Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "OMG"
I cannot say enough good things about the Golden Buddha Beach Resort. I wanted a beach hotel that was secluded, just-the-right-amount-of-rustic, stylish, and on a deserted beach. We got it! The hotel’s website is intelligently discrete but its description is correct. Highlights: meeting the hotel manager (Massi), the hotel's French owner (so friendly!), the New Years Eve dinner buffet, and the massage. The only recommendation I would make: the main dishes at lunch and dinner could benefit from a vegetable side dish; vegetable side dishes should be offered on the menu; the pricing of food could be a tad more reasonable.Nimmu House: "The perfect place"
We chose to end in Nimmu House a rather full program of trekking and touring in Ladakh. We couldn't be happier with this choice. Our heads full of memories to process, we were given space, the beautiful apple and apricots orchards, the relaxing terrasse, our own luxury tent, and time, no rush for anything, to digest all we had done so far and also the idea that we would have to leave soon. The old house is beautiful. It is being restored with great attention and respect for locale traditions. The staff is very kind and extremely helpfull and the food is fresh and delicious! We visit Ubud once in a while and it's getting difficult to find "The Place". Surprisingly we found the little gems. The reception is welcoming. We stead in one of the tents with private pool. Very nicely decorated. We can feel the Latin European touch. Warm and cosy. Employees are well trained and discret. Breakfast is freshly made at the premises. The linen is of very good quality. The bamboo structure of the restaurant and Yoga hall is splendid. I preferred to do my yoga at my private pool side. We used the shuttle car to go in/out.. Drivers are very Helpful. This excellent hotel is located in the heart of the old town of Chiang Mai. All major Sightseeing places are in easy walking distance. The restaurant is located in a Patio and the chef is preparing delicious dishes.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Amazing hotel"
We spent 3 nights here at the beginning of August and the whole experience was fantastic. The tents are incredible and I love the fact there are no TVs or ACs. The staff were excellent, and really went above and beyond. The location is stunning and we really enjoyed the trip to the waterfall and kayaking around. "We expected outstanding food and we definitely got it, service was exceptional too, setting very serene and all added to the overall experience, one of delight all round. We even spoke to the chef/owner at the end of the meal and he made the time to speak to us properly and in depth about his concept. This isn't a complaint in the slightest, but the price was so competitive I expected less than I got! For what we got I would have paid rm250 per head and considered it value for money, each dish and snack very well constructed. "Having trekked for six days in the hills, Tiger Mountain Lodge was exactly what we needed. We arrived and were immediately offered refreshing drinks whilst sitting on the veranda looking at the stunning scenery.The view was incredible every single day and it was magical to sit out over breakfast and just see the mountains in the distance. The staff were on another level. They were so attentive, willing to do anything (which included making endless amounts of popcorn) and really professional. They knew exactly when we needed something and were polite and chatty. The rooms themselves were fantastic, the beds really comfy and the views stunning. The bathrooms too were much appreciated and the showers were very welcome after the hills! The food was five star: every day was something different and the breakfast especially wonderful. "This was a trip we took with the family. One big room for my sisters and me and the rents in another. The place, from the minute you walk in you are greeted by kind staff, and the door grabs young transports you to another time! The little things like going in at night and preparing your room is just one of those things that make the trip extra special. By the second day they know how you like your tea, what your child wants, and how you take your eggs. If you are looking for a true eco-touristic place that is honest about what it presents, this is the place! There is so much more than a simple hotel! Its a true experience!"
