonus. Would recommend Room 201 without hesitation. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Sandat Glamping Tents: "Birthday Vacation"
"My boyfriend & I traveled to Bali for my 25th birthday for 10 days! We stayed in multiple locations all over Bali, but for my actual birthday I wanted to make sure I stayed in Ubud. We chose to stay at Sandat, for two nights! From the moment we got there they immediately made us feel welcomed! We stayed in the Ylang Ylang Luxury Suite Tent, and it was more than perfect. When we walked into the Villa, they had spelled out ""Happy Birthday"" in flowers on the bed! On top of that every single person there knew it was my birthday so whenever I walked by someone new, they all stoped to tell me happy birthday! The room was incredible, and the pool was very refreshing! At Sandat, you truly feel like you're one with nature, it's amazing. We ate in the common area as much as we could, because the food was DELICIOUS, and the staff so friendly. Each morning/night they would set the tables with different and beautiful tables linens! They are very ""eco-friendly"" and I enjoyed every minute of being there. The location is perfect - just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the streets of ubud, and the shuttle service they provide is excellent! On our last morning we enjoyed hot stone massages by our pool - perfect way to end our stay! The ONLY THING I would say needs some improvement, are the beds... they are tolerable, but a memory foam mattress topper would definitely make it more comfortable! I would like to give a special thank you to Ms. Putu, who helped with our reservations and was so accommodating! As well as a big thank you to Tengo - he was a pleasure to speak with! Everyone there is so great! You will not regret booking with Sandat. When we come back to Bali, we will for sure be staying at Sandat; it's very magical. - Kiela"
